In Spotlight series we will meet tonight Miyuki who was awarded as runner-up at this years Best Sommelier of Japan competition!⠀ ⠀ Name: Miyuki Morimoto @mo.chi.co18 (Japan) ⠀ ⠀ I am: Sommelier at Conrad Tokyo, Hilton Group⠀ ⠀ What inspired me to become a sommelier: When I was still a section waitress, our Sommelier made me taste Château Ducru Beaucaillou 1995 as he had to confirm the wine condition before serving. I was impressed with the deliciousness of that Château Ducru Beaucaillou! Then, he looked at me and said that he would ask me some questions about this wine the next day. It was my turning point into the wine industry. ⠀ ⠀ My role model is: My mentor and boss Mr. Satoru Mori. He was the winner of the first Best Sommelier of Asia Oceania competition and represented Japan in the World competition four times. He taught me what is to be a sommelier and what the sommeliers role is. ⠀ ⠀ My greatest professional achievement is: Advanced Sommelier Certificate from Court of Master Sommeliers. ⠀ I started to study CMS when I lived in Sydney. Unlike competitions, studying the Court of Master Sommeliers gives us a chance to train each other, we can share information from various countries, restaurants and hotels. We can improve our grades together. I am very grateful to Yuki Hirose @yuki5273 (Rockpool, Sydney), Toru Takamatsu MS @toru_95_ms, Christian Baeppler @beppo126 in (Rockpool, Perth) and Andrea Martinisi @andreamatinisi in New Zealand for helping me to keep up [my studies] and their care. ⠀ ⠀ [Ed. note: Miyuki was awarded as runner-up at this years Best Sommelier of Japan, and will represent Japan at the next Best Sommelier of Asia & Oceania competition to be hosted in Australia. Miyuki is the first woman to represent Japan at an ASI competition.] ⠀ ⠀ My favourite food and beverage match is: Kara-age (fried chicken) and beer is outstanding...I’m just kidding. ⠀ I’d like to say 100% malolactic fermentation Chardonnay with Japanese Wagyu Beef. Japanese Wagyu Beef has more lactone flavour like milk, butter aromas than other beef, and this character works well with white wine [rather] than red wine. 요즘의 근황. (사진은 갑분 졸업식) #긴글주의 ⠀ 1. 아아주 바쁘다. 들어오는 일은 모조리 하고 있고 이번 일주일은 단 하루도 쉬지 못했다. 책과 글엔 거의 손을 못 댔지만 비슷하고도 다른 일을 많이 했다. 다음 주와 연휴 기간에는 강연 원고를 다시 고치고, 내년에 나올 책 원고를 추가로 쓰고 퇴고하자 꼭! 편집자님을 힘들게 하지마 세햐... ⠀ 2. 재작년 인터뷰한 내용을 글로 읽었는데, 2년 동안 많이 좋아졌다는 걸 느꼈다. 당시엔 약속 잡는 게 세상에서 제일 무서웠는데 (무기력이 찾아오면 일어날 수가 없었다) 지금은 냉장고에 붙여 놓은 화이트보드에 일정을 싹 적어놓고 착실히 지켜나간다. 얼마 전 언니가 허지웅 책에서 과거의 나에게 패배하는 것에 관해 말해주었는데, 재작년의 나보다 지금의 내가 나아서~~~ 이겨서 기뻤다. 과거의 내게 져도 상관없지만 뭐 이겨도 기븐이 죠으니까. ⠀ 3. 토요일엔 마음이 좋지 않은 상태로 영화모임에 갔다. 준비가 부족했다. 많은 질문을 품고 갔어야 했는데 그러지 못해서 진행 자체가 매끄럽지 않았다. 헛소리를 계속 늘어놓았고, 의미 없는 말들이 공간을 이리저리 떠도는 것 같아서 속상했다. 그리고.... 노잼인간이 된 내가 갑자기 싫어져서 버스정류장에서 눈물흘림. ^^ 생리 전엔 늘 이렇지. 역시 가면을 쓰자! 하는 날은 엉망진창인 경우가 잦다. 그래도 버스를 타고 집에 오며 사람들의 이야기를 곱씹고 메모했다. 타인의 이야기를 듣는 게 즐겁다. 역시 사람을 만나야.... 대화를 해야.. 그리고 반성. ⠀ 4. TMI는 한약 다이어트를 시작했고 살이 꽤 빠졌다. 작년에는 최고 몸무게 63kg를 찍었었고 요즘은 60~61이었는데 지금은 55kg 정도. 목표 날짜가 있어서 안 먹는 다이어트를 하고 있지만 날짜가 지나면 조금씩 먹으면서 운동할 거다. 식욕이 줄은 만큼 스트레스도 많이 줄었다. ⠀ 5. 나도 고앵이도 댕댕이들도 대체로 잘 지낸다. 다들 어찌 지내려나. 친구들이 보고 싶다. - @sentido90 on Instagram

Cette semaine la rubrique ‘’Un jeune, Un modèle’’ s’est entretenue avec une jeune brillante sénégalaise: Diary Sow. Elle est âgée de 19 ans, étudiante en classe préparatoire scientifique à Louis Le Grand de Paris. En effet, à son jeune âge elle a été Miss Sciences en 2017 et meilleure élève du Sénégal deux années de suite au Concours Général. Elle vient aussi d’intégrer le monde de l’écriture avec son premier roman ‘’Sous le visage d’un ange’’. Ces différentes distinctions ne sont pas nées d’un jour à l’autre, cette jeune demoiselle a toujours été parmi les meilleurs. Être l’une des meilleures de sa génération avait pour récompenses la participation à de nombreux concours et une reconnaissance de sa brillance. Sa présence à tous ces concours est due aussi à sa polyvalence et son amour pour toutes les matières. Diary Sow a débuté son parcours scolaire au CSI keur Madior de Mbour avant d’intégrer l’école élémentaire privée catholique, Saint-Eugène de Mazenod, aux Parcelles Assainies, elle retourna au CSI keur Madior de Mbour pour y passer son entrée en 6e. Par la suite, elle a réussi le concours d’entrée au Lycée Scientifique d’excellence de Diourbel après avoir été la meilleure élève de son centre au BFEM.
