💖Maybe you’re like me and you’ve regained a little weight recently? 💖Maybe you’ve slowed down and put the breaks on your unrelenting fitness regime? 💖Maybe you’ve quit counting every bite of food as a way to help heal your relationship with food or more importantly to heal your mind and body? It’s OK to IGNORE that fatiguing, nagging, all consuming voice, routed somewhere deep inside your mind 🧠 the one that keeps telling you your ‘letting yourself go’. It’s NOT the truth! Who here has held onto the fear that if they stop what they are doing ❌, they will be suddenly be judged or stigmatized as having ‘let themselves go?’ 💖 Here are some things you can do TODAY to take you one step closer to FREEDOM and one step further away from self objectification. Stop letting this rule YOUR life. 👗Go to the damn party - NO ONE else cares if your outfit isn’t perfect! ⚖️ Go to the damn group fitness class - NO ONE else cares if you gained a few pounds over the weekend! 🙈 Post the damn video - NO ONE else cares if you have a little breakout. 🍪 Eat the damn cookie - It’s just a cookie ! You will learn who you TRULY are when you show up anyway, Iove anyway, play anyway, LIVE anyway! You deserve to reclaim YOUR life from the soul-sucking prison of self-conscious body monitoring, constantly trying to ‘fix’ your body in hopes that this change will suddenly cause ‘life’ to begin once you qualify to be seen. I speak about this with many clients. You are not hear your be seen, you are here to BE! You are missing out on so much life when you prioritize your appearance above it all. Sadly, the fear of weight gain is very real and highly prevalent amongst us. But guess what, it doesn’t have to be this way! 😃 Each and everyone one of us have the means and the power to change this narrative. So many of us have the pressure to be great, to be special, maybe even to be extraordinary. But, what if you felt that it was okay to just be you as you are right now with all of your imperfection? What if you believe that your best is actually good enough? ⠀ ⠀ That if you fail, all that matters was that you tried? This is a form of radical self-acceptance. It doesnt mean that we give up our efforts to better ourselves, strive, or succeed. ⠀ ⠀ All it means is we learn to treat ourselves with compassion and acceptance which actually lead to the success so many of us desire. Always come back to acceptance. Practice gentleness and acceptance as your religion. ⠀ ⠀ -Tamara Levitt from Calm meditation app⠀ ⠀ #ProjectInnerVoice #selflove #selfacceptance #SelfCare #mentalhealth #emotionalhealth #selflovequotes #inspirationalquotes #motivationalquotes - @raranoormega on Instagram

✨ I N F L O W ✨ This is something a little different I wanted to post about staying in flow ✨ You guys would hear me talk about living in alignment and staying in flow with the universe ... A LOT 💁🏽♀️😂 - this is something I have learnt about lately in a different form to what I’m used to ✨ My energy, emotions, mood and overall self has changed a lot lately. I’m normally a high vibe gal whom LOVES a good chat and is a huge morning person 🌤 But lately I’m a low energy & low vibe gal, who avoids all interactions with others and loves laying in bed all morning 😴 I assumed I was low vibe and low energy because I was doing things that didn’t make me truly happy - as in my head, they didn’t align with me/ I have this idea in my head that I’m a morning person who loves to talk to people and interact. BUT I have shifted and those values no longer align with my current self. My current self LOVES resting and laying in of a morning where I can. My current self LOVES watching my favourite tv show of a night. My current self LOVES time away from my phone. And, my currently self LOVES alone time and not feeling pressured to interact/reply to others until I’m ready 💫 I’ve spent a lot of time today releasing these old beliefs of what I ‘should’ be like and truly welcoming these new habits and ways of life which are aligning with my current self 💫 I am SO HAPPY doing these things which is ‘normally’ not me and I am LOVING it 🥰 Do what makes you happy no matter what it is & remember we are always changing so sometimes our old habits no longer align - make room for the new and embrace the new ✨ &&&& NEVER FEEL GUILTY FOR WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY 💛💛💛 - @lunaatarot on Instagram

We know in our hearts of the heart when something is over . Acceptance takes time , effort and courage to stop believing in it . It is a damn hard place to be .To not fall into something at the first place you need to be super conscious of how you feel, why you feel and when you feel always . And then acting upon it is super important even when you don’t like it in that moment . Be protective of your own self . To be precise, love yourself ❤️ . . . . . You may have no idea what lies ahead, but you also have no idea just how strong you are. I hope you never let your past failures overshadow your past successes. The failures will always scream at you the loudest, but when you actually listen to what they’re saying, they don’t tell the story. You do. You are the one who gets to choose to shine light on the lessons you learned. You are the one who has the freedom to see what turned out be a success, or even just progress, far more than you see the failures. Yes, there are so many things that have fallen in apart, and there are people and there are disappointments that have broken your heart, but they did not tell the whole story. They simply do not have that power. This week, I hope you can embrace the grace that says, “you are so much more than failures.” I hope in any moment you spend thinking about the past (whether it be yesterday or ten years ago), you think about the good that came out of it. And most of all, I hope you can make peace for what was, as you wait for what’s to come. You are so much stronger and equipped for the future than you think. More tomorrow… Sincerely, Morgan Harper Nichols Every post here is an excerpt from the Storyteller App.✨ - @thestorytellerco on Instagram

I hope you let this sink in. • It’s not your fault. I know your doctor, mom, or cousin may have tried to convince you that it is your fault, but our bodies have protective physiological responses to restriction that lower our metabolism and change our hormonal balance which affects our drive to eat/binge. • It’s not your fault. • It’s diet culture that told you you needed to change your body. It’s societal pressure to attain a thin ideal. It’s the false advertising of dieting and the hope of it solving your life’s problems. • And for that I am sorry. • But you do not need to live this way any longer. You can take back your time, money, and well-being, stop binge eating, and find true health and happiness in life without l restriction or bingeing. • Life is short. Let’s make the best of it by healing our relationship with food and do what makes us feel our best! • I’ve been there too. I’ve been in the restrict binge cycle for so long that it felt hopeless. I thought I couldn’t stop. I thought it was my fault. But then I discovered that it wasn’t my fault, my body was doing exactly what it was supposed to do. It was really protecting me from famine. • I turned this journey into my life purpose. Now it is my job to inspire and guide you through the journey to binge freedom so you can take back your life and find what it truly means to live healthfully (and happily). • If you’re on the brink of giving up, don’t. I am here for you and believe in you. You don’t have to live like this 🙏🏻 • In the words of Hunter Hayes, “ there’s so much more to life than what you’re feeling now”. - @binge.nutritionist on Instagram

. 👩🏻: @maariquadros. 📸: @felipesiba. . #skincare #argilaverde #argiloterapia #argila #skincareroutine #agileskincareroutine #agileskincare #skincarecommunity #skincaretips - @agilelojaoficial on Instagram

Body love is a term thrown around a lot in the world of wellness, and it’s a great goal to work towards; however, my problem with body love (besides the fact that it’s an impossibly-high standard) is that it keeps the focus on the BODY. The way we feel about our bodies is not an upward graph that only progresses forward once we decide to finally “love our body”. It fluctuates up and down. And that’s NORMAL and HEALTHY. If loving your body feels too hard right now, strive for neutrality instead. The idea is to think less about what your physical body looks like, and more about what it’s capable of. It provides an opportunity for ACCEPTANCE. 👏🏻 Body neutrality doesn’t mean you can’t love your body (and I hope that you do), but it’s freeing yourself from the pressure to do so 24/7. We only have so much energy, and when you stop obsessing over your body you get to reallocate your time and focus to things that truly matter. - @sarahbaginski.health on Instagram

The food we eat can be the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison. The feeling of fueling your body with what it needs & deserves is just one of the many powerful benefits to adopting a healthier diet + lifestyle. Do you check any of these boxes after a meal? [ ] exhausted, moody grumpy [ ] Suffer from aches and pains [ ] Gassy, bloated, or swollen [ ] low on energy Youve heard the expression you are what you eat? But let me ask you this, are you feeling alive after you eat, as in full of energy? OR could the chemicals hidden in your current diet be causing a variety of systemic issues throughout your body? When you’re reading the label & you don’t recognize an ingredient, understand that your body won’t either. Real food doesnt have labels and if it does, you will know what it is. Heres an easy guideline yes/no : 1. Can you picture it on a farm? On a tree? Being pulled from the ground? Does it have roots or seeds? Is it produced in a lab or from our earth? 2. Ask yourself, do you know what “canola oil” looks like? natural flavors”? sodium benzoate? aspartame? butylated hydroxyanisole? All common in food marketed towards children. How does your body react to these? What are the immediate and long term consequences of eating these for you and your children? 3. Be aware of that label, those feel good [marketing] words dont mean anything. Its time to get back to the basics. The easiest choice you can make is to say “NO” to any ingredient you dont know & simplify by saying “YES” to whole foods. In the words of Jamie Oliver real food doesnt have ingredients, real food is ingredients. #food #healthyfood #realfood #eatrealfood #nourish #eat #eatclean #cleanliving #intentional #motherhood #mother #children #kids #baby #postpartum - @holisticmotherhoodco on Instagram

