Ro Khanna wrote to FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency and the California Governors Office of Emergency Services recently to urge that Alameda County and the SCU Fire be included in the California Disaster Declaration. One of our volunteers shared about her experience: Had my first volunteer experience at the Food Bank today- FUN! FUN! I sorted produce with a group of 9 others. It was similar to vol work I’ve done in the past- sorting thru boxed donations, making sure any bad, inedible, or rotten food is separated, placing fruit items In one box, vegetables in another box, and “bad” produce into a separate bin (it does go out to get used in a different way than feeding people). It was SO MUCH FUN! The people there provided masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, and everyone was socially distanced, a very safe environment. They even had a fun 80s playlist going, stuff I hadn’t heard in awhile- it was an upbeat, positive vibe. If you are looking for an easy, fun, meaningful way to make a difference for those struggling w/ food insecurity or waste, I HIGHLY recommend volunteering for a few hours. Thanks, Michele! Eight parks — Liberty, Fairmont, Sunnyside, Jordan, Lindsey Gardens, Richmond, Riverside and Washington Square — and the Salt Lake City Cemetery are temporarily closed as crews continue to clean up fallen trees and debris. Hilda tracked our results on the Clean Swell App. It was easy to use and we counted 250 pieces of trash weighing a total of 5 pounds!  Stay safe on your cleanups by wearing gloves, staying on the trail, and only collecting items that are safe to touch, or by using a grabber or other tool to pick up sharp objects. Keep a safe distance from others and wear a face covering. Ukupno u Zagrebu imamo 20 reciklažnih dvorišta, od čega je devet mobilnih i jedanaest fiksnih. Operativos para este fin de semana Distrito extrema controles para impedir el acceso de visitantes a playas y ríos en Santa Marta* El uso de playas y fuentes hídricas no está autorizado aún para uso con fines recreativos._ La Alcaldía Distrital ejercerá severos controles este fin de semana en las vías de acceso a playas, ríos, quebradas y otros balnearios que resultan de gran atractivo en Santa Marta, con el fin de evitar el ingreso masivo de visitantes a estos sitios, cuya apertura sólo podrá efectuarse a partir del próximo 18 de septiembre. Los operativos son liderados por la Secretaría de Movilidad Multimodal y Sostenible, que con su cuerpo de agentes y reguladores, en articulación con la Policía Nacional, ubicarán puestos de control en puntos estratégicos de entrada a estos sitios de interés para el descanso y el esparcimiento. “Vamos a extremar los controles durante el fin de semana en la localidad de Bonda y en todos los sitios turísticos de la ciudad como Taganga, Minca, El Rodadero y Bello Horizonte, con la idea de que se cumpla lo establecido en el Decreto 234 del 4 de septiembre, que en las zonas de playa, los ríos y los balnearios está prohibido su uso”, anunció el secretario de Movilidad, Juan Carlos De León Moscote. En promedio los Chilenos y Chilenas generamos cerca de 1,3 kilos de residuos por día 🗑, cifra que se puede disminuir considerablemente si actuamos de manera circular y comenzamos a gestionar nuestros residuos ♻️🌎💥. Infelizmente tivemos também a confirmação de 03 (três) mortes ocorridas nos dias 08.06, 05.08 e 22.08, todos na capital pernambucana. Er gehört zum Flusssystem der Weichsel, würde man sich hier treiben lassen, wäre man in ein paar Tagen an der Ostsee. Aber das ist die falsche Richtung für uns, wir wollen weiter nach Süden. 😉 Poland really surprises us with a lot of nature and great landscapes. Here we are at the Narew, a nearly 500 km long river which has its source in Belarus. It belongs to the river system of the Vistula. If you would let yourself drift here, you would be at the Baltic Sea in a few days. Hoje 18/09 realizamos mais uma ação com nossos parceiros LBV (@lbvbrasil), CUFA PR (@cufa_pr) Foram atendidas 53 famílias que vivem na Vila Terra Santa, no bairro Tatuquara. O local é fruto de uma ocupação irregular que teve início no final dos anos 90. A maioria das moradias são construídas de forma improvisada, algumas não tem nem ao menos banheiro e outras estão localizadas a menos de 10 metros de uma linha férrea. Crianças, jovens, adultos e idosos convivem noite e dia com a circulação dos Trens que passam constantemente pela localidade. As famílias reclamam das condições que enfrentam diariamente: desemprego, falta de comida em casa, muita poeira - que ocasiona sérios problemas de saúde - e principalmente reclamam que se sentem esquecidas pela sociedade. Mas hoje foi uma tarde diferente para elas, que puderam sentir o carinho, o acolhimento e a solidariedade de todos. A LBV mais uma vez contribuiu para que a doação chegasse até a Vila Terra Santa. Foi entregue aproximadamente 1,5 toneladas de doações, entre cestas de alimentos não perecíveis, cestas verdes (legumes, frutas e verduras) e kits com produtos de limpeza, arrecadados com o apoio dos parceiros Mesa Brasil (@sesc_pr) e Banco de Alimentos (CEASA). Para esse atendimento contamos com a parceria fundamental das organizações sociais CUFA PR (@cufa_pr) nos do projeto nos colocamos a disposição ao apoio necessário para a organização da entrega, fizemos a distribuição de máscaras, biscoitos e conseguimos o transporte das doações, por meio do projeto social Linha Solidária, do Sindicato das Empresas de Ônibus (Setransp - @empresasdeonibusdecuritiba). - @amigoscuritiba on Instagram
