Fotos feitas antes e depois das queimadas no Pantanal de Mato Grosso mostram a devastação no entorno da Rodovia Transpantaneira, que liga o município de Poconé, a 104 km de Cuiabá, a Porto Jofre, na divisa com Mato Grosso do Sul. Incêndios destroem o bioma há 3 meses, provocando alertas climáticos, a morte de animais e a retirada de indígenas de seus territórios. A Transpantaneira tem 150 km de extensão e é conhecida por ser um atrativo turístico da região. Ela cruza a maior planície alagável do planeta. As imagens feitas antes das queimadas, na época das chuvas, mostram a biodiversidade da região. Agora, a paisagem é de deserto, com a mata em cinzas. Uma das áreas atingidas, o Parque Estadual Encontro das Águas perdeu 85% da cobertura vegetal. Segundo o Instituto Centro Vida (ICV), ao todo, os incêndios já destruíram uma área de 92 mil hectares do parque, que tem 108 mil hectares. O Parque Estadual Encontro das Águas é conhecido por deter a maior concentração de onças-pintadas do mundo. Turistas de todo o mundo vão ao local fazer observação de onças-pintadas a bordo de barcos. De acordo com análise do ICV, as onças-pintadas, que já são ameaçadas de extinção, agora também são ameaçadas pelas queimadas. Dados do Prevfogo, o Centro Nacional de Prevenção e Combate aos incêndios florestais do Ibama, em 2020 mostram que a área queimada no Pantanal já passou de 2,3 milhões de hectares, sendo 1,2 milhão em Mato Grosso e mais de 1 milhão em Mato Grosso do Sul. Essa área de mais de 2 milhões representa quase 10 vezes o tamanho das cidades de São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro juntas. Nesta semana o governo decretou situação de emergência em Mato Grosso. O decreto irá valer por 90 dias, podendo ser prorrogado. O governo federal prometeu liberou nesta terça-feira (15) recursos para combate às chamas no estado e no Mato Grosso do Sul. . . Voluntourism: traveling and volunteering “Wherever you turn, you can find someone who needs you. Even if it is a little thing, do something for which there is no pay but the privilege of doing it. Remember, you don’t live in the world all of your own.” ~Albert Schweitzer Link in bio :) When you sign up for one of these websites, you will be asked a series of questions about your skill set, interests, education, spoken languages, etc. You will also have to complete a profile with an introduction for hosts to look at, including your interests and hobbies, a photo (very important), and whatever other information you feel like adding. If you’re at a loss as to what to write, there are many examples you can find online to use as a jumping-off point. Once you have filled out your profile, you can begin searching for a host. It’s a good idea to do some research into what type of volunteer position you want, as well as include your skill set in your profile- this helps narrow down the search to positions you are interested in and qualified for. For example, if you want to learn more about construction, you can specifically look for hosts that are seeking help building or renovating. Many positions don’t require any previous experience, but I have seen some specific requests popping up recently, such as a painter, graphic designer, yoga teacher, etc. When I was looking for a volunteer job, the location was most important to me. I used mainly Workaway, and was able to enter the continent, country, region, and even use a map to zoom in and narrow down the area of my search. Another trick is to use keywords for a specific type of job (ex: animal, surf, hostel, park). Something I really encourage you to do is to spend time in the review section of the host.. Es una experiencia única, estar en medio de kilómetros y kilómetros de arena anaranjada y nada más es una sensación increible. . . Merzouga es un pequeño pueblo al sureste de Marruecos a unos 20km de la frontera con Argelia. Es conocido por la inmensidad de sus dunas. Algunas de estas formaciones llegan a superar los 200 metros de altura y cambian de color dependiendo de la hora del día. Por eso ver el atardecer y el amanecer des de sus dunas es precioso. . . Merzouga se encuentra en el Sahara, lejos de la contaminación urbana y lumínica, por lo que, por la noche se puede ver a la perfección el cielo estrellado. La noche que pasé allí, la luna iluminaba tanto que hacia incluso dificil ver todas las estrellas. Pero no hacía falta linternas para poder caminar por la arena, nunca he visto la luna brillar tanto. _________________________________ Spending a night in the desert is what I liked the most about my trip to Morocco. Huacachina es un pequeño oasis (el único en Sudamérica) que posee una laguna con agua de color verde y que a su alrededor hay una gran vegetación llena de palmeras, huarangos, eucaliptos, etc. ¿Dónde se encuentra Huacachina? Se encuentra a 5 kms al oeste de la ciudad peruana de Ica en el medio del desierto de la región y a 350 km al sur de Lima. ¿Cómo llegar a Huacachina? 