There’s a part of me that tries to forget my suicide attempts (Trigger Warning). I viewed this chapter of my life as history until I realized I avoid talking about it because I feel shame around the pain I caused the people that loved me. I can hold space for other survivors but cringe when the words are reflected back at me. I know there are many that can relate. There’s a feeling of unworthiness around sharing- especially when some of my loved ones weren’t able to say the same. There’s a feeling of shame in my lack of will to live- as if it really felt like a choice in the moment. There’s a feeling of choking on my words the moment I had to share what happened... again, and again. There’s a feeling of pressure in finding moments to prove to the world “I’m okay now, I swear”. And then there’s guilt and complex emotions that follow me years after my attempts. But thankfully, I’ve learned that you get help. Even if the “worst” has passed, even if I’m “fine” now. There is no shame in getting help- at any part of your journey. So I looked around me and wept for the younger version of myself who never thought she would escape her deep sense of numb and agony. I held the version of me that believed my past made me undeserving of the beauty in my life that exists now. And more than anything, I’m learning to accept that version of myself who will always be a part of me. I’m finally ready to look at her and love her completely. She deserved to be loved then and she still does now. Without her I wouldn’t have the resiliency and compassion I have today. I wouldn’t be able to see others in their fear and shame and hold the vision for their highest potentials I would have no desire to find the freedom and fulfillment in existing and help others do the same that is within me now. And most importantly, I wouldn’t be able to share that still being here is the greatest gift that was almost taken away from me. The world has big plans for you, even when you can’t see it. Even if you don’t feel it. Your existence matters- give yourself the opportunity to see what’s meant for you. #WorldSuicidePreventionDay - @celinarosso on Instagram

🤪Have you ever apologized to a cardboard box? 🙋🏻♀️ I have. For tripping over it. . 🌟Apologizing just comes so naturally that it becomes instinct for us. So much so that I quickly said “Oh! Sorry!” In the same second I was catching my balance back. . ❌I need (and I know I’m not alone here) to check myself for how quickly I’ll apologize for existing in the world. Sometimes an apology is absolutely warranted. But those times are not nearly as often as our behavior suggests. . 🎨This week’s #womenofillustration prompt is about this very topic. At the end of the day, no matter how difficult our lives are, we have a choice. We can either view the world through a filter of negativity or one of appreciation. We can dwell on whats missing or we can focus on the profound gifts that surround us each day. ⠀ ⠀ Without changing anything in our circumstances, gratitude can cause a change within. No qual estamos no meio do ano… 📖 A pergunta é: qual livro não me faz chorar? ✨ - @lagrimasliterarias on Instagram

It’s day one of weight stigma awareness week. This is a topic of great meaning to me as an eating disorder dietitian. I’m so grateful to know what I know. I’m grateful for the anti-diet community. I’m grateful that HAES is an active social justice movement that I’m proud to be a part of. I’m grateful for teachers and supervisors and colleagues who have asked me to learn and grow and do better. I’m grateful for my clients who have shared their stories and experiences and have opened my eyes to lived experiences that I’ve never had. And I’ve worked in programs where I’ve needed to establish goal weights. Where I’ve used un-nuanced IBW and calculated BMI as though it means anything. Read ego (hey, apparently I was intended to know where a body wanted to land), systemic weight bias (but we want to keep them in a ‘healthy’ body...wtf does that even mean? And also ISN’T THAT WHY THEY’RE IN TREATMENT?) and unexplored professional bias. If you’re an eating disorder professional and are uncomfortable with bodies of all sizes, know that you’re not doing all you can be. And are likely perpetuating stories that result in real harm. If you’re an eating disorder professional and feel uncomfortable about your clients bodies changing, get curious about YOU. This is a you problem, not a client problem. Don’t make them hold that, too. Our clients and all humans deserve decent, equitable and unbiased care. Weight stigma has no place in the arena. Let’s do better so that we can provide better care and be better humans. If you’ve been subjected to weight stigma, particularly in the context of eating disorder treatment, I’m deeply sorry. If you’ve been subjected to weight stigma, I see you and I care about you. That isn’t about you. We owe you more. - @dietitiananna on Instagram

Our universal goal of the platform. And yes, my announcement:) Firstly, I would like to thank the 100s of messages that came in on last Friday. I know that came in as a shock but neither was I planning for such an announcement of ceasing sales. I would try not to confuse yall in the subsequent paragraphs. Any questions can be directed at me. After all, I am the boss of the platform and liable for anything related to this platform. The platform reopens but sales would not be conducted by me. All sales would be directed at Person A. I would still be the advisor of the platform to make sure it runs the way it should/has been running. We would like to keep Person As identity secretive so all monetary transfers would be to Person As bank account instead of the usual paynow. Person A has been given a contract to address the legal side of employment. We would love to keep all orders on this platform within the DMs so it is easy for Person A. All orders would be strictly by delivery to avoid any adverse effects caused by mailing delays. Frankly, as Darshanaa I do feel bad at that one or two instance where mail was lost and I have resupplied. However this does incur a cost on the platform. To avoid any of such, everything will proceed by delivery. All orders above $120 will be of free delivery to doorstep. This applies to orders throughout all months ahead. $120 is a very easily hittable figure by most hence I came up with that. Delivery will be done in 4-6 working days. Please allow the person to process the deliveries as our orders do come in huge figures. Delivery would be $5.50 nett. This is a lowered pricing from the previously set price. For urgent deliveries meaning within 24 hours, the pricing would be $15 nett. Same day orders can be performed by the person but at a higher cost of $15. Lastly, there will be flash sales for certain products during certain periods of time. So do look out for all of them. Those will be posted on stories. And these flash sales will be a period of 4 hours till sold out✨ I will usually do such things in the evening to allow more people to participate. Thank you❤️ - @glitznglamsg on Instagram

the pursuit of pleasure can be scary, bumpy, & even shameful at times. we have been raised in a system that has told us to hide the intense pleasures of life so as to make others feel comfy. lets throw out the normalized sexual scripts and create our own. lets focus on our own pleasure first, instead of others. pleasure comes in many forms and can (& should) be exclaimed in high decibels. the glow is a space where we are opening up the discussion on how we can normalize such a beautiful experience! we aim to change the way society views female sexuality, and to give it the full undivided attention it deserves. shoutout to @pusssywitch for opening up the conversation about how we all deserve, as they say, BIG DEEP INFINITE EARTH SHATTERING PLEASURE⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️ #createspaceforyes #pursuepleasure #stigmafree #pleasureactivism #pleasurepositive #womeninspiringwomen #youfirst #liveyourbliss - @xotheglow on Instagram

Having a goal of how you want to look is great. Knowing how to get there is not to skip meals thinking it’s just dropping body fat!! It takes time to develop lean muscle and shape. You need the calories to do this. Your body thrives on good nutrition. Skipping meals you will slow your metabolism, lack nutrients and therefore maybe end up binging. That definition, tight glutes, healthy skin that goal can get pushed further away. Ive seen a lot over the last 30yrs. It’s almost impossible to open up social media and not see weight loss as the most important and valuable result of healthy habits/behaviors. Fitness trainers love using before/after photos to prove that their methods “work”. But health is so much more complex than smaller measurements. I once rode the “weight loss journey” train because it’s the only train I ever saw moving towards ✨results✨ for a better and healthier life. Until my body stopped shrinking. The transformation photos weren’t looking so transformative anymore. And I was still staring at a plus size body in the mirror. I didn’t feel any better. I felt sad. Disappointed. And ultimately disgusted by my lack of “discipline” to push harder with almost no energy. Breaking up with this diet culture mentality was a slow and painful process for me. Everyone I have ever trained with, who I still love as friends and family, don’t always see it as me actually choosing myself by separating myself from all of my previous self-harm habits in the name of health. I feel alone a lot of the time. I don’t receive praise or acknowledgment for how much effort I put into fueling my body, moving it for fun, journaling my thoughts, and feeling better than I ever have in my body without weight-centric goals. Because where is the proof? That’s just the thing. You don’t need it. You know yourself better than anyone else. You know your body. You know what feels good and what doesn’t. You know what’s best for your own health. Maybe it’s going on daily walks. Maybe it’s drinking more water. Maybe it’s dancing with your kids. Maybe it’s stretching every morning. Maybe it’s lifting weights. Maybe it’s daily affirmations. Whatever it might be, I’m so proud of you. For however you’ve chosen to nourish and love your body. You deserve a major round of applause, too. - @meg.boggs on Instagram

One thing that Tiller has not been talking about or showcasing as well as we can be is size inclusivity and a wider range of bodies. I, like many women, have fluctuated between a variety of different sizes and body shapes, but have always believed this message to be true - all you need for a bikini body is a bikini and a body! We’re working to get Tiller in a place to regularly promote this message with our social media, website content and designs - and as always feedback is warmly welcomed 🥰 I also want to note that we currently stock size XS-XL but if you are shopping and do not feel properly represented, we would LOVE to know - we are taking steps to change that in the upcoming content we share and styles we’re launching. With that said, if you own a Tiller suit and don’t feel like you are being represented on this account but maybe want to flaunt what you’ve got, please please send us photos rocking your kinis, I would love to share! If you made it through that long note, I hope you’re enjoying these last few weeks of Summer and cannot wait for what’s to come 🌞🌞 Photo from @vivianhoorn - @tillerswim on Instagram

