The COVID-19 pandemic may reinforce segmentation in world markets, exacerbating a trend that has been gathering pace since the financial crisis The COVID-19 pandemic has escalated a long-simmering conflict between the US and China, two of the main drivers of financial globalisation If truth is the first casualty when war is declared, then the same goes for capital mobility when pandemics strike. This became evident on May 11, when US President Donald Trump ordered the federal pension fund – the world’s fifth-largest pension fund – to stop investing in Chinese equities. The move came in response to what the US Government perceived as persistent Chinese aggression – COVID-19 just being the straw that broke the camel’s back. “The role of the Chinese Government in purposely not disclosing what was going on during the COVID-19 outbreak has fuelled a lot of [anti-Chinese-Government] sentiment,” Charles Calomiris, a professor of financial institutions at Columbia Business School, told World Finance. After a long period of integration, segmentation, driven by geopolitical turbulence, is becoming the norm It was not the first time that the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board, which represents the interests of around 5.5 million federal employees through its $600bn Thrift Savings Plan, had been pressed to steer clear of Chinese assets. Last November, the board rebuffed a similar request by US lawmakers on the grounds of missing out on investment opportunities. Trump’s order put paid to the board’s plan to shift its $40bn international fund from the MSCI World Index, which focuses on developed markets, to the MSCI All Country World Index, which includes Chinese shares. #jawab چند لمحوں کی تسکین میں سب سے بڑا مقام انا کی تسکین کو حاصل ہے جس کے خمار میں غرق انسان اپنے اندر ایک غرور اور تمکنت محسوس کر رہا ہوتا ہے اور اس محسور کن کیفیت سے لطف اندوز ہوتے ہوئے مخمور ہوتا چلا جاتا ہے۔ مگر ایک بات سے بے خبر رہتا ہے کہ اس خمار کی شدت زائل ہونے کے بعد تقویت شدہ اضطراب ابھرے گا۔ ٹھیک ویسے ہی جیسے تلخیوں سے مضطرب انسان حصول طمانیت کیلیے نشہ کرتا ہے اور اس نشے کے خمار میں خود کو زمان و مکاں سے بالا تصور کر رہا ہوتا ہے مگر اس نشے کا اثر زائل ہوتے ہی ان تلخیوں میں احساس ندامت کا اضافہ ہو چکا ہوتا ہے جو اس انسان کو مزید مضطرب کر دیتی ہے۔ گناہ و ثواب کا معاملہ تو انسان اور رب کا معاملہ ہے۔ اور رب نے انسان کے لیے توبہ کی راہ بھی بہت آسان رکھی۔ اور اس کے قبول ہو جانے پر دل میں سکون بھی اتار دیا کرتے ہیں۔ وہ تو الْغَفُورُ و الشَّكُورُ ہیں، الرَّحْمَنُ و الرَّحِيمُ ہیں۔ مگر انا پرستی، غرور اور تکبر تو انسانوں سے معاشرت میں جنم لیتے ہیں ۔ اس کا حصار بھی انسانوں سے معاملات میں کھینچا جاتا ہے۔ اور پھر انسانوں میں تو اکثر اتنا ظرف نہیں پایا جاتا کہ انا پرست انسان کے اس انا کے خمار سے نکل آنے کے بعد اس کے مزید مضطرب ٹوٹتے بدن پر ترس کھائیں۔ یہ چند لمحوں کا غرور اور انا کی تسکین ہمارے وجود کو مزید کھو کھلا کر کے ہمیں ہمارے ہی وجود کے کھنڈرات میں اس بے بےرحمی سے پٹختی ہے کہ ہمارے لیے اپنے ہی وجود کو سمیٹنا دشوار ہو جاتا ہے۔ اور انسانوں سے رحم کی اپیل تو بے سود معلوم پڑتی ہی ہے، مگر وہ بھی ناپسندیدگی اور لا تعلقی کا اظہار کرتے نظر آتے ہیں جن کے رحم کے سمندر لا انتہا ہیں۔ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَنْ كَانَ مُخْــتَالًا فَخُــوْرَۨا بیشک اللہ تکبر کرنے والے اترانے والے کو پسند نہیں کرتا۔ النساء 36 تحریر: عاطر علی سید - @atiralisyed on Instagram

I hate writers block:- Banging my head over table with rattling vibration in my earlobes thinking hard and hit by the instant whiplashing that my pen was injured it was not able to bleed blue. Trying to put jumbled words together making senseless couplets , screaming for the aid My sonnets were loosing its rhythm. I thought Maybe dehydration is the reason for the choking that I cant find voice in my words ,but while gulping water I feel like the half dead fish flapping and agonizing at the shore , unable to reach the ocean , struggling to survive. What could be biggest irony than this , you think you are alive ,but your organs fails to breathe. You see everyone feeling the breeze , but for you every inhaling is the countdown to survive. Without a label, these are my best chance at being heard by more people like you. I tried their some special food, And tbh everything were so yummy, perfect and served in a best way! There are many food items that are introduced first time in gujranwala. It is very good for the market of gujranwala Its a small cafe with perfect ambience and perfect food! I tried TEXAS steak, FIERY wings, MAC n CHEESE burger. 잠시 딴 세상에 온 것 같은 느낌의 Team-Lab의 전시 (sound on!) 들어선 순간 이 세상에 없는 그 어떤 곳으로 이동한 듯한 느낌을 주는 전시가 있죠. 그곳에서 우리는 디지털이 만들어낸 새로운 공감각을 받아들이며 지금을 잠시 잊곤 합니다. 디지털 아트는 차갑고 이성적이라는 건 편견일 뿐이다. 우리가 팀랩이라는 공간에서 창의적으로 뭉치는 것처럼, 관람객들도 하나의 공간 안에서 함께 반응하고 어울리는 새로운 체험을 하면서 마음이 바뀌는 것을 느꼈으면 좋겠다. 팀랩(Team-Lab)은 대학생이던 이노코 토시유키가 20년 전에 학교 벤처로 창업한 그룹으로, 엔지니어, 프로그래머, 과학자, 건축가, 화가, 디자이너 등 400여명의 전문가가 모여 과학과 예술, 디지털의 경계를 넘나들며 누구도 본 적이 없는 새로운 작품을 만들어내고 있습니다. 실내의 전시공간에서 나아가 일본의 한 지역 전체를 전시공간으로 만들기도 했던 팀랩(Team-Lab FOREST). 곧 DDP에서 LIFE라는 주제로 전시가 열리니 놓치지 마시길 바랍니다.
