Summer.DIPLOMA Sarah Scholtes @bacalhausinho . «Cooking with clay» is a collection of cookware and tableware made solely of ceramics, for anybody who enjoys cooking together and dedicating their time to preparing a feast. It’s about the joy found in gathering for a meal. There are many reasons why to choose clay as cookware. On the one hand it is the artistic value of a cooking vessel that doubles as a serving dish, as well as the cultural connection to truly ancient cooking traditions. For the past 20,000 years, people have depended on it as a fundamental building material for shelter and tools. But perhaps most crucially for humankind, clay became cookware. Around the world, clay is still used for specific dishes whose qualities cannot be replicated with metal cookware. Clay pots fell out of favor as metal became cheap and plentiful, but the two materials are not equivalent. Clay cookware heats up more slowly and evenly than metal and holds and distributes heat more diffusely. Those qualities make it ideal for several cooking techniques and dishes: simmered soups and curries, braises or tender baked meats, as well as evenly and perfectly cooked rice or beans. Food cooked in a clay pot stays moist and hot, so generally less liquid and fat is necessary. . Under the limited possibilities of the quarantine, some students were still able to work on and finish their diploma projects. That is truly what a photographers life is like. Пожалуй, это будет самая тёплая и летняя съемка в моем портфолио💛 ⠀ Интересные (и не очень) факты о ней: ⠀ ➖До дня съемки я обошла весь парк, чтобы найти идеальные деревья для нашей идеи😅 Основные критерии были: расположение деревьев относительно друг друга, чтобы можно было натянуть две верёвки, и свет, который будет вечером падать на них ⠀ ➖Как оказалось, не в каждом магазине есть молоко в стеклянной бутылке ⠀ ➖Один мужчина даже подошёл к нам и хотел сфоткать наше молоко...его удивило, что такое вообще продают🤷🏼♀️ ⠀ ➖В конце съемки к нам подошёл другой мужчина и попросил на видео по-английски рассказать о Питере и пригласить сюда туристов. Он оказался гидом и хотел его выложить к себе на фейсбук. Less than a second later I launch off the line, and he follows. For about a quarter mile I pulled away from him, til I hit 50 mph and he flew by. Clearly he gave me a head start, but having always had slow cars the entire interaction brought me such joy! I was giggling and grinning for the next few miles. This is how I started drawing different things on my loaves of bread. I must say that making bread has a therapeutic dimension.
