La despedida / The parting De la serie Espacios de Memoria / Memory Spaces , 2020, tinta permanente sobre papel manufacturado, 46 ​​x 37 cm  Galleria Continua is pleased to present the online show of #OsvaldoGonzales Donde reposa la mirada / Where the gaze rests, by Cuban artist Osvaldo González. _ The exhibition is part of Osvaldo Gonzálezs constant research into the representation of spaces and all the symbolic and affective power they possess, trying to bring us closer to an experience of a physical and also spiritual nature. Among other series of works it showcases five installations made of adhesive tape on Plexiglass and lights - common materials in the artists work- and a set of ink drawings on manufactured paper. _ The central idea of the installations emerged during the recent period of confinement, which became a kind of compulsory worldwide lock-in. This new series of works presents a slight change of perspective in relation to the previous ones as there is a shift in the position from which the artist observes and represents: his obsession with interior scenes now turns towards the external landscape. Última semana de #canada2See com o tema #arquitetura 🏠. - Estamos numa área rural de Nova Scotia e o que temos por aqui são os clássicos casarões centenários das fazendas (Fotos 1 e 2). - São poucas as casas com com um desenho mais moderno - mas elas existem e são lindas! (Foto 3). - Além dos casarões, temos as cottages (chalés). A maioria delas não possui isolamento térmico, pois são utilizados apenas nos meses quentes. Mas, existe cottage com isolamento - como a que eu moro! (Fotos 4 e 5). - As casas, e algumas cottages, possuem porão - o basement. Toda rede de água e energia da casa fica nesse espaço (diferente do que temos no Brasil, em que os canos e a fiação são passados sobre a lage). Alguns deles fazem parte da casa ou até mesmo continuem outra casa! - Pra quem gosta dos programas do tipo irmãos na obra, o Canadá é um prato cheio! Eu tenho me aventurado! (Foto 6). A princípio seriam opções mais baratas que um hotel, mas nem sempre isso é verdade, porque alguns B&B são tão belos e charmosos que proporcionam aos hóspedes uma experiência mais genuinamente local, o que é bastante valorizado pelos viajantes mais exigentes. Part I She thought, she have had her best, done her best, with all the happiness and struggles. Now, this is whatever it is, she has to survive, she has to go through it like a dead soul, a living being without feelings. She thought this to be the only way to be little less hurt. In that gloomy night with clear blue sky, where the only voice was of wind, sitting in that little corner of the house, with her hair messed up and blank faced. She seems to be tired, tired of her life, tired of every hope. Besides her faith on her creator she has tried everything. Looking down from her window, when the sky looked like a barren land and the city looked like a glowing sky where infinite stars are shinning, she was thinking of her life, which seemed exactly like this sky and earth, all opposite. A year ago: She was a doctor in practice, with a loving husband and 2 kids, usually busy in his job and writings as she was a writer by passion. Being a carrer conscious she used to spend most of her time in hospital and was unable to give her time to her family. It was their 4th wedding anniversary, he waited for her but, she was going to be late, she informed. He waited for her all night long, but she was not there. He woke up his kids early, made them ready and told them that they would be going to pick their mother so that she could not be late anymore. After doing all the stuff he left with his kids. She waited for him for 2 hours and he only came as a news and nothing more than that, never. She lost her family. Just a single small word accident and everything wiped off from her life. She never went back on that road, neither to the hospital.
