2015 vs. 2020 SÉ TU PROPIA MOTIVACIÓN 📍(desliza para ver los cambios🍖💪🏼) En el año 2015 (fotos izquierda) fue el año que me rompí todos los ligamentos de la rodilla. Así se veía mi cuerpo sin hacer ejercicio, con 3 KG MENOS, y comiendo medianamente sano (no podia caminar, por eso las muletas de fondo 😂) OJO! Nunca me sentí “gorda”, pero si me sentía triste por haber perdido toda la masa muscular; diariamente pensaba: “qué bolas que cuando podía hacer todo, me daba ladilla, y ahora que de vaina camino con muletas, quiero hacer TODO”.. 2020, 5 años después (fotos derecha), revivo esos momentos del 2015 cada vez que pienso en el “no puedo” “me da Ladilla” “ay no, que ladilla comer sano y hacer ejercicio” ... ver esta foto es motivación pura para mi, y si, OBVIAMENTE 5 años es mucho tiempo, pero, ¿cuál es el apuro si quieres algo que te dure toda la vida? Sigo en el camino de aceptar mi cuerpo cada día más y entender que es distinto, pero JAMÁS dejaré de estar agradecida por volver a caminar, a entrenar, a subir escaleras, a jugar volley, a correr, a saltar cuerda... ¡a sentirme imparable! Tengamos paciencia y seamos agradecidos con lo que tenemos, sin abandonar el deseo de mejorar y ser una versión más arrecha de nosotros mismos cada día. T R A I N I N G S M O T I V A T I O N ❤️ . Guten Abend!😘 {Werbung} Es ist schon wieder vier Tage her, dass ich hier im Feed etwas hochgeladen habe. Schande über mich!? Nein! Ich bin aktuell 8-11h im Studio zum Arbeiten und fürs eigene Training und da meine Familie, meine Weiterbildung, der Haushalt und meine Diät nicht auf der Strecke bleiben soll, bin ich hier kürzer getreten.🙏🏼 Ich hoffe trotzdem, dass du gut in die neue Woche gestartet bist?☀️ . ❇️Heute möchte ich kurz das Thema „keine Motivation fürs Training“ ansprechen, da das wahrscheinlich JEDER mal durchlebt und das vollkommen normal ist!🙏🏼 Mein Tipp ist (und das mache ich auch in den meisten Fällen,) hierbei auf den Körper zu hören und das zu machen was ihm gerade gut tut. Sei es auch mal etwas ganz anderes oder einfach nur Bewegung.❤️ Tu das, wonach dir ist, nur mach etwas für dich, lasse diese Zeit, in der du in dich investierst, nicht einfach wegfallen. DU BIST ES WERT, DASS DU AUF DICH ACHTEST.🙏🏼 . ➡️Hier muss man natürlich unterscheiden, zwischen mal keine Motivation und wirklich Abgeschlagenheit. Im zweiten Fall würde ich immer dazu raten, auf die Signale des Körpers zu hören. Wenn dagegen alles soweit gut ist und man mal gerade nur etwas träge ist, kann und soll man ruhig mal probieren zu trainieren, vielleicht ändert sich dann dabei die Stimmung. Ist mir zumindest schon ziemlich oft passiert! Dir auch?😄 In solchen Fällen ➡️ HAB DEIN ZIEL KLAR VOR AUGEN, das hilft dir, auch mal in den sauren Apfel zu beißen.🍏 Und wie handhabst du es bzgl. Today is just one of those days. I don’t feel like doing anything. I’m experiencing every emotion under the sun and overall just feel ‘blah’. But we still have goals to obtain, so I at least got my workout in right after working out. Motivation is hard for me especially when I’m having a rough day. I’m working more on discipline over motivation and it’s hard! Sometimes it’s just as simple as remembering your goals to fuel the workout. For me, my goals are to overall be healthy. I want to feel stronger and be able to do things without saying ‘I can’t’. I want to be able to play with Dallas for as long as he wants without running out of energy. When I workout I overall feel better, so it’s a win win! While it didn’t change my mood today, at least I achieved one productive thing for the day! On one of those questions things I did on my story the other day, someone asked if RP was difficult bc it “seems really complicated”. My immediate response is no- anyone familiar with the concept of counting macros and meal prepping should find RP pretty straight forward. Yes, it takes time and energy. Yes, you pick the foods you eat (no meal plan). Yes, sometimes you won’t feel like eating “what you’re supposed to.” But if you’re not where you want to be (whether that’s aesthetically or performance-wise), you’ll do the work. Anytime I’m lacking motivation, I just remind myself of the total I plan on hitting by the end of the year. And I know I’m not going to get there unless I put in work OUTSIDE of the gym (not just during training). Rather than focusing on difficulty, focus on if it’s worth the work. At Tuff typically a client comes to us to help them with Body composition goals, and we achieve great results for them in this area. But