TBT: The year was 1950 and the hunter was Grand Slammer # 2, Herb Klein (Left) and guide Paddy Jim with one of the most beautiful Dall rams ever taken. The ram’s right horn was 47” long. The 13” bases kept the ram from scoring more than its official B&C total of 174 6/8” which is still very impressive. Along on this hunt was Jack O’Connor. This ram was taken on Prospector Mountain in the Yukon’s Sifton Range. The mysterious Valley and its People! The Niti Valley is situated to the east of the Mana Valley in the hinterland of Joshimath. Niti, located at an elevation of 3,600 m, is the most important village of the valley. To the north of this village is the Niti Pass (5,800 m) leading to southern Tibet. The region receives heavy snowfall. A community living in this regions of India – Tibet border (in Garhwal) is called Rongpa. The community name “Rongpa”, derives from the word Rung, which means valley and Pa means inhabitants. Those living in Chamoli, Uttarakhand are generally referred to as Rongpa. Rongpas of Niti and Mana valleys (Chamoli, Garhwal, Uttarakhand) are also known as Bhotia. Bhot is area of Tibet. Marchha and Tolchha are the two sub-groups of Rongpa community. Traditionally, Rongpas were traders, farmers, weavers, shepherds and herders. Before 1962, when Indo-Tibetan Border got closed , Rongpas used to trade with Tibet through the Mana and Niti passes, which are at an elevation of 5,800m. In trading centres, they bartered their goods for local Tibetan merchandise to be resold in local markets in India. Large numbers of caravans of mules, yaks and sheep were traded. Ghee, Salt, Beans, Potatoes, Peas Gains etc. were other main items for trading. The herders sell wool, meat, and milk to earn a living. The inhabitants of the valley move from their alternative villages to the valley during summer and stay in the valley from April to October. All kind of traditional rituals are performed during this period of stay by the community. It has been denied that Rongpas of Garhwal are people from Tibet migrated to India. Rongpas practice pure Hindu Culture. All Hindu gods and goddesses are worshiped by the community to protect their families and village. The Bhotia speak different dialects in the states they reside in. In Uttarakhand they speak Rongba, Boti in Sikkim, and Kumaoni in Kumaon. In third last picture one can see Indias second Highest peak after Kangchenjunga, Nanda Devi elevation 7816 m. *मुख्यमंत्री ने किया प्रदेश के पहले पिरूल से विद्युत उत्पादन परियोजना का लोकार्पण। मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र सिंह रावत ने विकास खण्ड डुण्डा के ग्राम चकोन धनारी में 25 लाख लागत की 25 किलोवाट क्षमता की पिरूल से विद्युत उत्पादन की पहली परियोजना का लोकार्पण किया। इस अवसर पर मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र ने कहा कि पर्यावरणीय चक्र को आग से बचाने के लिए यह परियोजना बेहद उपयोगी होगी। जंगलों में आग लगने के कारण जहां अनेक पेड, औषधीय पौधें, वनसपत्तियां नष्ट हो जाती थी वहीं बड़ी संख्या में जंगली जानवर भी प्रभावित होते हैं। पिरूल से विद्युत उत्पादन परियोजना के बनने से वनों एवं जीव जन्तुओं को आग से सुरक्षा होगी। तथा इससे रोजगार के अवसर भी पैदा होगें। अभी राज्य को 1 हजार करोड़ की बिजली क्रय करनी पड़ रही है, इस प्रकार की परियोजना के बनने से राज्य को आर्थिक मदद मिलेगी। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदेश भर में 23 लाख मिट्रीक टन सालाना पिरूल उत्पादन होता है, जिससे लगभग 200 मेगावाट बिजली उत्पादित की जा सकती है। मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र ने कहा कि राज्य के सुदूरवर्ती क्षेत्रों में कालावासा काफी मात्रा में पाया जाता है। इसमें औषधीय तत्व विद्यमान हैं। यह विकरण किरणों से भी बचाता है तथा एंटीबायटिक हैं। मुख्यमंत्री ने किसानों से कालावासा की खेती करने का आवहा्न किया। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि प्रदेश के सीमान्त क्षेत्रों में नेटवर्किंग की समस्या को देखते हुए 250 सेटेलाईट फोन दिये गए है ताकि सीमान्त वासियों को नेटवर्क को लेकर कोई समस्या न हो। इसी तरह प्रदेश भर में जहां कनेक्टिविटी नहीं है तथा टावर लगाये जाने हैं वहां टावर लगाने के लिए सरकार द्वारा 40 लाख रूपये स्वीकृत किये हैं। सीमान्त वासियों की समस्याओं के निस्तारण के लिए बीएडीपी की तर्ज पर मुख्यमंत्री सीमान्त क्षेत्र विकास निधि में इस वर्ष 20 करोड़ रूपये की व्यवस्था की गई है, ताकि उनकी समस्याओं को हल किया जा सके। मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र ने कहा कि सामरिक दृष्टि से सीमान्त क्षेत्रों में स्थानीय समुदाय का होना अति आवश्यक है। मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र ने कहा कि प्रदेश में जल जीवन मिशन के अन्तर्गत हर घर नल द्वारा जल देना है। इस वर्ष में 10 लाख लोगों को पानी का कनेक्शन देने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है। इस हेतु हर जिले की दैनिक रूप से मॉनिटरिंग की जा रही हैं। ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में कुल 14 लाख कनेक्शन दिये जाने है। वर्तमान में तीन माह के भीतर 51 हजार कनेक्शन दिये जाने का लक्ष्य रखा गया था जिसमें आज तक 67 हजार कनेक्शन दिए जा चुके हैं। अटल आयुष्मान योजना के अन्तर - @dd_prime_news_uttarakhand on Instagram