YES!!! Artwork courtesy of @ladybluebottle This is one of my missions at Gold Star Revolution -- to remind people that its okay to appreciate themselves! We simply don’t go around talking about how wonderful we are on a regular basis (or even on an occasional basis!). Society often considers this to be arrogant, selfish, rude, etc. We even have derogatory phrases that we apply to people who speak well of themselves – we might condescendingly say that someone is “patting himself on the back,” “fawning over herself,” or “tooting her own horn.” I disagree with these societal characterizations. There is certainly a difference between arrogance and self-love. I don’t think that we can be of any long-lasting help to our family, friends, or the community if we don’t love ourselves first. It’s hard to love other people unconditionally if we can’t love and appreciate ourselves. You can’t give away what you don’t have. I LOVE the idea of paying attention to and feeding our strengths instead of concentrating on fixing our weaknesses all the time. The problem, though, with appreciating our strengths is that we are NOT taught to do this at any point in our lives. So Im here to help you work on appreciating yourself a little more often! I would be thrilled if you would tell me something that you are proud of about yourself in the comments! - @goldstarrevolution on Instagram

I’m so excited to announce our second installment of SAY LESS: Men Ain’t Sh*t. With Valentine’s Day being around the corner, we thought we’d put together a theme to celebrate our ladies. Say Less is curated by a group of 6 women that all share the same passion. We realized that in order to get things done, we had to do it all ourselves. We take pride in that and it’s safe to say we don’t need no mans help! We love our men, but it’s just us saying - Don’t worry, WE GOT THIS. A percentage of our proceeds will go to @plannedparenthood! SO THIS SATURDAY! You could have a bae or be as single as a pringle, we’d love to see you at @commissarylounge ❤️🤫 - @allisonlaay on Instagram

Long caption, but read to the end: About two weeks ago I had an experience with a female founder that I had a call to potentially collaborate with. The conversation was feeling a bit off, but was very polite and just in the introduction stage, when all of the sudden the call dropped. To my surprise and frustration, despite calling her back, a quick text and an email -she never returned my call our answered my follow up. I’m not gonna lie, it really triggered me *clearly needed to meditate* but instead I spun off into victimhood, self-judgement and a lot of blame and questions around race, ageism, women supporting women... the whole narrative. Then finally I realized... if I’m this annoyed and angry with someone I don’t even know... is this really about her?? One of my teachers @courtneyleaklcsw says “If it’s hysterical, it’s historical” and I was reminded of this when I finally saw myself and I realized that the “trigger” was connected to my old wounds around feeling disrespected, ignored and “wronged ” by women in my childhood and in my personal life. -something I know everyone has had to grapple with. Ironically- this is a theme that my friends have been helping me to heal and see a pattern on- so when I finally stopped I saw that this experience was here to help me get more clear on myself. If anything, I felt like -hey lady, you helped me to really heal something even more deeply and this experience now added energy to my life instead of sucking it away because I was able to really sit with why I was triggered and end that pattern. Long story short, this is what I mean by “master that sh!t”. - @millanasnow on Instagram

i must remember - when i gained weight it was considered socially acceptable. it was encouraged by my family and treatment team. they told me i needed to, and it was true, i did. when i gained weight they told me i looked “healthier”. i am both physically and mentally healthier, true, but “healthy” does not have a look. 🌿 i can post a picture of my weight restored body with the hashtag #gainingweightiscool and people will nod in agreement. i can post without fear of getting into an argument with someone about the size of my body, without being bullied, alienated or stigmatized. my weight restored body is one that is deemed acceptable by society. this is thin privilege. so many people in recovery are not given this same affirmation and support 🌿 many people in larger bodies are the throes of restrictive eating disorders. many people in larger/fat bodies need to gain weight - to be physically healthy, to be mentally healthy, to be their full selves. to repeat this again, there are fat people who will not recover, who will not live their fullest lives, without gaining weight and yet it is much less likely for them to receive encouragement from the world around them. 🌿 if there is a different reaction to those in larger bodies posting about their recovery journeys, please ask why, please challenge that response. many of us were taught in school to associate EDs with thinness, it makes sense that we have that association, but it’s not okay to let that association go unchallenged. to fight against EDs we must fight against weight stigma and anti-fatness, barriers to recovery for so many. 🌿 celebrate recovery at any size. celebrate weight restoration at any size. it is absolutely imperative to provide adequate, affirming, effective treatment at any size. repeat it again: restrictive eating disorders are not defined by body size. validate recovery at any size. encourage, support, celebrate recovery at any size. - @loveslifealatte on Instagram

Touch . Touch. “Touch what?” Touch up the makeup. Your skin looks wheatish. your lips bland and the dark circles. don’t even get me started. maybe your acne gets shy too. and the stretch marks gets flashed each time you bend down. and somehow it’s noticed more than the glasses that slip of your nose bridge . Touch. “Touch what?” Allow me to touch you. I am the older one. I know you are uncomfortable, but i know what I am doing. It will hurt only a little, maybe leave a scar or a few bruises. but trauma lasting an eon. and don’t tell anyone, alright? because no one will believe you . Touch. “Touch what?” Touch your husbands feet. Because it’s your duty. when he touched the partition in your hair and dropped some vermillion (sindhoor/kunkum) once, you touch his feet for a lifetime. and then, don’t you dare speak up. or else blood, in shades of maroon will drip itself out of your wounds . Touch. “Touch what?” Touch me. like a librarian caressing the spine of her books. like your soul touches heaven once your drop dead. hold me and drop your fingers into my crevices, while you kiss me. reassurance and comfort. the lights above blind me and then, don’t forget to touch your bare chest into mine . Touch. “Touch what?” Touch the phone screen. Your fingers swipe it’s way through the screen. scrolling miles fingers interlocked. the touch passwords too. the touch screen are sometimes cracked, like the ones in my heart. and each time i run my fingers through them, my fingers cut and bleed . Touch. “Touch what?” Touch yourself. But don’t tell anyone about it. do it only under your blankets, in secrecy. you don’t deserve pleasure if others come to know of it. and when you do, don’t forget to love yourself. your nails sliding through your naval or behind your ear lobes, and you know, your body responds, sometimes more than others. the fair doors to heaven are open. WHY ARE PEOPLE SO QUICK TO JUDGE YOU WHEN HALF THE TIME THEY DONT EVEN KNOW YOU! • ———— How many of these things have you been told or heard someone else say to another person?🙄 You are not alone if you have. When people are quick to hop on the train of judging you and criticising you for your decisions it can be extremely hard to handle. Most of my life I have been so worried of what others think of me and how much they will judge me for certain things I do. This has majorly altered the way I think of myself and my self worth. I used to follow people and act like them and do what they did because I would fit in with society if I did that. Well I couldn’t of felt more out of place by doing this. It’s just ridiculous that I never felt good enough to speak my own mind and to be me. It REALLY REALLY does not matter if you have a different style to someone or you don’t have that “perfect” body or dislike alcohol or if you eat more than someone else or if you go to bed early. I love to go to bed early and feel well rested! I also hate alcohol and I always have done. Own these things that make you you!👏🏼 There is nothing to be ashamed of. I used to worry about telling my friends I hated alcohol as I would think they would find me boring and not want to be my friend. I also didn’t want to tell anyone about this account as I was so embarrassed. IM VEGAN AND I HARDLY DRINK SO WHAT! There is nothing wrong with that. I’m finally being myself and being my own person because life is too short to be following a crowd to please others, thats somewhere I don’t want to be. Be true to you and be the version of yourself that makes you happy. Don’t listen to the people who judge, it’s not worth the stress and the constant fear of not fitting in as you’ll find people who love and appreciate you for you. - @liv_ingplantbased on Instagram

YOU ARE NOT MEANT TO FEEL DISCOMFORT from an “eating plan.” The more I watch some of these diets become exposed the more I feel our jobs as dietitians are as important as ever. I do admit that much of our education is rooted in understanding the science of weight management, but a common misconception is that nutrition equates to WEIGHT LOSS. IT DOES NOT. Health does NOT equate to WEIGHT LOSS - repeat that. and there are MANY RDs out there working to get this message better understood. In addition to learning science of weight MGMT, we study health (bc they are different) for YEARS. So, here is what may happen if you follow this ridiculous housewife diet (yes you Teddi Mellencamp - FYI I had never even heard of this diet and am horrified by it - again thank you @emilygellis for bringing attn to it) ❌Social isolation, metabolic disturbances, amenorrhea, hormonal imbalances, disordered eating, body dysmorphia and the list continues❌ When you finish a day and feel hunger - that is your body communicating with you. Saying - hey, you ask a lot of me each day and you are NOT giving me what I need to survive, forget thrive. When you have a headache, extreme bloating, dizziness, pain, discomfort…this is your body COMMUNICATING with you - something is wrong. But, learning what to eat to THRIVE and make you happy is a real possibility. It is something I have never believed in more. I am sorry that there are some dietitians that have confused you, I am sorry that there are some “influencers” that eat and therefore think they can tell you how to also - but here is a small list (so many more too!) of intuitive eating dietitians you can start to follow and fill your feed with the information that can improve you HEALTH not focus on your weight. @find.food.freedom @feelgooddietitian @clairechewning @laurensbalancedbites @hgoodrichrd @thewellful @dietitiananna @evelyntribole @chr1styharrison @themindfuldietitian @veggiesandchocolate - @happystronghealthy.rd on Instagram