as coaches our goal is helping them beyond what they look like. We want them to feel confident in the gym with all movements, and be able to move and function in daily life. We endeavour to help them do this pain free and without injury and hopefully be a better version of themselves than when they walked through the doors the first time. It is always rewarding to hear of these instances, and comments from other practitioners like Kim’s Chiropractor: “I have been treating Kim for the past 2 years with pelvic and back pain due to her pregnancy and carrying twins. Since joining Tuff Team her progress has increased significantly. She now has 90% mobility and her posture has improved drastically”. Kim has been training with us now for 3 months! Shoulders and hiit! Trying to make my knee work through some of the stupidity it’s decided to partake in, like swelling and making my foot go numb 🤦🏻♀️locking up, refusing to straighten out, popping when I I straighten it, you know, stupid injury stuff. It did pop good at the gym today and the big knot I was feeling in the back, has disappeared... that’s seems like a good thing to me. 🤷🏻♀️ I went heavy today, so very short sets for the most part. 1. Lateral raises, dropset my final set 2. Military press, dropset final set 3. Upright row with dumbbells 4. Overhead press dumbbells (got one rep PR 60s) thanks for the spot @mealprepmorgan 5. Kneeling lateral raises front grip superset to 6. Kneeling static hold lateral raises neutral grip 7. Kneeling face pull 8. Cable C crunch, side to side variation 9. Stability plank on bosu 10. What is one thing you don’t see in these transformation pictures? 🤔 . 👉🏼The uncomfortable moments to achieve the “look” on the right. I have went through multiple dieting phases, and multiple bulking phases. I have taken time off, weeks, months from having visible abs, my thighs rubbing together, my sports bra’s feeling too tight, and leggings that wouldn’t fit me😢I had days where I felt great, and days that I felt like a plump🐷There were days that I weighed in normal and some days I would have a 5 lb increase…. . But those times are necessary to possibly get the physique that you are searching for. I had someone ask me if I would share about how I would overcome the times that I would be bulking, eating in a surplus, clothes not fitting, feeling unmotivated. . My answer: I didn’t overcome but I allowed myself to feel uncomfortable and kept telling myself it will be worth it👌🏼The best thing that helped me was being motivated more than EVER in the gym and putting all those calories to good use💪🏼I bought new clothes that made me feel comfortable. I enjoyed myself, had plenty of untracked meals because that is the time to let loose. One big thing that could help you is to stop weighing yourself everyday! 👏🏼(some days were not good for me either) This can be very hard for people, but if you want to grow muscle, the scale will go up. . So my reminder is when you see these transformation pictures of anyone on social media, don’t think that it was easy for them. We all start somewhere. This lifestyle has truly saved me. It’s taught me to never give up just because things are hard. It’s showed me that I’m the ONLY person who can truly put action toward my goals. It’s helped me see that falling down doesn’t have to be a bad thing. When I started truly getting into fitness in 2015, I had no idea what I was doing. I went to the gym because I felt like I had to. I’d do some bicep curls and cardio and call it a day. I was honestly just trying to compensate for the fact that I didn’t want to take care of myself in any other sense, so occasional workouts would keep that ground covered. Fast forward to 2017 and I was suffocating in it all. I took something so beautiful and made it toxic because I thought extremes were the only answer. The smaller, the better. The more calories I could burn, the better. The less I weighed, the better. The end of 2019 is when I had this moment. That moment where I realize that no matter how hard I wanted to fake it until I made it, I needed to actually start DOING IT. I took my control back and I stopped letting numbers and anxiety rule my head. I stepped into FREEDOM. into a LIFESTYLE. Diätupdate ! 🖤 #diet Ja die letzte Woche ging jetzt richtig was! Das linke Bild ist vom 27.07. (erster Tag der Diät). Ich hatte 60,7kg. Das rechte Bild ist von heute morgen. 