WHY APNEA LIFE 🌊From infancy most of us feel a magical attraction to water. For 9 months before we are born, we live in water, like the sea many believe is the origin of all life. The sea many of us spend their lives trying to get back to.🌊 (“Ocean Men: extreme dive”, directed by Bob Talbot, 2001) -- We’ve been in apnea since the beginning of our life. For the first 9 months, in the amniotic fluid of the womb. That’s how we live - carefree, with no stress, no worries - before coming in contact with our human experience. An experience which is lived and perceived differently, depending on the eyes with which we look at a constantly changing and evolving world, where we are subject to rapid variations of stimuli, social and technological changes. In this society, launched towards an unstoppable trajectory with a dizzying rhythm, we can’t find the time to listen to ourselves, to deeply understand our body, our mind and our emotions. We lose contact with nature, but also with ourselves. In a world that moves very quickly, one of the best ways to recover this lost contact is to go back to our roots: freediving is pure well-being. You won’t find it at extreme depths, you’ll live it simply by staying in the water. Of course, holding your breath is a completely unnatural action, but getting to live this dimension enables you to achieve a good relationship with yourself and to get to know a part of yourself better. But how? At the core of all this is breathing. If you breathe well, you can control your heartbeat and your mind. Breathing is at the heart of emotional balance, allowing you to meet positive energy to challenge yourself and your fears. Breathing consciously is the first step to make to listen to our own body again, staying focused on ourselves and our emotions, helping us understand and face what stresses us and allowing us to figure out what makes us happy. The latest deployed cluster in our House Reef! After all of the structures have been dropped on the sea bed from the raft, the divers will arrange them based on the design plan. This time we only made Roti Buaya structures, so we set them in a stacked cluster. This will provide more space for fish to hide in. This kind of cluster design can also fit into a narrow area. Last but not least is the planting of propagated corals on the top of the Roti Buaya. These corals will encourage the floating natural baby corals (planulae) to settle and grow on the structure. En sus palabras: 🐙Después de ver con impotencia lo que ha sucedido con el pez luna la pasada semana en Almería quisiera aportar mi granito de arena con las medusas. Es cierto que las medusas rosadas o medusas clavel (Pelagia noctiluca), las que vemos normalmente en nuestras costas son muy urticantes, sin embargo otras especies son prácticamente inofensivas, de belleza sin igual, y sirven de cobijo a pequeños alevines de peces. Quiero crear concienciación para la gente que las vea, que por favor NO LAS SAQUEN DEL AGUA, que si pueden naden con ellas y disfruten de la majestuosidad del mar. Son ejemplares totalmente inofensivos, por favor déjenlos en su hogar. 🐟Primero, os presento a la medusa Rhizosthoma luteum; la reina del mediterráneo y la mas grande de todas. Puede llegar a pesar 40 kilos y medir 2 metros de largo. 🐟🐟Segundo, os muestro a la medusa comúnmente conocida como huevo frito (Cotylorhiza tuberculata). Remember the voice in your head I spoke about? The naysayer? . . It’s your fear. Deeply rooted based on conditioning and trauma you’ve experienced in your life. Because of the things you took on as ‘truth’ about yourself without even questioning it. Maybe your family said it. Maybe your partner said it. Maybe your teacher said it. And you believed. Blindly. . . Our subconscious takes everything youre saying, everything youre thinking for truth. Your Self Talk reveals how you deep down see yourself. . . Have you ever noticed that your fear comes up JUST before you’re about to do ‘the thing’? Take public speaking for example: You’re asked by your boss to hold a presentation about your project progress in front of the management team. Just before the attention moves to you in the meeting room, your mouth gets dry, your heart rate rises, your puls shoots through the roof, your hands get sweaty, your stomach knots up and you blank out. Great. Thanks for sabotaging my glorious moment once again, fear! . . Here’s the thing. Your subconscious mind has no intention harming you, it’s quite the opposite. It represses memories with unresolved negative emotions until it thinks you’re ready to face them and have the right tools to process them. Because it KNOWS how important it is for you to release trauma (remember, stored trauma causes illness), it takes every chance it gets to bring it to your attention. And it can only bring it to your attention when you’re being faced with something that recalls a traumatic situation. In this instance it could be an experience of not being heard, respected and ridiculed for your opinion when you were younger. It triggers fear of rejection, unworthiness, failure. . . When your fear shows up it doesnt mean you’re not good at ‘the thing’ - it usually means you have emotional trauma from your past coming up to be resolved. How good is this? It gives you something to look at, process and release. . . If you can relate and are done with being limited by your fears, send me a message. “As free as the ocean” A little story about me: A couple of years ago I lost my freedom, I was trapped by anxiety and panic attacks and let me tell you, it was a devastating thing in my life because I didnt used to worry about anything and just enjoyed life. I was so mad at myself because I was no longer free. I lost my motivation for surfing, soccer and other activities, but especially my life. However, a few years later I can say that I am free again thanks to Him, because I find my rest in Him and trust Him no matter the circumstances. I will live my life for Him, so why should I worry? I will enjoy life to the fullest, be it small or big moments. I’m so blessed that every day I can open my eyes and breathe again and most of all see the people I love the most. A quote has been stuck in my head for a few months now. It goes something like, “You can not connect the dots looking forward, they will only ever make sense in hindsight”. For me Life has been moving very fast recently. A part of me is very excited for what is to come while the other is trying his best to hold onto each moment before it passes. I feel like it is so easy to just let life fly by and not appreciate the little moments that surround the “highlights”. As humans we are wired to focus on the highlights and let everything else fade away as if those moments are not good enough to remember. Personally I think the real parts of life happen in those little moments more so then they do in the typically great moments. In the little moments before the highlights is when the best conversations are about to happen, the views are beginning to take their truest form, and we begin to realize that something real is about to take place. I’m trying my best to take hold of my life while excepting none of it will make sense until it’s already happened and I can look back and connect my dots. Until then, here’s to good friends, warm oceans at sunset, cold (and strong) piña coladas, and the wonderful humans helping me figure out how this crazy world works. Much love my friends....... oh!
