What’s true and what’s always been true is that we all are different, have different goals, and different circumstances. There are people who are sick, people who are on the front lines, people who are working from home, people whose jobs shut down, but they’re still getting paid people who are laid off , people who are suddenly figuring out homeschooling their kids, entrepreneurs figuring out their next steps We all should use this opportunity. But that looks like different things for different people. For some, it DOES require new discipline, new creations, and buckling down on things we tucked away for “one day” For others it’s a time of rest. Others a time of play. Others it’s learning how to reconnect with family. For others, it’s a combination of all of the above It’s about what YOUR soul is calling you to do. The ones who survive and thrive during this are the ones who choose to expand during this time. Expanding in whatever their soul is designed for. And expanding can look like so many things... it could be learning a new skill but it could also be working on emotional regulation, continuing to spend money, allowing yourself to grieve, or take up a new meditation practice Expansion is NOT prolonged escapism. Hoping things go back to “normal” Not connecting with yourself So do what you’re actually called to do during this time. Just like when others experience hard times, they often turn to smoking to de-stress, drinking to drown sorrows, drugs to mask problems, and eating for comfort 😬 Just something to regain self control but usually the action is negative and never highlighted as unhealthy because typically common behaviour and therefore deemed socially acceptable. This is what we do to escape, regroup, and pull ourselves together during tough times 💯 But, we should all try and do more positive things to manage stress and combat negativity 😬 Meditation and yoga are great and popular ways of doing this ✅ Training, physical activity, and pushing our bodies to their limits are also ways of gaining physical and mental stress relief, it’s helped me more than I could explain over the years. For some, at worst this can be seen as an unhealthy obsession and addiction to exercise, yet at best it can be seen as a long road to vanity island 🤦🏻♂️ Its about maintaining a steady way of life and doing what we can to help cope with problems that life presents us.