When did you lose peace with your body? It probably wasnt recently. We were probably really young. What is the first memory you have of your body? Were you at peace then? Did those first memories hold judgement, comparison, or shame? Most of us would answer yes. Too short, legs that were too long, too weak, too many freckles, skin that was too dark, hair that was too straight, too curly, too big, too messy. Hearing the grown ups around us complain about their body and looking down at ourself and assuming the same terrible things. Hearing parents justify our body to doctors or shift the blame to us being out of control or loving candy too much or not eating the healthy foods they prepared. We lose peace with our body so young. And then we spend the next 10-80 years trying to get it back by doing things that only disconnect and harm us more. Body peace doesnt come with losing weight, or starting another diet, or getting pregnant. It takes a lot of intentional and invested work to dismantle the fat phobic racist patriarchal system of beliefs that stole it away. You are worthy of that work. You can get that peace back and I so deeply want to help. ✨ PCOS Body Peace is an 8 week online small group that will support your work back to peace. When: Saturdays at 2pm cst starting October 3rd through November 21st Investment: $400 one time payment or 3 monthly payments of $140 Why: Because you are worthy of peace now, just as you are. ✨ Head to link in bio and click on Body Peace Group to sign up! So now you are wondering what do you use!?.🤷♀️ If it not says otherwise, everything I use is from the Ordinary. And also, lukewarm water. Not cold, not hot. Lukewarm. This is my daily routine, I will be back with my weekly routines ❤️ 🌄 In the morning I wash with squalane cleanser and dab my skin almost dry. Then some hyaluronic acid and a few drops of water, some niacinamide + zinc and lastly retinol 1% in squalane. I follow up with their moisturizer (which is just a capturer holding everything in). The moisturizer is not enough on its own! Then I use either a (tinted) sunscreen or foundation with spf if I need to leave the house haha! ☀️🌤️⛅ 🌃 In the evening I double cleanse. Always! I use the same squalane cleanser to gently remove makeup/sunscreen/sebum/dirt. (One tip is to gently hold your cleanser covered fingers on your eyelids for 20 seconds so help dissolve mascara and other products.) Then I massage all over my face until I look like a clown. Remember; clown = good here. I the use The Body Shop tea tree clearing facial wash to remove everything the squalane cleanser dissolved. If needed I repeat with a little bit of facial wash. Then I dab my face dry. In the evening I like to use everything in the previous post; lactic acid 10%, azelaic acid, vitamin c suspension mixed in the palm of my hand with some pycnogenol. I let it sink in for about five minutes then I follow up with the moisturizer combined with plant derived hemi-squalane and borage seed oil. 🌌 🛑 During the summer (May/June to August), I avoid retinol during the day and go for a milder lactic acid to avoid unnecessary damage to my skin. Also, I started with milder versions of lactic acid and retinol and worked my way up to the ones I use now. Dont rush!🛑 #theordinary @deciem #thebodyshop @thebodyshop #skinroller #realisticbeauty #lacticacid #vitaminc #azelaic acid #squalane #skincare #borageseedoil #doublecleanse - @lockigaladyn on Instagram

Client Spotlight: ROBERTA 😍⠀ ⠀ I could not be more proud of this woman! ⠀ ⠀ We started Roberta on a 16 week Fat Loss phase followed by a 12 week reverse diet. She absolutely crushed it!! ⠀ ⠀ ☝🏻As you can see sustainable change takes time, consistency and patience. ⠀ ⠀ 167lbs ➡️ 144lbs ⠀ ⠀ “Nina is a fantastic coach! We worked together for 6 months and my experience with her was great. ⠀ ⠀ Her knowledge and direction put me on track to lose the weight I had been fighting to lose for years and was finally able to do it with a lot more ease because I was given the right tools to do it. ⠀ ⠀ Once we finished with the fat loss phase, we worked through reverse dieting and again her knowledge equipped me no only to increase my calories but to understand the process, trust it and, to feel comfortable through it. ⠀ ⠀ Signing up for the 16 weeks challenge earlier this year was one of the best decisions I made, and Im grateful I could continue on beyond that. ⠀ ⠀ Nina is a dedicated coach and as client you really feel well taken care of and knows she cares about your progress. ⠀ ⠀ She not only teaches you the tools in order to achieve your goals, but also reminds you to give yourself grace when you dont have a good week.⠀ ⠀ Thank you so much for everything during these past months!” -Roberta - @iamninasilic on Instagram

✨ what is meant for you won’t pass you by ✨ Take a deep breath and take that in. Today, on my 30th birthday, I’m reflecting on all of the experiences I had, and all of the choices I made in my 20s. Many brave and daring, and many based on fear, limitations and expectations. But none were ‘right’ or ‘wrong’. Life will always present us with choices. But what I’ve come to realise is that there are no right or wrong moves. No missed opportunities and no missteps, only lessons. Every choice and every lesson serves a purpose, and has brought me to where I am today. Even when it feels like time is running out or that things aren’t working out how we think they’re supposed to, we always have the choice to shift direction. We get to decide who we are in this very moment, and we get to choose faith over fear. Trusting that what is meant for us won’t pass us by. Love always, H xx - @_hannahweir_ on Instagram

☀️ - @polyatika_ on Instagram

Link in Bio!!!! Fellow South & East Asians that follow me on this platform, I urge you to usher your parents who are doctors, lawyers, engineers and businessmen/women to support the black communities & protestors during this time. Whether that be through donating supplies, first aid kits, providing numbers of lawyers for bailouts, figuring out anti tracking/ anti surveillance methods for protestors or donating to funds directly. If people in our communities were being murdered on the streets in the same way, would you stay silent?? Would you refuse to take action? I would hope not. This is a revolution for the people. Our communities have been “looted” from for centuries. We must radicalize and demand change. I plead you to click on the ***link in my bio*** and donate to the black families who have been targeted, folks on the frontline & black owned independent businesses. Simultaneously while donating, do your research!!! Refrain from giving $$ to Shaun King backed funds & white operated non profits (Minnesota freedom fund)... donate to the people in need directly. My Lucy’s coming to see me 💙 ~ ~ ~ ~ 🌞 - @yelle_p on Instagram

On day 7 of my recovery, I slipped up. It’s been hard. I know this prolonged lockdown in Australia is necessary to save lives, but there’s no denying the mental health toll it is taking on everyone. I tried to fight my ED. But then I accidentally looked at food labels, and then from there it sort of spiralled out of control. I exercised even though I was experiencing hip pain, I slipped back into some food restriction habits, and all of this triggered some pretty bad impulsive, harmful habits from the BPD side of things (I’m not quite ready to talk about it yet). I know it sounds strange. I had to actively put on workout gear and exercise. I had to actively push through pain. I had to walk to my destination to do those harmful things. I am fully aware of what I’m doing, but at the same time... not? I feel like my life is out of control, this is the only way I can be in control, and I don’t want to stop myself. And after it all passes, it feels horrible, and I feel sick with guilt. Like I failed, and there is no point to it all. But I have not failed. Relapses happen. Recovery is never linear, and I learned something: that working out is probably not the best option for me right now, because it’s too easy for ED to take over me and over-exercise, to the point of injury. And I have, several times in the past two years. If you relapse, you have not failed. It is hard to fight a battle with your own mind. Look after yourself, be gentle with yourself. Nurture every emotion you feel, whether that’s guilt or anger, don’t try to force it all down. Pick yourself up, because tomorrow is another day, another chance. You have not fallen all the way back to day one, this is just part of the process. Your relapses will become fewer, and it WILL become easier. It was never going to be easy. But it was always going to be worth the fight ✨ ••••••••••••• - @laureateluna on Instagram

I. LOVE. THIS. But I also hate it. Because I don’t feel at home in my body right now. I feel like my body is betraying me. I hate my body & all of its problems right now. I hate my brain & all of its problems right now. It doesn’t feel like my home. It feels foreign, it feels toxic, It feels like it’s failing. It feels like it’s letting me down over & over & over again. It feels like it’s stopping me from being the mom, wife , friend & boss that I want to be. It feels like it’s holding me back in every way. My mental health has never been so bad. & neither has my physical health. As y’all know, I’ve been going to therapy for a few months now. It’s helped, but I never feel like 45 minutes a week is enough. I took depression medicine & I gained 35 lbs. & still needed more help. A couple of weeks ago I was at one of my lowest points & I got an appointment with a psychiatrist. Well, they cancelled on me once I got to my appt. I was devastated. & my mental health over the past two weeks has never been worse. I can’t sleep, I rarely have energy, & a lot of the time I feel like a zombie. This week I have an online psychiatrist appt & I’m hoping to get some answers & some help. I want my body + brain back. I want my home back. I want to be the mom, wife, boss & friend that I want to be. I feel so lost, scared, alone, dark, confused & hopeless. You’ve probably noticed I haven’t been on here much & this is why. I’m literally just trying to stay alive. & I also dont feel good enough to be on here with all of you. I want to help you but I don’t even feel like I can help myself right now. But I do want you to know that if you are feeling this too, we have to keep going. We cannot give up. There is help-sometimes it feels so scary, embarrassing & HARD to get help, but there is help. There’s therapy, medicine, & other resources. & queen-whether you feel that anyone else feels this way or not-the world is 100%, 1000% a better place with you in it. I used to put my body on a pedestal, the way I perceived it that day was the way I would feel. If I thought I looked “thin” then I would feel great and if I thought I looked “fat” then my day was ruined. Not only was I associating thin with “good” and fat with “bad” but I was also putting so much emphasis on my body. I’ve spent the past several months off social media for the majority of it because I really needed to focus on myself. During this time in therapy I realized that the majority of all of my sessions revolved around my body, which kind of makes sense considering, but I had a realization that my body is only a piece of who I am, there’s so much more to me than my body. It’s eye opening taking a step back and trying to think back to when the last time in my life I didn’t make a decision based on how I felt about my body. Realizing this has allowed me to put so much into perspective. I don’t want to be the person who continuously makes decisions based on how I feel in my body that day. Remember that your body is a small piece of you, and it doesn’t define you... #selflove #selfcompassion #selfcare - @realryansheldon on Instagram

