I have been blessed with a resume I never thought imaginable when you grow up where I grew up. But my most proud accomplishment is defending my country. I heard the stories of soldiers coming back from Vietnam being shouted at, spit on, and cursed out. I never experienced that. I was always shown respect and courtesy. I could never imagine my own president being the person to disrespect those who came before me, those who served with me, and those who served after me. For every 100 warriors that say yes when their country calls, 10,000 say no. We sweat and blood for our country. For very little pay, and reward. We dont ask for parades, trophies or extra recognition. But what we do ask for is for the respect we earned, and for you to have our backs. We are willing to take bullets and give our lives for you. The least you can do is have our backs when our commander in chief dishonors our commitment and sacrifice. To the losers and suckers that donned the uniform and stood on that wall with me, it was an honor to serve alongside you. To those who went before me, thank you for keeping us safe until we could take the watch. And for those who came after me, thank you for keeping the next generations safe and taking us to the next level. And for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, regardless what the president says, you are not losers. You are heroes. You died so others may live. Your sacrifice will be honored by those who have your back. Let your soul be at peace knowing your brothers and sisters in uniform will defend you, even when those that say they support you dont. We will continue to fight for you. When we served, we knew we could only depend on each other. You knew your teammates had your back. Well we may not be on station or in the field, but were still your teammates (or at least some of us are- some traded in their uniforms for party affiliations). We will continue to have your back.