57,5kg. Beide natürlich auf nüchternen Magen sofort nach dem Aufstehen. Das wäre dann ein Durchschnitt von 640Gramm pro Woche. Und ich denke das kann sich sehen lassen 😊 Dietface kommt übrigens auch schon bissl und die Hamsterbacken gehen weg 🐰😂 Aktuelle Hungerlage? Yes. Hunger ist da. Also er ist echt zum aushalten und nicht schlimm. Aber ich merke doch, dass ich mehr essen könnte.🤤 Trainingslage? Läuft👌🏻 Jedes Training ist motivierend. Der neue Plan is der hammer und die Kraft ist voll da! Ein, zwei Tage hatte ich bisher an denen ich einfach viel erschöpfter war. Aber das ist normal! Nicht jeder Tag ist gleich 😊 Gefühlslage? I was at work serving some drinks and started talking to a client. I found out that he had just arrived to Malta couple of weeks ago and that he had had been a triathlete in the past. He told me he hadnt trained for about 4 years and I told him about my training, races and so on. I told him he could join our group to train if he wished. But he was hesitant because its been a long time. The next day, so I found out from his friend working with me, the guy went for a run and a sea swim early morning! Idk about y’all but I am READY for October. October through December are my favorite months. As the holidays quickly approach, some of us worry we’ll get off track and lose the progress we’ve made in the previous months. My advice is to maintain a balance- ALWAYS! You don’t have to neglect yourself of the pumpkin Reeses, pecan pies, or the Chick Fil A peppermint milkshakes (all of my fav things if anyone wants to surprise me😂). Stay active, drink your water, and treat yourself! Life is a balance and fitness is a lifestyle. You have your whole life ahead of you to make those gains. In anything and everything that you do, someone will have an opinion Someone won’t approve Whether it’s an Instagram troll or even a family member or coworker There will be people who feel entitled to tell you how to live your life, how to dress, or how to act One thing all of us ladies and gents have experienced (and I’ve seen more of recently) are commenters feeling like they have a say in what you do with your body👀 If a girl wants to put on muscle, why shame her? If a guy doesn’t want a six pack, why is that a bad thing? If someone isn’t deemed ‘fit’ enough they’re encouraged to go to the gym But they can’t be too fit because then they’ll be told to eat a cheeseburger Then we wonder why a lot of people are scared to start a fitness instagram, or take photos at the gym, or even go to the gym at all . I don’t care if you think you’re being helpful, it’s most likely hurtful No matter how you say “I like the before better, just being honest” it’s still going to be a backhanded compliment and chip away at the confidence of someone . I’m not talking about just me, I’ve seen a lot of this on Instagram lately and I’ve had people tell me We all start somewhere, let’s start with being encouraging and kind and compassionate towards one another . All summer long Ive been dealing with some fucked up tan lines. The first one was so bad because I fell asleep and forgot to apply sunscreen and it burnt both my arms and made them look like hot cheetos. Literally hot to the touch when I got home. Actually they’re important for anyone who’s beginning their fitness journey! I’ve said this many times but it’s true, the start is hard & absolutely sucks but it gets easier as you get fitter & you start feeling great before you know it! I’m not naturally a motivated person, I have to create it every single day. Some days I don’t have it & don’t feel like working out & some days it’s impossible to workout even if I WANT to - my babies need their Mumma & they are of course my priority. First comparison - Day 1 of 75 Hard vs Day 1 of Phase 1. Second comparison - the past 8 weeks of the Summer Sprint challenge. I completed 75 hard (after two failures and over 100 days from when I first set out to do it) the same week that the Summer Sprint Challenge started. I had been in a caloric deficit essentially for 3+ months, so I was ready to try to maintain for this challenge. I was a little nervous since A. I have never been great at “maintaining” and B. I was coming off of 75 Hard and was nervous I’d rebound. I’m pretty damn proud of myself for maintaining within literally 3-4lbs of the results I achieved when I finished 75 Hard. I’m WAY better at losing fat than I am at maintaining. I definitely have a history of yo-yo dieting, so even if my abs aren’t popping *as* much as they were on my last days of 75 Hard, I really don’t care because I don’t expect them to... especially when I increased my calories from fuel