No precisamente de la biblia, señores. Pero ¿por qué la sociedad sólo acepta aquellas personas trans que puede sexualizar?, ¿por qué sólo validamos aquellas mujeres y hombres trans que cumplen con los cánones hegemónicos de belleza cis-heteronormativa? Recuerden, fetichizar mujeres y hombres trans NO es lo mismo que aceptarlxs. ¿Se han puesto a pensar en las personas trans que están en los medios?, ¿han notado que solo aceptan a las personas trans cuando pueden sexualizarlas?, ¿qué pasa con las trans que no “cumplen” con ese canon de belleza?, ¿no cuentan como personas?, ¿no somos válidas como mujeres?, ¿no somos reconocidas como mujeres si no cumplimos con esos requisitos? Pasa lo mismo en el caso de los chicos trans. Y aunque gran parte de las personas trans que tienen representatividad en los medios, son aclamadxs por su belleza normativa, es también cierto que no todas las personas trans lucimos así. La hiperfeminización, hipermasculinización e hipersexualización en los cuerpos trans, tiene diferentes motivos. Y ha sido una de las formas que hemos encontrado para sobrevivir e insertarnos en la sociedad. Nos construimos como podemos, de acuerdo a nuestras posibilidades y a nuestro contexto, pero no por eso somos menos válidas como personas. Las mujeres trans no somos machos perpetuando estereotipos de género machistas, como algunxs dicen. Somos conscientes de lo que representan esos estereotipos de belleza y lo que han significado para las mujeres. We had to live off the land (chickens, goats, water purification tablets etc.), hitting targets and gathering intel. It was a different time in 2001, and we had a purpose to be there after the attacks of 9/11. After 2003 it turned into soup gone bad. Political self-interest back home, and big defense spending to name a few of the issues. And America’s finest were ground up and spit out like scraps of meat left to rot on the butcher shop floor. So to all the Call of Duty Heroes out there who play tough guy on social media and weigh in on who served in what combat zone, and who shot what and who (etc), best to be thankful you weren’t there wetting your trousers on a night raid...hold your critique for things you are qualified to level an opinion on. And for the veterans who shit on each other. Get your act together. You’re not doing yourself, your colleagues, your family or the honor of service any good, only harm. There’s no shame in asking for help if you need it. But, seek a hand up, not a hand out. And remember it’s harder to be kind than a jerk. Being a jerk is easy, and why so many of them exist. Plenty of groups outside the VA you can go to for a helping hand. Overall, the veteran community needs more good people who do good things in life after service. So lead by example, do your best, and treat all people of all types with respect and dignity that they deserve. It has most advanced radar Zhuk-me which has a very good range around of 100+ kms and can detect targets of around 5+ sqm RCS. it has a very rugged alighting gears for bearing the controlled accident or landing on the deck which also is the reason of very high maintenance costs for the beast in navy. The a/c is multirole and is quite capable in terms of A2A and A2G configuration missions. It has MIL-STD-1553B Open Architecture System which allows for the installment of Indian, French and Russian avionics and weapons onboard the a/c as needed ,It features a French-Russian LINS-100RS inertial system for Nav while the pilot is equipped with a Thales TopSight HMDS. The Russian Zhuk-ME radar can detect and can track 10 and attack 3+ at a time. Mig-29k also features advanced Electronic Warfare Equipment like TARANG RWR system and the powerful Elta ELL-8222 as a jamming pod or EW suit which is a beast in terms of wrecking havoc on enemies radars . Tawakkul is a key teaching of Islam. The number of Quranic verses and hadiths that speak about it signifies its importance. Also, there are no books written by Muslim scholars from the past till today on Akhlaq (Etiquettes), an important aspect of Islam, that do not contain a chapter on tawakkul. One of many pieces of evidence on the importance of tawakkul in Islam is the fact that Allah s.w.t. revealed it as a path to His love and those who uphold it consistently are His beloved servants.  إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ المُتَوَكِّلينَ Surely, Allah loves those who place their trust in Him (Surah A’li-’Imran, 3:159) However, an Islamic virtue requires the right understanding to positively affect men and women because past and contemporary realities have also shown some negative effects of tawakkul due to misunderstanding of its concept. Some examples are fatalism (human being is predestined to its fate and is unable to change them except through absolute reliance on Allah), a misunderstanding of tawakkul that incorporates human beings’ effort but without due consideration to cause and effect law that is relevant to the objective, or striving for noble objective with no regard of potential harms from external factors. THEY. In the current climate and being less immersed in our queer communities can be incredibly difficult. Its unsettling and alienating for us not to be seen and recognised for who we are, especially in light of the failures in the political system. Chimene Wickstrom @totabroad has an amazing story, leaving behind everything to travel South East Asia with her now four year old daughter ‘Rylan’ and husband ‘Bryce’ over a year ago. Arriving in Sri Lanka from Thailand in July of last year they have been here for nearly a year now amassing a prolific collection of over 200 photos from Sri Lanka alone which is over half of all the photos Chimene’s posted on Instagram, truly extraordinary and so touching to see them traverse across our little island. During the #easterattacksl they were all to our relief, safe, far away in Hikkaduwa where they are today, a place they have spent a considerable amount of their time enjoying the beach life and friends they’ve made along the way. Considering the sheer amount of time they’ve spent here and all the places they’ve visited I think my short caption simply wouldn’t do justice to their travels so I would strongly encourage you all to follow @totabroad and like, comment and thank them for sticking through this time when most fear to visit our Sri Lanka.