“Is intuitive eating letting your self go?“ . Intuitive eating is finally realizing you’ve been doing the same thing OVER and OVER again without success (basically the definition of insanity 🤯) and realizing there’s another way ‼️ It’s actually the best thing you can do to help yourself. ➡️To focus on listening to your own self for once. ➡️To truly learn how to eat without rules. ➡️And free yourself from the war you’ve had on yourself. . So no, it’s not letting yourself “go“. It’s the best thing you can do for yourself 🖤 - @dietitiandeanna on Instagram

Can you relate? Self-care, once aspirational, is now a balancing act between simple nourishment and existential soothing. Even as resilient and adaptable as many of us are, were still in a time of crisis— and our bodies know it. We flit around our new normal with a certain level of stability, but add any unexpected news or negative encounter and our nervous system goes haywire. The body has a certain intelligence and method to communicating our needs. Listen to the cues. Know and respect that simple acts are enough. - @innermade on Instagram

Ninguém quer ver GORDA mostrando a barriga! Incomoda, causa estranheza ! HOJE E AGORA! SE AME E SE CUIDE! QUER EMAGRECER EMAGREÇA ... MAS NÃO DEIXE DE VIVER PORQUE SEU CORPO NÃO É O QUE OS OUTROS QUEREM DEFINIR !!!Eu jamais vou deixar um rótulo me definir! #autoestima - @relaxaaifofa on Instagram

- @tianeflx on Instagram

Last year I experienced two miscarriages🍃 I was sad. I was depressed. I felt broken and ashamed. I couldn’t understand why my body wouldn’t do what it did with Orion. I had to learn that miscarriages are *very* common. Although that doesn’t make them any less painful. It was comforting to know I wasn’t alone or broken. I also had to grasp that there are so many reasons they happen. For me, I was dealing with so much pressure and stress that my body was like: “Naw, sis. What I’m not doing is carrying a child through this.” I get it now. I needed to be where I am today—safe at home and professionally at peace✨I know that’s not the cure for every woman dealing with loss, but I hope my testimony brings some comfort in knowing things can work out and they are not alone...or broken. We did not plan this pregnancy, but God/universe knew we wanted and needed this little #wombfire soul👶🏾 Sending love to all the families that have or might experience loss. A lot of times we think of the physical part of birth, not the mental part. Don’t get me wrong the physical part is real. But, the mental side is just as important. Have you heard of the fear-tension-pain cycle? Well, it’s totally normal to have some fears surrounding birth. We are in a society where it’s not unusual to have heard someone’s crazy birth story after all. Creating that fear around birth can cause tension which causes pain. Repeat. Preparing yourself for birth during your pregnancy through childbirth education and comfort techniques can help relieve some of that stress and fear. You will find many methods of birth preparation and I’m asked a lot which one I prefer. I can honestly tell you that I’ve found benefits to each one. My advice would be to read on several methods and take the things you like. If you’re searching for a doula or educator look for someone who aligns with your thinking. One thing that will forever stick with me is @champagnepapi verse “You don’t do it for the men, men never notice, you just do it for yaself, you the fckin coldest!” ✨ WHEW! A BAR‼️ I do this for MYSELF and every other lady that is insecure. I have cellulite, back rolls, huge arms etc. I’m not perfect but who is?! We all have our flaws. We are ALL insecure about something with ourselves whether we say so or not. One thing about me. I LOVE MYSELF! And NOONE can take that from me! Honestly you never know who looks up to you or who you may inspire! My advice to you, Love on yourself like it’s nobody’s business‼️ Put on your sexiest outfit/ Lingerie and take pictures in it. Dance around. 💃🏽 Keep it for when your filling down about yourself and at that time look at those pictures to remind yourself how beautiful you are! It’s not easy, believe. It took years to get to this point. But I’m comfortable enough to share this with the world. Love on yourself a little harder. Speak greatness and words of affirmation to yourself in the mirror daily for about 30 days and I promise you will love yourself like no other♥️ Other then the love your children bring you SELF LOVE is golden✨Stay beautiful! I hope this helped someone dealing with depression and insecurities. Your not alone. This isnt a before and after. Friendly reminder that acne doesnt make you ugly. Yeah my skin is pretty gnarly at the moment but I still like this photo of myself. Ive spent 2 months dealing with this hormonal acne outbreak and its slowly starting to dissipate. I feel like theres so much content around acne cures and magic creams that will remove blemishes and its all just so disheartening if and when they dont work I didnt want to post about my skin after Ive cured it Im really over feeling like acne means Im dirty or not washing my face. I havent worn makeup for months since our first lockdown vegan, apart from perhaps 3 or 4 occasions I use good quality skincare, eat a relatively healthy vegan diet, wash my pillows, drink water, take vitamins etc etc. I dont want your advice on how to fix my skin and Im not brave for having acne I just want to share a bit more reality on this platform This is an unedited photo (albeit taken on a good camera) fresh out of the shower last week And here is my skins reaction to me being stressed, anxious and dealing with an almost 6 months of lockdown. Acne might not be normal - as its usually a response to something happening in your body, but it is natural and we shouldnt be ashamed or bullied for it. - @soybabie_ on Instagram

Your body NEEDS to rest! No matter your physical goals, your body requires adequate rest to recover and that rest is ESSENTIAL to progression. Our bodies are smarter than we give them credit for and are giving us SIGNS when they need time to recover - . ACHING MUSCLES/JOINTS, SKIN BREAK OUTS, FATIGUE, INCREASED HUNGER, LOW MOOD . Your body is sending you SIGNALS and it is VITAL you listen to them without being consumed with guilt. Giving your body the rest it needs can sometimes elicit feelings of guilt around FOOD. I remember spending every rest day PLAGUED with shame around what I was eating. Whether you are moving your body or not, your body still NEEDS energy from the food you eat to keep your body FUNCTIONING. This ENERGY from food allows your body to continue BREATHING for you, REGULATING your temperature and PUMPING blood around your entire body. These functions are STILL happening when you are resting your incredible body and they REQUIRE the energy from the food you eat to do so! It is completely UNREALISTIC to get every single session in, every week, of every year. Not only is it important you are listening to your body and adapting your training accordingly, it is essential you allowing yourself to LIVE your LIFE too. Living your life will inevitably result in missed sessions, but missed sessions mean absolutely NOTHING in the grand scheme of things. Missed sessions mean you probably created MEMORIES with the people you love, YOURSELF included! The gym will ALWAYS be there, but these moments in your life won’t. They deserve to be enjoyed FULLY, even the moments spent in bed, watching your favourite movie, surrounded by all the GLORIOUS snacks! You deserve to REST your body. You deserve to EAT, even if you’re resting your body. You deserve to CREATE memories with the people you love. And you deserve to TRUST your bodies signals, without being consumed with guilt for doing so ✨ via @georginacoxpersonaltraining - @hi.ur.beautiful on Instagram

💭New Blog Post - How to Keep Motivated When Your Job Sector Is Falling Apart💭 . . . 2020 is undoubtedly the most challenging year for many of us and it feels like practically all aspects of life has been impacted in one way or another. The one major stress on my mind at present is how my specific job sector, museums and heritage, has been affected by crisis. “NO days off!!” — NO Excuses!!” — “Just work HARDER!!” — all phrases I can’t stand anymore & can be very toxic in the fitness industry. 🤦🏻♀️ Listen, I don’t only care about you getting “fit.” I care about you being WELL! ❤️ Sometimes you SHOULD take a day off!⠀ ⠀ Sometimes you NEED a day to just rest!⠀ ⠀ Sometimes your SOUL needs time with friends and family more than that workout. Sometimes that workout CAN actually be bad for you if you’re not taking care of yourself outside of the gym and are already beaten down or injured. Now don’t get me wrong ... A regular & consistent workout / movement schedule is so important for your health. It is CRUCIAL to take care of your body & continue to challenge yourself. To take responsibility and hold yourself accountable for your health. To love your body. But loving your body ALSO means listening to it when it’s hinting (or sometimes screaming) at you to SLOW DOWN. ⠀ ⠀ Trust me when I say this, because I’ve been through it — Living in the extremes too often leads to burn out & can drain you physically, mentally and emotionally, causing stress that can truly affect your health long-term. ⠀ So please, push yourself when you need a push. But rest, without shame, when you need to rest ❤️⠀ Give me an “AMEN SIS!” Below if you agree! 🙌🏻 #YourSoulSexy #SelfLove #SelfCare #wellnessjourney #healthylifestyle #selfworth #healthyliving #mentalhealth #bodyimage #selfacceptance #fitnesstips #feminist #iweigh ⠀ - @sierranielsen on Instagram