sources (carbs and fats) and certainly could have indulged less in some days! I think what honestly made all the difference was continuing to track my macros this entire time. Even the junk foods and alcohol. It all got tracked. This really helped me prevent one overindulgent day from turning into an overindulgent WEEK... which is what I usually would have done. So since this challenge is over, if you are afraid of gaining any weight back or losing the progress you’ve made... make a promise to yourself that you will continue to monitor your food choices and track, in some fashion. Even if that is eyeballing portions! You do not have to track macros forever, but what gets measured gets manage. And it’s very easy to overestimate or underestimate what you’re consuming every day if you’re not managing it in some fashion. Osteoporosis in women is waaaaay more common and something that teenage girls should start prevention for! Weight bearing/resistance training helps increase bone density in order to strengthen bones and reduce the risk of osteoporosis in older age! I honestly wish I knew this when I was around 16 because I would’ve started way earlier!! Cardio puts only a little bit of pressure and resistance on the bones, but have a heavy load helps break down, repair, and STRENGTHEN your bones! It’s so importaaannnntttttt!! I took the picture on the left three years ago and I remember being so upset with my weight that morning. I went from 98 to 100lbs and I immediately had a meltdown. It was like a switch went off - I was so excited to be in the gym and then I wanted to throw myself on the ground and hide under the surface. All.. because.. the SCALE? FUCK THAT. Listen, I have been there. I would weight myself 3 times a day. I would wait hours to drink water just to avoid “bloat.” I would do hours of cardio to compensate for a “mistake.” I would pin my entire worth on a number. Sound like you? Letting the scale dictate if it will be a good day or a bad day. Letting the scale tell you if you’re allowed to be happy or not. I cannot even think about the times I cried over the scale - it kills me. It kills me to know so many people still struggle with this. LET ME TELL YOU A SECRET - The scale doesn’t mean shit. The scale is an objective point of data to follow fluctuations in your overall fitness journey. I am absolutely terrible at CrossFit... which is exactly why I’m starting to love it. Each workout poses a new challenge. I have to do skills I haven’t even known the name of until a few weeks ago... My body resists the correct form for certain movements... I get in my own head about the fact that I can’t do things they way they’re supposed to be done... It drives me absolutely CRAZY! 🌀Diet Update🌀 . Well I have been at it since April🙌🏼I have had multiple (8-10) untracked meals along with 1 full week of a diet break. I am happy with my results! Current info below: . 📍Macros/Calories: 1688kcal– 52f – 180c – 125p . 📍Lifting split: 5 days a week – I have incorporated 1 extra rest day for a total of 2 rest days. 📍Cardio: currently 30 minutes fasted 5 days a week -incline treadmill – aiming for 15k steps a day, but lower on rest days. . 📍Weight Starting: 142lbs Current: 125lbs . What I wish I would have done differently in the beginning of this cut… well a lot🤨I was eating wayyyy more protein in the beginning. Once I switched to .8g/lb of body weight for protein, my weight has been dropping like crazy. I increased carbs to keep my calories the same. I also kept my macros the same every day even on rest days (typically would shoot for lower carb/higher fat on rest days). 👉🏼Everything is always trial and error. I have learned my body loves carbs and drops weight better. . 🌟My current plan… start decreasing cardio each week as part of my reverse, and raising calories👆🏼I will update you on my stories along the way! Well. I’ll just say it. I’ve been #inmyfeelings a lot lately. Duke turning one, new city, missing my parents, family, friends ALL THE THINGS! And workouts have been hard lately without my workout partner @jak.russell (traveling) and I just miss CrossFit!!! Man, it was such a huge part of my life for 10 years!! Don’t get me wrong, I chose not to join a CF here because of the flexibility and motivation I’ve found in my home gym but there are some things that just can’t be replicated. The smell of the gym at 5am, the feeling of a heavy barbell, I miss my hands bleeding from pull-ups, I miss white chalk all over my car, I miss the encouraging community, and mostly, I