🚌 Primero deberás llegar a Lima y luego podrás viajar en autobús hasta Ica durante un trayecto que tarda entre 4 a 5 horas. 🚕 Una vez en Ica, el trayecto a Huacachina dura 10 minutos en taxi. Los choferes en la terminal de autobuses te cobrarán alrededor de 10 soles. ¿Qué actividades hacer en Huacachina? Practicar deportes de aventura: En este lugar podrás realizar sandboard o pasear en carros areneros a través de las dunas, que empiezan hacer “trompos” por el desierto, como si se tratase de una montaña rusa. Visitar las dunas para ver el atardecer: Podés llegar a pie subiendo las dunas para contemplar la increíble vista del atardecer o al final del tour de los buggys. Pasear por la laguna de aguas verdes: Sus aguas cuentan con propiedades curativas. Se realizan paseos en bote a pedales por la laguna. 🛏¿Dónde hospedarse en Huacachina? Hay varios hoteles que rodean la laguna del Oasis desde los más económicos hasta algunos de mayor categoría. Muchos viajeros también prefieren quedarse en la ciudad de Ica en vez de en Huacachina dado que el número de alojamientos es mayor. 👉Consejos para viajar a Huacachina 💶Llevar dinero en efectivo ya que no hay cajeros automáticos. 🧴Llevar protector solar porque es un lugar muy soleado y seco, anteojos de sol y gorra para cubrirte. 📍🇵🇪 Panamericana Sur ¡¡NOS MUDAMOS!! 🗻👇🏼 Y así, resumimos más de 20 años en cajas y maletas, cargamos la camioneta y arrancamos la travesía Lima - Arequipa. Ha sido un viajecito largo, sobretodo porque habían varios tramos de la carretera siendo arreglados, pero nada como recorrer el país por tierra. Si están pensando hacer un roadtrip 🚙, aquí les dejamos unos tips: 1. Lleva el carro a un taller 🔧 para asegurarte que todo esté bien: aceite, frenos, llantas, etc. Nadie quiere quedarse varado en medio de la nada. 2. Arma tu loncherita de municiones 🍪 para que nunca te falta nada de comer ni tomar durante el trayecto. 3. Asegúrate de tener sencillo 💰 para el peaje (y cualquier eventualidad). En el tramo que hicimos nosotros hemos pasado 6 peajes gastando, más o menos, 60 soles. 4. Si el tramo es largo o sales tarde, lo mejor es hacer una parada para descansar. Nosotros dividimos el viaje en dos partes parando a dormir en Nasca (5 horas el primer día y casi 9 el segundo) ⏳ 5. No esperes a que tu tanque esté casi vacío para poner gasolina ⛽ Hay partes largas donde no se encuentran grifo y, aún cuando los hay, puede que no todos tengan la gasolina que usas. ¿A que son sorprendentes? Descubre las montañas del arco iris del Geoparque Mundial de la UNESCO de Zhangye. Zhangye está situado en la ciudad de Zhangye, en la provincia de Gansu, un importante municipio de la antigua Ruta de la Seda, ruta comercial entre China y Occidente. El Geoparque, que cuenta con 577 sitios culturales, es testigo de la historia de la ciudad, que alberga a varios grupos étnicos minoritarios con su cultura y tradiciones distintivas. Extendiéndose a lo largo de la ladera norte de la Montaña Qilian en el oeste de China, la característica más notable del Geoparque de Zhangye son sus coloridas colinas. Son el mejor ejemplo de la forma de la tierra de Danxia de China, formada por areniscas brillantes. Mi querido maestro, Jesús Blanco “Totoño”, uno de los seres más amables y bondadosos que he conocido en mi vida. Cuando comencé mis estudios de percusión (seriamente), fue en el desaparecido núcleo de San Agustin del sur, en las residencia Jardín Botánico. Los dos maestros de redoblante eran Benigno y Totoño, en cubículos contiguos a la misma hora. Aún que mi clase me la daba Benigno, Totoño nos ayudaba a todos, a todo el alumnado, no solo como maestro, si no como padre, siempre nos regañaba si andábamos por ahí de ociosos, o si estábamos estudiando por ahí en un rincón. Yo siempre estudiaba en el escalón de cemento con mi baquetas vino tinto que teñían todo el conservatorio de manchas rojas por todas partes. Hasta que me descubrió y me dijo: Diego cómprate una goma por favor, que estás manchando todo el conservatorio. Nunca me la compre, por que el me la hizo y me la regalo. Totoño me enseño muchísimo, sobre todo respetar el instrumento y respetarnos a nosotros como gremio. Antes de mudarme a los Estados Unidos, siempre eme lo encontraba en Parque Central, y me decía que su nuevo amor era el cuatro, después de viejo me volví a enamorar de otro instrumento. Só entre janeiro e agosto deste ano, a Amazônia teve 48,1% do seu território tomado pelo fogo, contabilizando 64.499 focos de incêndio. Já o Cerrado veio logo atrás, com 28,2% do bioma em chamas. O Pantanal, apesar de ter