Nos invitaron a conocer @lamansion_mx y fuimos a la sucursal de Palmas, para mala fortuna nuestra, chocamos llegando al restaurante. Pero nada de eso importó para llegar con excelente ánimo a probar la carta de La Mansión. Las medidas de seguridad todas muy bien aplicadas y los meseros y capitanes muy amables. Durante toda la tarde tuvimos excelente servicio. Luego de revisar la carta y pasearnos por sus tacos, ensaladas, sopas, pescados y cortes, nos decimos por los tacos, filete, arrachera y rib eye, estaban buenísimos. Enseguida pasamos a las carnes y probamos dos buenos cortes -New York y Filete Marinado con Chimichurri-, llegaron en el término que pedimos, lo cual siempre se agradece. Los acompañamos con unas muy buenas papas a la francesa y ensalada cesar. Cerramos con “Explosión de Chocolate” y crepas de cajeta, dos muy buenos postres. ¡Gracias por la invitación! Besides the congee you can choose different appetizers and salads. What we truly felt in love with was their crispy crunch with tofu for 4.0€ and their all season salad with tofu for 5.50€. Both dishes were absolutely incredible. The crispy crunch was one of the best spring rolls weve had in Berlin with four mid sized pieces dipped in a slightly spicy fish sauce. Perfect crunch and nice filling. Great dish! The all season salad comes in a small portion on a small plate with sweet glazed tofu and avocado finished with sesame dressing. Really delicious! The congee was hard to rate as we were not big congee fans. The quality and taste was good. For 10 EUR you get the plain congee and for every additional topping youll be charged 2 EUR which can make the congee quite pricey. Ippei Matsui & Aki Tsuyuko - Natsu No Zenbu All Night Flight, 2020 (orig. 2008) As will have been obvious to anyone paying attention (is that you, mum?), weve been doing a lot of our shopping in 80s Japan of late, so its a nice change of speed to be able to discuss something a little more contemporary from those same shores. The second release on All Night Flight and hot on the heels of the previously championed A Produce reissue, Natsu No Zenbu is a 27-track collection of Matsui and Tsuyukos rural recordings, birthed in 2008 and originally passed on to others via CD-r as a gift to guests at their wedding. Music befittng of such a simple, gentle, elegant gesture. How times change, though i wont object to what is now a beautifully presented double LP, gatefold package through which to enjoy these sounds. And what strange, beguiling sounds they are. To these ears at least, this is music that could have come from nowhere else but Japan and it makes sense they would originate from the loving understanding and shared creative activity of a couple alone in a large house outside of the city. Honestly, I would struggle to fully understand Natsu No Zenbu (trans: All of Summer) without that context. Fans of the pastoral elegance of Pale Cocoon, World Standard and Japanese environmental music as a whole will find many elements to appreciate here (and hearing this also makes me understand why Virginia Astley is so loved in Japan), though theres also a quixotic charm to the electronic flourishes/digressions that accompany these minimal compisitions that isnt far from Yximallo (though far less abrasive) or the introverted (inverted!) aspects of Cornelius. A hearteningly romantic and emotionally pure collection that just wasnt made for these times, and conversely just might be what these times need.