miss working out with my dad. PULL UPS // ... are challenging AF the act of pulling your body weight up and above an object is empowering and signifies that you are able to overcome your body’s mass from a pulling standpoint. the strict pull-up with pronated grip (hands facing away) requires and builds strength in a lot of different areas: arms, lats, back, shoulders. awesome, right? BUT how do we get there? i use banded assistance in a lot of the training and progressions for my clients - attach a band to the pull-up bar, put one foot in the band, wrap the other leg in front and use the band to assist you in performing strict pull-up repetitions. just like the amazing @antoinette.broadhurst here! there are different thicknesses of bands that provide increasing to decreasing levels of help. the thicker the band, the more assistance it’s going to provide. as my clients progress, the thicker bands turn into thinner bands. then we build on strict pulling strength WHILE using these aids in both skill work and their workouts. eventually (gradually) the bands will disappear and soon @antoinette.broadhurst will be performing strict pull-ups on her own! sounds simple, doesn’t it?! well, again, don’t confuse simple with easy. it may take months or even years to develop the strength needed to do an unassisted pull-up. additionally, body weight can come into play. if you are on a weight loss journey, the COMBINATION of losing body weight AND the pull-up work described above will be a key to your result. the goal of achieving a [unassisted] pull-up is quite common amongst my clients; and that’s not a bad thing! being able to control and move your body through space, overcoming gravity, and pulling yourself UP is extremely functional and should be part of everyone’s training. have an amazing weekend 💪🏽 - @thefitnesspursuit_byjoannam on Instagram

Back when I use to work for Equinox as a trainer, I struggled to pick up female clients. Every time I’d meet with them, they’d tell me they didn’t want to get too muscular, too bulky, too much. 90 % of them had never been in the weight room before. As a young 22 year old, new to the personal training world, this was extremely frustrating. I could tell my physical presence (as a relatively muscular woman) wasn’t helping. I struggled to convey to them that they wouldn’t look like me if they started weight training. I’m 6 ft tall, 180 lbs. Weight training doesn’t turn you into that. With more experience and confidence in myself (both in my own body & as a trainer), I’ve gotten better about explaining genetics, nutrition, and what weight training really will do for you. It’ll help you build nice curves, it won’t necessarily make you bigger (unless you’re eating that way), it’ll help you build tons of confidence, and it’ll help you be the best version of yourself. How many of you are choosing or not choosing a coach/trainer simply because of what their body looks like? While I do believe it’s important that we look like we practice what we preach (because we do), there’s many things you should consider before selecting your coach to ultimately help you be the best you can be. Is your trainer providing workouts or a training program? Workouts are short term, make you sweat, feel the burn, send you on your way. A training program is the long term picture and a map designed to get you to your destination in a safe, productive manner. Is your trainer forcing a one size fits all approach or keeping an open mind as they work with you? A great trainer will meet you where you’re at, understanding that what might work for them might not work best for you. Is your trainer working with you on your mindset or just telling you to suck it up and work harder? A great trainer will teach and inspire you how to push yourself outside your comfort zone, but also remind you to be kind to yourself when things don’t go as planned. It’s Fight Week, so we’re talking about acute weight loss methods practiced by combat athletes! . One method utilized is “water loading” for several days prior to restricting fluids and participating in an active dehydration to cut water weight. One study by Reid Reale examined the safety and efficacy of this practice and had the water loading group consume 100ml of water/ kg of body weight for 3 days. The water loading group had increased body water loss compared to the control group and they also believe that water loading had an effect on protein channels in the kidneys that allowed for more water loss even after water