There is only one more 80-degree day for the next couple of weeks. So I’m whipping out my fave @fashionnovacurve fall coat! 🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂 As I adjust to the new weather and season, I am also adjusting to a new body. I’ve noticed some new things about my body recently, and I’m really grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow with my changing figure. When our bodies change, I think the first feeling we have is fear or depreciation. But the opposite of negativity is gratitude, and I am choosing that. My dad once told me, “change is always good,” when he broke the news that we were moving from California to Idaho. As a teenager, I thought he was crazy (and ruining my life). But as I’ve dealt with many life changes and grown from each one, I realize he is right. Change may be scary, but it’s what makes life worth living. Throughout our lives, one thing that we can count on to change is our bodies. And instead of trying to fight or prevent that change, welcome it. Take it as an opportunity to get to know yourself on a deeper level. Just so you know, your body is pretty remarkable. If life has taught me anything it’s that change is inevitable and that hating my body never got me anywhere. So as the leaves change colors, reflect on how you may be changing, too. And run with it. ❤️ —-OUTFIT DETAILS—- coat: belt your heart suede trench top: small little lies leopard top jeans: that’s all me skinny jeans discount code: NATINTHECITY fashionnovapartner - @natalieinthecity_ on Instagram

Please be kind to yourself. 2020 has been a lot to process. 🙏🏼✨❤️ Today, I am taking time to reflect on this year. It’s been a wild ride and we still have three months left. Are you excited? Or dreading the next few months? For me, I’m starting to get excited. This year hasn’t gone to plan in the least bit. But it’s funny how it’s all working out exactly how it needed to. Giving up control on how we think we will get there and just simply trusting the process. When I look back, I’m exactly where I need to be and everything that has happened was exactly what I needed — not what I wanted but what I needed. A little Sunday wisdom, the Universe will always serve us exactly what we need and I will forever trust this ❤️ I would love to hear from you about how 2020 has shaped you into the person you’re becoming? When I saw @sherryivy_ and @fullbodiedbekah post their iterations of this, I stopped in my tracks and had tears in my eyes because this is the post I’d been WAITING FOR. For so long (I’m talking YEARS) I kept waiting to lose weight for my life to “start”. I genuinely believed with every bone in my body that being thin would start a new life for me. Fast forward several years to recovery from a Binge Eating Disorder and here I am: I am fat! And I am also so many other things — a music lover, a student, a daughter, a sister, a digital content designer, a survivor of an ED...a tarot reader, a cowgirl, a plant mama, and a gal who knows every line to the Twilight Saga (😳). My weight is the least interesting thing about me! Your weight is the least interesting thing about you! So please, please, please: do not put your life on pause because you are waiting on a different version of yourself. You are made to kick ass as you are. Regardless. Of. Weight. . (Thank you @sherryivy_ for coming up with this template!!!!!) - @ohhhhhhhhhoney on Instagram

Me: *posts a regular photo of my body not looking perfect because that’s reality* Someone in the comments: oh my gosh Genna, you’re so brave! Me: ... It’s not that I think they have any malicious intent toward me. I get it they don’t, but is this really a compliment? Am I brave, just for existing in my body? Is there something so different about my body that it’s brave of me to showcase it in the gym, on a night out with friends, or on Instagram? I don’t think so. I decided to look up the definition of brave. It means “ready to face and endure danger or pain; showing courage” I read this and I thought, heck ya I’m brave. But not for the reasons people think. I’m brave for being a survivor of abuse, I’m brave for showing up for myself every day despite the messaging from society telling me not to, I’m brave for reaching out for help when I need it, I’m brave because I always stand up for what I believe in (even when it’s not the popular opinion), I’m brave because I wake up every single day and choose to live my life on my own terms. What’s your intention when you call someone brave for their body? Are you saying “you’re so brave for existing in a body that I would never claim or want to have”. Or are you saying “you’re brave for taking and owning space when the world tells you not to”. Sadly a lot of the time, context clues point toward the first intention rather than the second. Intention is everything. This isn’t to call anyone out, and sometimes we say things without closely examining the deeper meaning behind it. But today and everyday I’m here to say, you are so much more than just a body. If you’re comfortable with sharing, I would love to know one thing that makes you brave ✨ #brave #blackgirlswhoblog #fitnessblogger #motivation #fitjourney #strongwomen #fitnessmotivation #selflove #bodypositivity #survivor #discoverunder2k #discoverunder10k #selflovejourney #healthylifestyle #healthblogger - @whollygenna on Instagram

Does this clear it up? . Even when we have the very best of intentions, it is not ok to comment on someone’s body. We can be doing harm. . Over the years, I heard many stories from clients with eating disorders that they often received positive feedback for being in a small body or losing weight. People’s well intentioned comments reinforced unhealthy disordered eating behaviours. . We also don’t know what someone is going through. For example, there are many reasons for weight loss that are not a result of health (side effects of medications, mental health struggles, cancer, disordered eating etc.,). . When we comment on someone’s body (again, even with the best intentions), we are implying the body is the most interesting or important part of that person, which is likely untrue. We reinforce the belief that body and appearance matters most. . It’s difficult and awkward when we first stop making body comments (speaking from personal experience). For example, when someone mentions that they lost weight, the conventional response is to say “congratulations” and “you look great”. I used to feel awkward for not giving that response. . There is a possibility someone might feel good after receiving a body based complement, but it also might cause harm. We don’t know when it causes harm and when it doesn’t. So let’s not do it. I strongly believe that not commenting on someone’s body is doing less harm than commenting. . I am not saying don’t give complements. Absolutely go to town with complements but they don’t have to be body or appearance based. There are so many nice things we can tell others that have absolutely nothing to do with their body. Try to think of some examples. . Apologize to your body. maybe thats where the healing begins. - @nayyirah.waheed⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ —⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For many of us, apologizing *for* our bodies is a tool for survival in a world that was not designed to celebrate or affirm us. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 〰️We apologize for not feeling and being at our best during the ever-revolving rollercoaster that is 2020. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 〰️We apologize to others when our hair and bodies take up space it rightfully deserves to. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 〰️We apologize for how our bodies look when it goes through its natural journey of ebbs and flows. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 〰️We apologize without saying words by silencing ourselves. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Your body is not an apology. It is a miracle. ✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Your body has been with you from the beginning and has survived, carried, and covered you in the best way possible. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Have a healing conversation with yourself this week. Are we really going to let a lil cellulite stop us from living our life? Hell no we aren’t. Around 90% (yes 90!!) of women have cellulite, thin women too! So instead of buying stupid scrubs and leggings that “hide” cellulite, let’s just accept the fact that most of us women are gonna have it. And guess what... it’s really not a big deal. It’s literally dimpled skin... like that’s it. So don’t let these “imperfections” that we’ve been taught to hate stop you from enjoying your life. Let those thighs and booty breaaaathe! Here’s to celebrating the parts of our bodies that we were told were a problem to fixed 🙌⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m so sorry that we were ever made to think that about any part of us - we didn’t deserve that! We didn’t deserve to have the mental burden of thinking there was something wrong with us, but we also didn’t deserve to have the time and energy spent over it taken from us. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I often think - and I have to stop myself because it’s not a good road to go down - where would I be if I hadn’t had my eating disorders and extreme body image dissatisfaction. What would my life look like? What could my mind look like if I had turned its focus outwards, rather than inwards? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve made peace with that. I have to. And it’s part of the reason why I’m so vocal and passionate on here about this subject. That time has gone now for me, but for so, so many other people, the time is still there - waiting to be seized and used in much more productive, fulfilling and life-changing ways than what our bodies look like. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Your time is now - take it. - @alexlight_ldn - @fitonapp on Instagram

people! we need to stop believing the narrative that slim = healthy and fat = unhealthy. i know it’s hard to accept after years of diet culture bullshit being shoved down your throat, but it’s simply not true – you cannot tell how healthy or unhealthy a person is just by looking at them 🤷🏻♀️ i’ve had a few comments/messages lately from people expressing their ‘concern’ for my health, suggesting that it’s impossible for someone in a body like mine to be healthy. well, take it from me – my lifestyle now, compared with a few years ago when i was deeply invested in my ‘slimming world journey’, is far healthier for me – both mentally and physically 💕 sure, some people might not be able to live a healthy lifestyle in a body like mine, but does that account for everybody? no, it doesn’t. and does your concern involve their mental health too? no, it doesn’t. lots of people have health issues (like cancer patients and disabled people, for example) – does that make them any less worthy? no, it doesn’t. and does anyone else’s health concern you in the slightest anyway? no, it absolutely fucking doesn’t. ✌🏻 - @aspoonfulofalice on Instagram

