SOMEWHERE YOU RODE THIS YEAR WILL BE CLOSED NEXT SEASON. In the Stanislaus, it will be the north side of Sonora Pass or Tryon Peak. In the Plumas or Eldorado National Forests it will involve absurd closures around a summer hiking trail. In the Tahoe National Forest it will be the entire ridge from Tinkers Knob to Anderson Peak. We know the world is a little crazy right now but these closures will be a reality next riding season. The Sierra Snowmobile Foundation will be fighting these closures where it counts: In court. But unfortunately we cant do it without money. Our Skidoo Raffle is to fund court costs, nothing else. We NEED to sell tickets to accomplish this, and weve extended the raffle to April 17 to reach our goal. With sales limited to 300 tickets, you have probably the best odds of any raffle youve entered. While filming for @hharlaut part in @grandvalira I was trying to get a few shots of myself so I could make 2 dreams of mine come true : share a part with the man and have every aspects of my skiing reflecting in the #KEEPITREALtheproject 👏🏼 - Therefore I had to get some rail tricks in although with all this film directing I didn’t have much time to actually work on my rail skills for the past 2 years 🤷🏼♂️ - It was a tough call trying something that’s not been done yet in a Snowpark where almost every tricks have been stomped already. Weirdly I was too scared to simply 450 in the rail because when doing so I can’t center my position on the rail : flipping over was the only solution to aim a landing cleanly. On March 12, GADSAR was tasked to a knee injury below the Battle Abbey Lodge in the Selkirk Mountains. The patient had sustained a knee injury while skiing and was not able to bear weight enough to skin back up to the lodge. Two SAR techs flew in with @alpinehelicopters and assessed the scene. As many of you know, UDOT is in the public comment period for revisions to their environmental impact statement to to provide an integrated transportation system for Little Cottonwood Canyon. As of now they have 3 proposed plans: gondolas 🚠, more buses 🚌 , or more buses with improved roadways. What are your opinions on this topic?? Please share 😁 I have friends on both sides, but I think I am on team gondola because it seems to be the only option that will truly take pressure off of the canyon road itself. I also think that tourists will be more likely to utilize gondolas because it is more of a ski attraction (which means less rental cars sliding off the road). Additionally, I think it would be nice to provide an alternative option that could run during storm cycles where UDOT is working overtime to keep the roads clear. Not to mention, buses pollute more and add to traffic. Feel free to change my mind 😜 No solution is perfect, but I am glad to see they are taking steps to fix an undeniable problem! Recently, I had the amazing opportunity to ride along on the Dalton Highway from Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. The drive was absolutely stunning, we definitely were spoiled with a beautiful day. But more importantly, I got to see first hand, the demands on our truck drivers along with their knowledge and expertise of the roads. As a person in HR, anytime I can understand better what our employees face and how we can support them in their day to day is what I strive for. The trip, in addition to being an amazing experience, left me with a new appreciation and respect for our truck drivers and the jobs they do. So next time you see a truck driver on the road, give em a wave 👋🏻 and if you’re driving, give them some space. It’s the least we can do to help make their workday a good one. Currently, UDOT is refining the draft alternatives and evaluating any new ones proposed during the comment period. The same criteria that was used in the June 8, 2020 screening report will be applied. UDOT expects the revised screening report will be released in Fall 2020. This weekend we ventured on the road and had our family’s first trip to @visitbigbear. It was my first time in 20 years and I don’t know why I haven’t come here earlier! Our family went to @alpineslidebigbear yesterday and we had so much fun with all the rides and attractions. We started with alpine slides which is a bobsled that you can control the speed individually. The chairlift ride that takes you to the top of mountain gives you a beautiful panaromic view of Big Bear Lake. There is a height restriction but my toddler was able to ride with us and she loved it! Mineshaft coaster is a fast thrill ride and the only mountain coaster in CA. My boys loved this fast ride with high speed turns and twists that could also be individually controlled. We then went on the Soaring Eagle zipline that catapulted us through the air. We ended the day with Go-karting and miniature golf which the whole family could enjoy. There was something for everyone and we loved our first time visit at @alpineslidebigbear. It is open year round and I would definitely recommend it if you plan to visit Big Bear. It was so much fun and we had the best time! In 2007 Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG took over the manufacturer Paana in Keitele, Finland. Paana had made a name for itself in Scandinavia as a manufacturer of track grooming machines and with the Paana 100, a relatively small, agile snow groomer was on offer. To round off the PistenBully program, Kässbohrer then added this type to its delivery program after appropriate modifications. 😎 The new addition had a Cummins four-cylinder diesel of type QSB 4.5 with an output of 86 kW (115 PS), which met all current exhaust emission standards such as Euromot 3A EPA TIER 3!