restriction. Overall, they determined it is a safe and effective method for acute weight loss (done under appropriate and controlled conditions). . Acute methods implemented during this time need to be specifically tailored to the individual athlete. It’s important to seek the help of a registered dietitian/health professional before engaging in these practices! . back bis abs - happy labor day weekend yall!! just a reminder that just because it is a holiday weekend doesn’t mean you should feel guilty about what you’re eating, and then resort to doing extra cardio during the week to make up for it. one weekend will not ruin your progress!! . other than that i’m sharing this wonderful workout i did yesterday and since i’ve increased my weights my body is FEELING it😭my bicep literally locked in place during this and it was terrifying but we recovered from that😖 . i also wanted to share the meaning of my back tattoo since i dont think i ever mentioned it! basically it’s a lotus flower and a lotus flower basically grows on water in the dark. for some religions, including mine, lotus represents rebirth and enlightenment. for me, this tattoo is a symbol of coming from a dark past, and still being able to flourish/ grow! so obviously this tattoo is very meaningful to me and i sorta wanna go in and have it colored/ shaded☺️☺️anywayyyy hope you all enjoy this workout👊🏽 . . complete 3 tri/supersets: (8-12 reps) SA kneeling cable pull down concentration curl hanging leg raises seated pull downs shoulder tap-pike pushups single DB bicep curl double crunch leg raises . Der Grundumsatz ist die Höhe an Kalorien, die dein Körper für grundlegende Funktionen benötigt. Er ist unter Anderem von diesen Faktoren abhängig: Alter, Geschlecht, Körpergewicht, Körpergröße und deinem Muskelanteil. 🙎🏼♀️🙎🏽♂️Neben dem Grundumsatz ist dein individueller Leistungsumsatz wichtig. Es ist die Energiehöhe, die über den Grundumsatz hinausgeht. Also die Kalorien die dein Körper zusätzlich verbrennt. Die Summe aus deinem Grund - & Leistungsumsatz ergibt deinen Energieverbrauch. Diesen kannst du steigern, indem du deinen Leistungsumsatz steigerst. Das kann ganz leicht über kleine Änderungen im Alltag erfolgen: zum Beispiel Spazieren gehen, Treppen steigen statt Aufzug fahren oder auch Sport. 🏃🏻♂️Wer also sein Gewicht halten will, sollte die Menge an Kalorien pro Tag essen, die auch der Höhe des Energieverbrauchs entspricht. Aber wie findet man seinen Energieverbrauch heraus? 🤔 Schätzt zunächst euren Kalorienbedarf und haltet euch für drei Wochen an diese Menge. Ich empfehle euch an der Stelle mit einer Tracking App zu arbeiten, zum Beispiel My Fitness Pal, da Lebensmittel beim groben Abschätzen der Kalorien entweder unter - aber auch überschätzt werden. An dem Tag an dem ihr startet, wiegt ihr euch morgens auf nüchternen Magen und haltet euer Gewicht schriftlich fest. 📝 Das wiederholt ihr mehrmals innerhalb der drei Wochen. Wichtig ist, dass ihr euch immer zur gleichen Uhrzeit, auf der gleichen Waage und auf nüchternen Magen wiegt. Lasst euch von Schwankungen nicht beeinflussen, das ist normal. building muscle takes... 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞. I started lifting 6-7 years ago, and I may look muscular in this photo, but when I’m just walking around outside the gym I don’t look like this 🤷🏼♀️ 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐬: great lighting flexing hard a nasty pump after eating a very high sodium/carb meal the night before (Texas de Brazil 😋) females naturally can gain 0.5-1 pound of muscle per month. for men it’s more like double that. & there are a lot of factors that will come into play with that. the most important things you need to do to gain muscle (this goes for growing your booty too!!🍑) •have a solid training program & consistency in the gym (including compound movements hopefully, & increasing demands over time) •eat enough calories and protein. how can you expect to grow if you aren’t eating enough to fuel your current body? & have no energy in the gym? •SLEEP 😴 this is when your muscles recover. If you aren’t getting enough sleep you are doing yourself a disservice in so many areas. •stop doing crazy amounts of cardio. I used to think I just needed to run/do cardio to get the fit look I was trying to achieve.... it didn’t work. I was skinny with no muscle definition or strength. I needed to gain some muscle first 💪🏻 if you’re in a sport that requires a lot of cardio, you’ll just need to eat more! 🥔🍌🥚🍗🌯🥑 - @dietitian.em.b on Instagram