I’m not talking about fitness goals or muscle gain etc and I totally agree with everyone who’s about to comment that being physically fit & healthy is important. I’m talking about the little bits of our body that are totally normal that we have been told are something to be ashamed of and today I’m focusing on cellulite. Here I am in my swimsuit not worrying about cellulite, BUT I know a lot of people do, So I googled medical journals on cellulite today so I could hit you guys with some body positive facts and the first thing that came up (followed by infinite more) was cellulite ‘treatment’ so I rolled my eyes and clicked it and it said ‘treatment- weight loss’ which I’m super confused about because a) the fittest people/ straight size models I know have cellulite (EVERYONE has fat cells on their legs) and b) cellulite isn’t a measure of excess fat or obesity, in fact it’s to do with the “interaction between the connective tissue in the dermatological layer that lies below the surface of the skin, and the layer of fat that is just below it. In women, the fat cells and connective tissue in this layer are arranged vertically. If the fat cells protrude into the layer of skin, this gives the appearance of cellulite.” It’s literally just how the fat sits beneath the skin in 80-90% of women you either have it or you don’t & it’s so hard to ignore all the BS that’s thrown at you about how to get rid of it etc but you need to step back and look at the facts, it’s not a deformity, it’s not that you’re unhealthy, models have it, athletes have it, I have it and I’m not going to waste my summer worrying about it - @katewas_ on Instagram

A little reminder to #takeitize 🤍 - @izeskincare on Instagram

No one gives up their food freedom, happiness and peace for attention.⠀ ⠀ No one tries their hardest to hide their eating disorder from others for attention.⠀ ⠀ No one chooses to live in constant misery for attention.⠀ ⠀ For someone with an ED it may feel like you’re seeking attention - at least it did for me. But to anyone doubting that right now, I want to ask you this:⠀ ⠀ Are you really trying to seek attention or are you just trying to seek validation?⠀ ⠀ There’s a big difference between crying for attention and trying to feel valid. I don’t believe anyone develops an ED to get attention but I do believe many partly develop an ED to seek validation, to finally feel noticed and cared. Also, I guess my ED was my way to try and make someone notice I’m wasn’t doing okay when I didn’t know any other way to express that.⠀ ⠀ I’ve always been a straight-A student, taught to measure my worth with external measurements. Grades, test results, people’s opinions. It was easy to add more numbers to that list. Weight, size, calories.⠀ ⠀ But now I know that as long as you keep seeking validation from external circumstances, you’ll drift more away from it.⠀ ⠀ You are valid.⠀ Your pain is valid.⠀ Your struggles are valid.⠀ ⠀ Now and forever. Not because what you accomplish but because who you are.⠀ ⠀ No need to calculate your worth with someone else’s measurements. You aren’t an attention seeker because you have an eating disorder and don’t let anyone make you feel that way. If you’re not okay, say that aloud, talk to someone. You don’t need to wait until someone else notices you’re struggling.⠀ ⠀ I don’t know how many times this can be said but you can imagine me saying “you are valid” all over again.⠀ ⠀ (And to the ones thinking people with eating disorders are just seeking attention: don’t even mind showing your face before you’ve educated yourself.)⠀ ⠀ With love,⠀ Leeah - @laurooraquotes on Instagram

HOW I WISH I WAS CHILLING IN BED TONIGHT VS ME DYING IN BED TONIGHT 💀 The big P has come back and she is RAGING😤 OH HELL, I forgot how much my periods interfere with my life🩸 I’ve been period-free for 3 months (still for an unknown reason but don’t worry I’m figuring it out!) I feel kinda scared opening up about things like this online but I think it’s so important to share our experiences so that we can educate and learn from each other! I don’t want any other woman or girl sat alone thinking they can’t open up about their menstruation, how it feels or whether they feel something may be wrong with their cycle. I’m gonna go into a lot more detail when I chat on my IGTV but my menstruation journey has been a whirlwind, a storm and an absolute shit show⛈💩 I started my period when I was 9 years old in primary school with little to no education on what was going on with my body🤷🏻♀️I started puberty early, I was called names because my body grew quicker than the other children in my year and felt pressure to be quiet, and not openly discuss my period. After experiencing excruciating pains throughout secondary school, I missed class, attended several doctors appointments and ran around in circles trying to find a contraceptive pill that would tame my period. All these hormones going in and out of body for year and years, as you can imagine, did not end well🥶🥶 I’m now in a really weird place with my body. Both body image-wise from the bloating☹️, and from the way my periods interfere with my body. My periods are irregular, heavy, unbearable and often end with me throwing up or bed-bound for a few days. It’s certainly not normal to be feeling this immense pain every single month of my life so I’m hoping to find some answers this week to put my mind at ease🧠🤍 Over the past 3 months I’ve been avoiding the internet, as I’m sure most of us have been there, spiralling into a hole of self-diagnosing and wondering what’s wrong with me. Your body is allowed to exist exactly how it is today. I had a great conversation today with @foodshareto (go to their Facebook page to watch the recording). We talked about weight stigma and fat shaming and how to dismantle those systems. The difference between body-shaming and weight stigma is that one is personal and one is systemic. Both are toxic, wrong and need to be addressed but weight stigma is specific to folks living in larger bodies and affects the ability to get fair medical care, get jobs, clothing in extended sizes and is discriminatory. This type of marginalization is built into the fabric of our society and is amplified for BIPOC. Body shaming can happen to any size person and consists of personal attacks on someone’s body shape, size, acne, cellulite, height, physical ability and more. These attacks often have lifelong effects. Both of these things have dangerous consequences and need to stop. If you move through the world in a straight sized body, I understand that you likely have been body shamed and might be carrying that trauma with you, even as you move through the world with thin privilege. You still need to address your own internal weight bias and step up to call out fat shaming when you see it. I operate from weird place of being a plus sized person...not being able to find my size in regular stores, having doctors hardly listen to my symptoms before telling me the first step is I need to lose weight, and the “look” I sometimes get when I tell I new person that I own a fitness business. But I still have thin privilege in that I am on the smaller end of plus-size and so I am seen as an acceptable amount of fat. It’s an interesting spot to be and I’m trying to use my platform to challenge the fitness industry’s problematic practices. Thanks for listening, xoxo #papayacommunity #thepapayapodcast - @nat_borch on Instagram

When a mother says shes tired, thats all she meant! She did not say she wants to drop her son and forget that he exists. When a mother says she needs some time alone, thats all she meant! She didnt say shes sorry to be a mother and that motherhood was the worst mistake in her life. When a mother says she needs help to get things done, thats exactly what she meant! She is not saying that she can’t do it .When you arrive at a mothers house and face disorganization, it doesnt mean that every day that house is a mess. When you see a nervous mother, on the edge of madness, doesnt mean every day shes in that situation. There is a whole context, a whole situation. (CW: ED recovery / food stuff) No one told me when I recovered from Binge Eating Disorder that I’d have to completely learn how to eat again. No one warned me about how complicated my relationship with food was going to get. How much I’d envy my friends who could eat food, no string attached. How I’d cry over the guilt I felt from craving a Wendy’s frosty. How I’d go from loving food to hating food to loving food and back to hating it. How just making myself a meal, making sure I ate 3 meals a day would be such a struggle so far into recovery. Picking up the pieces of BED has meant a lot of things — and somehow the simple act of making and eating food has been the most complicated. Society tells us that enjoying food is shameful and that the objective of eating should be weight loss. How have we managed to demonize something that is so essential to our survival? Food has always been a love language for me and I choose to no longer run from it. I’m starting to think cooking for myself is just as much an act of self-care as a long bath or a solid night of sleep. Some people say loving yourself is an act of rebellion, I think learning to eat again without guilt or shame is mine. If you’re still struggling with food far into your recovery journey, I am with you. ❤️ . To the person who commented on several of my posts this morning about how I am “too young to be so fat” and how self-acceptance is so bad for my health... I am sorry people with your same mindset failed you so miserably by making you think that health or worth are synonymous with weight. I’m sorry you were taught that thinness is the benchmark of wellness. I’m sorry that you were led to believe that self-acceptance is an any way unhealthy — because it’s not. You don’t know this about me (because you saw I was fat and automatically assumed so many things about me) but I had a binge eating disorder for years. The body you see today —the one you hate so much— is the most joyful version of health I have ever achieved. My relationship with movement, with food, with my mental health have never been better, and it’s not because of some “miracle” diet, the Weight Watchers points system, ‘going keto’, or counting calories. It’s because I committed to accepting and gently caring for my present body. And while you may think of my body as your worst nightmare, seeking peace with this body has been my greatest dream. So to the person who made those comments this morning— I hope one day you get to see that treating yourself with compassion and acceptance only ever leads to good things. I hope that you may one day see for yourself what it means to be at peace with your body, rather than at war with it. Hating my body never got me anywhere. Loving it gave me recovery and a chance at peace. Loving your body healthy. - @ohhhhhhhhhoney on Instagram