uma percentual menor, de 12%, teve 14.764 focos de calor, e mesmo que a Amazônia tenha um número absoluto maior de focos de calor, o bioma pantaneiro é o mais atingido proporcionalmente por ter uma área 36 vezes menor. O período de seca e o desmonte da política ambiental e dos órgãos de fiscalização fez com que o cenário se agravasse ainda mais. Para se ter ideia, o aumento de queimadas nos nossos biomas é de quase 200%, levando em conta que em 2019. De janeiro pra cá houve um crescimento de 195% no número de incêndios detectadas no Pantanal comparando com o mesmo período do ano passado. El Parque Nacional Sajama está ubicado en el Departamento de Oruro y fronteriza con el Parque Nacional Lauca de Chile. El Parque Nacional es uno de los destinos turísticos más importantes de Bolivia, se encuentra ubicado en plena Cordillera Occidental de los Andes y es el primer Área Protegida del país, Está situado en la provincia Sajama y es el espacio dedicado a la conservación de los ecosistemas altoandinos. En el conjunto, como atractivo natural se destaca el Nevado Sajama, volcán inactivo, cuya altitud es de 6542 m.s.n.m., es el pico más alto de Bolivia el cual se constituye en una de las rutas más codiciadas por los andinistas, alrededor del mismo se extienden amplios bosques y praderas en donde se observa fauna silvestre propia de la zona. También se encuentran los nevados Payachatas, el bosque de queñuas (árboles que crecen a mayor altitud en el mundo), la Laguna Huayñakota, Maya, la cadena de geisers de Juchusuma Sajama vertientes en ebullición, zona en la que se puede observar la emanación de aguas calientes del subsuelo y aguas termales. Machu Picchu y la leyenda del rostro en las montañas ⛰️✨ 🇵🇪 Siempre he tenido esa duda del porqué se visualiza el rostro de un inca y aquí te cuento un poquitin: 🗺️ Cuenta la leyenda que el Inca Pachacuteq después de vencer a sus enemigos “los chankas”, llevó el cuerpo inerte del líder enemigo ante su padre como ofrenda de su triunfo. Sin embargo, a Wiracocha, su padre, no le pareció algo digno y repudió los actos de su hijo menor advirtiéndole que el verdadero sucesor a Inca del Tahuantinsuyo seria su primogénito “Inca Urco”. Con la ira contenida por lo sucedido, Pachacuteq huyó del lugar para planificar y concretar la muerte de su hermano mayor, además de conspirar contra Wiracocha para auto-proclamarse Inca Gobernante del Imperio. Desterrado y enviado a vivir en soledad Wiracocha murió, y Pachacuteq mandó a embalsamar su cuerpo para exhibirlo en un templo dentro de la Ciudad Sagrada de Machu Picchu. Es aquí que la leyenda cuenta que el espíritu de Wiracocha, ya en reino de “uku pacha” (mundo de los muertos) aún con ira hacia su hijo, trató de subir al kay pacha (mundo de los vivos) para recriminarle por sus actos de odio dirigidas hacia él y su hermano mayor, pero en su intento de huida solo pudo sacar su rostro. Finalmente, los dioses que reinaban el mundo de los muertos atraparon a Wiracocha en su huida y como castigo convirtieron su rostro en montañas, estas son las que hoy se pueden apreciar detrás del recinto inca de Machu Picchu. ¿Lo sabías? 🤔 🗺️ Existen otras teorías también : MaPi ha sido creada por extraterrestres, solo es un conjunto de montañas, es la naturaleza, entre otras. Were back! We at WAT took a bit of a break on the Insta front of late. We have a lot on the docket. So, we’ve been busy behind the scenes. ​ 💃 ​One such project is a roll-out of new trips to be added to our now set seven. Look for those announcements soon. We are also busy prepping a podcast and a few other jazzy media projects. ​💃 ​Regardless of what’s coming around the bend, we believe everyone, especially women need to take a break from time to time. 💃 Be it work or a routine that needs revisiting, freshening up the pot and your own mind, body, spirit and schedule are essential for thrive-al. ​ 💃 ​Shaking up the daily certainly does the trick or taking a wee break is great. For me, the greatest reset is in the getaway. 💃 Dali Lama even said so himself, to go somewhere youve never been before. ​ ​I really get who I am on every level when I surround myself with people Ive never met before. They see me at face value. They may see a reflection that I no longer see myself. ​ 💃 ​Due to all of the behind the scenes busy-ness Ive been doing, I have not been going away as often nor as voraciously as I usually do. I had to remind myself to give myself a break from that obligation and enjoyment as well. Today, we’re driven even in our joy. If its a should, it ruins what could...be. ​💃 ​I am living in the moment, planning for this fierce feminine future that I hope you all take part in, in one way or twelve ;-). ​ 💃 We do have a lot coming around the bend that I am most excited about.
