5 years ago today, right about now... Mao, Chiri & Miri became part of our family & changed our lives forever! Mao had kind of adopted our home a couple months earlier, but like a good Mama Cat, she switched homes to protect her little kittens. She still kept coming by for a visit & snack everyday. And then finally, when we realised the adult tom cats were targeting the little ones... we brought them home! Its hard to believe Mao isnt with us anymore... I keep expecting her to meow loudly & demand to be let in... or out (depending on what side of the door she is!) Chiri, of course, is still having adventures in the great outdoors & still complains loudly if breakfast is late! Our 3-year-old rescue-hound babies, Scout (left) and Quinn (right). We believe Scout is part terrier (maybe Pit Bull) and part Whippet, though she herds a *lot* and is about 36% feral. Quinn may be a Great Pyrenees-Treeing Walker Coonhound mix. Only 9% feral, and smarter than her sister (except about finding/getting food and comfort, which is where we see Scouts IQ triple). Scout was found alone, having been a stray for awhile, in Alabama. Quinn was found in a vacant lot in Arkansas with her mother and siblings. They are both very, very sweet. Så fikk man brått den sterkeste påminnelsen om hvor fort noe kan bli den siste gang.I dag måtte vi avlive min bestevenn og hund Boy pga sykdom. Han har vært der uansett de siste 10 årene. Hver eneste gang jeg har vært nede mentalt så la han seg oppå meg og passet på. Det var nesten sånn at han visste det før meg at jeg hadde det vanskelig. Når jeg kom hjem fra ekspedisjoner så la han seg alltid i senga og sørga for at jeg landa. Når jeg ikke var hjemme, gikk han nesten hver eneste dag ned på rommet for å se etter meg. Uten Boy hadde jeg ikke valgt livet når det stormet som værst. Å se hvordan han gikk fra å være verdens gladeste gutt til å forfalle på få timer er noe av det tyngste, men nå skal du få hvile ordentlig. Håper du får løpe mye hvor enn du ender. Quando a Marie loup chegou na nossa casa, ouvi muitas vezes: “essa raça é muito brava”, “não se dá bem com outro cachorro” coisas parecidas... Li alguns livros sobre cachorros e adestramento, estava com pouco de receio, não nego. Porém quando ela chegou tudo mudou. A gente percebeu o quanto ela era carinhosa e docil. Hoje eu fico ainda mais surpresa com a paciência que essa cachorra tem com o pequeno Niki Langelo. Que morde ela, dorme por cima dela, não deixa ela descansar e tal. SELF-CARE POST: August was a bad month. A terrible month. Shitty things happened at home with our family, one after another. Then our computer stopped working and we were unable to edit and post more Youtube videos. I stopped doing a lot of the things I love doing like gardening, watching my favorite shows, cooking. I also stopped taking care of myself. I was constantly coping with the situation at hand, but it was getting increasingly dark and overwhelming. Even when I tried extremely hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, sometimes the light is so dim that no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t see it. So I broke down. I fell apart. Working from home also made it hard to separate personal matters from professional matters. . I decided to take a break from posting on Youtube while I get my computer fixed. I started to feel a bit more myself this week and started my self-care routine again by exercising, eating healthier, dressing up more, and spending more quality time with my husband. I also started journaling this week. I regularly wrote in my journal in high school but have not done that since then. Starting that up again has brought me a great deal of joy and serenity. I also plan to start meditating this week. Meditating allows you to increase awareness of yourself and of your surroundings. It helps you process your thoughts and helps you grow. I feel that if you are not growing, then you are not moving forward. Life is meant to be lived! To keep learning and to keep growing! - @tubbyandchubbybunnies on Instagram

When your leg is broken but it’s ok because you have a goat for a 5th limb. 😅 Yes, our little Sally Snowflurries LOVES her Moonshadow Shimmerglow.