“but alice, what do you LOVE about yourself?” 💫 i have to admit, this little exercise was WAY harder than i expected. i (perhaps naively) thought that, as someone who shouts from the rooftops about self love and confidence, it would be a cinch – but i really had to sit myself down and think about it properly. it’s mad, really – i felt almost awkward writing these down. AWKWARD? about myself? it just goes to show how used we are to focusing on the things we dislike or feel that we need to change, rather than celebrating all the things we love about ourselves already! ✨ • so what do i really, TRULY love about myself? well, here we go – a nice little list for me to re-visit on difficult days. even if you think you’re a super confident person, i definitely recommend having a go at this – it’s challenging, but worth it! 💕 • credit to @sherryivy_ for the exercise idea. it really has lifted my spirits ☺️ 👙: @brightonlace (previously gifted as part of their ‘at home’ campaign) 📸: @headblush - @aspoonfulofalice on Instagram

The idea behind body neutrality is to help us steer away from self-hate without the pressure of having to love our body. Instead, it’s about working towards a place where we respect our bodies, but don’t give too much energy to positive or negative thoughts about it. Its misleading to force self love upon yourself because not only is it unrealistic it lacks intention. Body positivity and confidence comes when you truly start to believe it, which isnt always attainable when you spent your life body shaming, self loathing, and developing a toxic relationship with food. Neutrality is acceptance. Its a white flag. Its a promise to yourself that you are working on it. Its consistent. Its fluid as you develop a healthy relationship with yourself. Its not sexy... our brains like extremes. Love/hate. Yes/no. Fat/skinny. But it simplifies things. It allows us to take a step back to see our bodies for what they are - our home. Typically when we have a strong negative reaction towards something its because we dont believe in them, we dont understand their point-of-view. How do you force love or hate upon something you dont understand? You communicate, spend time, listen, you build a relationship with yourself. And not to say its easy, because its not. But some of the hardest relationships are the ones worth fighting for. 📸: @lily.p.yang #rivyourbestlife - @rivyourbestlife on Instagram

100% of what you see on ig is what ppl want u to see 💁♀️ i do the same shit! this picture is proof of that because rn im on the couch in a ratty shirt and shorts, refusing to take pictures of myself because my body image has been THAT bad. i dont post when im sobbing in the shower because i hate my body. i dont post when i have to force myself to eat when my mind is telling me to starve. i dont post when im screaming at my reflection in the mirror. i dont post when im pinching the fat on my stomach and thighs. i dont post when i compare myself to actresses/models/characters in books i find beautiful. and chances are the influencers u stan who never show their bad days dont either. so dont let a square on this hell site make u question ur self worth, ur journey, ur body, nothing. because its alllllllll a show. lmfao im literally gonna make an onlyfans where its my bad days so u can pay to see what a mess i really am 🙃 - @laraonfire on Instagram

something i wish someone told me about my body: having a darker skin tone between your cheeks is completely normal and nothing to be embarrassed of!! & its usually caused by genetics and/or everyday friction. plus! darker skin and butt acne can happen on butts of ALL shapes and sizes and it isnt something you need to fix or stress about cosmetically. so no more wanting to fix ur booty cause ur butt is perfectly normal just the way it is! #normalizenormalbodies - @laraonfire on Instagram

This is a mantra that I use a lot. When you have body dysmorphia, you can’t see what’s really there. When you’re listening to your ED, you can’t see what’s really there. When you have gender dysphoria, you can’t see what’s really there. And that’s okay! We can recognize that and then just... move on. Sometimes I look in the mirror and I think about how much I hate how I look. But how could I have changed that much, considering I loved myself the day before? I didn’t change, my perspective did. Acknowledge that you aren’t seeing the real you, and then continue. It’s hard, I’m never going to deny that. Body acceptance & recovery in general is, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do it ❤️ - @recoveringwithme on Instagram

Just stop. 🛑🙏🏻 Stop leaving unsolicited comments with so-called “health advice” or “concerns” on strangers’ pages online. Why?⠀ ⠀ 1️⃣ You are not their doctor, trainer, nutritionist or health coach. You have zero qualifications. If you do, did they even ask for help?? ⠀ 2️⃣ There is so much more to health than what you are eating, how much you exercise or what you look like. Your mental, emotional & physical health are all a part of your health. ⠀ ⠀ 3️⃣ Healthy bodies come in different shapes & sizes. You cannot always identify someone’s health status just by looking at them. Yes, you can even be shredded & be incredibly unhealthy. ⠀ ⠀ 4️⃣ Your limited perspective of what it means to be beautiful & healthy is your problem, not theirs. ⠀ ⠀ 5️⃣ It’s none of your business. Period. You don’t know them. You don’t know what their goals are. Where they are in their journey. And you have no idea what they may be going through behind these little squares. ⠀ ⠀ 6️⃣ Lastly, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, you’re not “helping” them, you’re shaming them. And shame is not a positive change-maker or motivator. It rarely helps anyone. In fact, it usually produces the opposite effect. As @brenebrown says, “Shame corrodes the very part of us that believes we’re capable of change.”⠀ ⠀ So please, stop online body shaming in the name of “health.” And to anyone facing this kind of shame online, remember, their judgements are a reflection of them, not you. ❤️🙏🏻 #YourSoulSexy - @sierranielsen on Instagram

It is not coincidence that so many of us feel down on ourselves. It is not a coincidence that so many of us feel our bodies are a battleground. It is not a coincidence that white, slim, able-bodied, cisgender bodies are celebrated the most. There are so many forces at play - capitalism, white supremacy, to name a few - that benefit from us feeling bad about ourselves, and work hard to make sure we do. If we feel bad about ourselves there are plenty of marketing opportunities to target our insecurities with. We buy products that dont work for problems we dont have, and the cycle goes on. Every few years theres something new to feel insecure about, so that more products can be sold to us. Bingo wings, cellulite, cankles....all these terms for naturally occurring things on our bodies that got demonised and all for what? So well buy the latest diet regimen, creams and other such nonsense. Us feeling bad also means we disconnect from ourselves and our bodies, which works out well for oppressive structures that dont want us to disrupt and speak up. How can we rally and rise up if were occupied with how not-enough we are? Its time to break the cycle. You have always been enough. You are enough. And you will always be enough. Write it on your mirror! Write it in your journal! Put it as your phone screen! Repeated exposure to positive affirmations has such an amazing effect on our self esteem. Never forget your enoughness. You feeling enough breaks the cycle. #TotallyTubular🤙🏻 [Image description: Kitty is sitting on the floor and glistening. She wears a feathery trim black floral print bra and black underwear. i think it’s so easy for us to get caught up in war with our bodies when there are more important issues at stake. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ most of the time our bodies are battle grounds because we know we can hate them but they can’t hate us back. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ when things start going awry in our lives we can turn in on our bodies and say “YOU’RE the problem,” end effectively damage them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ but your body loves you. no matter how much you hate on it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ keep focused on your values, keep noticing when you start to be pulled into being critical of the way you look and how it’s symptomatic or something larger 🧡 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ in it with you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #growthroughwhatyougothrough #personalgrowth #personalgrowthjourney #selfhate #selflovejourney #backfat #loveyourselffirst #loveyourcurves #bekindtoyourself #kindnessmatters #kindnessiscontagious #gratitude - @kenziebrenna on Instagram

Just a reminder that how you feel in your vessel is whole lot more f*cking important than how someone else feels when looking at you. What others say about you has nothing to actually do with you and is just a projection of their own reality. You dont need to get all lost in their narratives. Just embody what makes you, YOU 🙂 You do not owe the world pretty. You do not owe the world perfect. Your beauty is not the rent you pay in this world to exist. How you feel about yourself both mentally and physically is completely up to you and your own inner peace. You know yourself best! You get to decide what happiness is to you! So, next time anyone tries to shrink you down to make you feel less than - you take up ALL the damn space babygirl 👏🏽 QUEEEN ENERGYYYYY - @ohheyimkayla on Instagram

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT. The idea of “the perfect body” is an oxymoron because there would need to be a standard body for that to be true. A uniformity to aspire to perpetually. But there IS no perfect body. There is absolutely no way that we can, or should, all look exactly the same. We love that body diversity 🙌🏽🧡 - @bodyloveandbeyond on Instagram

Ugh. I’ve hated my stomach since I was 11 and first tried on a bikini. I remember my mom and her friend telling me in the dressing room I had a beautiful body. All I saw were rolls, which really was just a scrunch in my skin. I was small. What on earth made me think this way? Oh, magazines, commercials, television, movies... it’s so sad. From there I hit puberty and grew curves and I just felt fat. I was called fat in school. I was a size 2. I started working out and eating half of my meals. Then my mother passed and I gained a ton of weight. I was ok with my body but loathed my stomach. I had a baby, the loathing grew. After my baby I vowed to lose weight and I got in the best shape of my life but that pooch... refused to go. It was my biggest insecurity but my body was the strongest it’d ever been. I wish I had valued it more instead of focusing on my stomach. I remember leaving a restaurant after eating sweet potato fries cause I felt so guilty. 😩 Fast forward to today after marriage and another bambino... I can’t stand the feeling or the site of my belly and I’m so disappointed in myself for it. I love the body God gave me but I’ve never reconciled my relationship with my stomach. At the same time I know this belly gave me two beautiful babies so I want to love it. I want to love my belly. I’m going to work on it. I’m not leaving this earth not in love with you. What body parts do you struggle to love? PS. My mind spiraled on this after reading @paigearminta recent post.
