650 classes ✅ These four walls have changed my life and they’ve changed me. I give myself an hour (or two) everyday to show up for myself, to work my ass off and to appreciate how far I’ve come. I give myself time to work toward where I want to be and who I want to be. An hour a day, for me. There are days I feel strong and unstoppable and days I am far too critical of myself but everyday I feel supported, uplifted and grateful. Everyday I’m reminded that I’m capable, appreciated, worthy and valued. Gestern war ich beim @ultraschwimmen in Münster am Hafen dabei. Auf Grund der Coronabestimmungen durften nicht so viele Leute wie in den letzten Jahren teilnehmen und es wurde in kleinen Gruppen gestartet. Der Abstand konnte auf dem Gelände und im Wasser gut eingehalten werden und es war schön viele bekannte Gesichter wiederzusehen. Die 4km Distanz konnte ich zudem in 50:08min auch knapp vor Lukas Kaiser gewinnen. A broken pubic bone and inflamed muscles explain the pain I was still having after crashing my bike two weeks ago. 🙄 I usually struggle with handling injury and setbacks. My run is my big insecurity and even running one kilometer less than prescribed gives me a lot of stress, makes me lose my confidence and even makes me doubt my dreams. Obviously missing weeks of it is a bitter pill to swallow, but I learned a lot from how I handled past injuries. My goal this time is to do everything I can to come back stronger than before and not letting my head down. Минувшая суббота запомнится мне надолго - 28-30.08.2020 проходил 20й Кубок братьев Агеевых и Олимпийских чемпионов Ю.Постригай и А.Дьяченко @aaacup.ru Я долго не могла решиться подать заявку, но ребята из команды @gosup.moscow меня поддержали, и я это сделала! Мои первые соревнования такого уровня, первый опыт старта с ловушек и гребли по дорожкам. Предстартовый мандраж начался еще в пятницу, а к субботе достиг своего апогея - я не могла усидеть на одном месте и 10 минут, но как только я зашла на территорию гребного канала, меня начало отпускать. Хочется сказать спасибо Саше @aleksandra_8_8_8_ за то, что слушала мои стенания, а Оле @merkulova_ola за поддержку и наставления😎 Мой результат на 200м - 1️⃣:2️⃣2️⃣,9️⃣4️⃣2️⃣ Я пришла 4 из 6 в своём заезде и в финал не попала, но совершенно не расстроилась! Мое время 10 из 18 участниц (финальный заезд не учитывала). Год назад я была в Москве и смотрела на ребят, участников Кубка Росии и выложила сторис с подписью «надеюсь, однажды мы станем соперницами», и мы стали! Not only were my boys State Champions, but also Head of the River champions, a feat no senior crew had achieved in 7 years. Fortunately we also had the opportunity to compete at the Australian National Rowing Championships in the school boys and under 19’s divisions, rubbing shoulders with some of the best rowers and fellow coaches in Australia. My time rowing coaching bought to the surface my passion for building relationships and getting the most out of those around me, along with a real thirst for knowledge. And boy did I enjoy it!! 1. Петровский марафон в этом году был многообразен по ветровым выпадам. То штиль, то попутный, то встречный, то боковой. Так же в отличии от традиционного июля, в августе появились водоросли, которые переодически зацеплялись за нос и руль. Последние 1,5 км все было очень драматично для нас, так как мы стали набирать воду. У наших визави у большеохтинского моста сорвало руль. Двое одиночников из нашей команды в городской черте вывернулись вообще. This was my last stand with my high school Ngā Puna o Waiorea back in 2014 and watching this video again makes me so proud and happy to have been brought up in indigenous schooling where I was able to learn and speak my native tongue freely and learn about my culture every day. For those who don’t know, during my parent’s time speaking Te Reo Māori was banned in school so there are so many of our kaumātua (elders) who were and are still affected by this. Our language is our birth right and colonization will never take that from us. I am proud to be part Māori and encourage my indigenous brothers, sisters and siblings to learn our language. 🚨POST-ATHLETE LIFE CONFESSIONS🚨 lol idk what to call this post but i decided to speak it into the void that is instagram. for the majority of my life, i had “man shoulders”. these shoulders come with being a competitive swimmer. i’ve recently realized that how i was built as a swimmer made some of my non-athlete classmates in high school and college super uncomfortable, especially boys. these boys (and yes i’ll call em boys bc real men respect women and their bodies 💁🏻‍♀️) for a long time made me feel uncomfortable in class and at school because i was more muscular and masculine looking than your average girl. for example, they’d give me looks or glares like “oh wow look at the freak” or “who gave you the right to be bigger than me?” currently, my shoulders are much smaller because i am not swimming thousands of yards a week, and i’m not gonna lie there are times where i miss them. despite the wishes of my misogynistic male classmates, i’d grown to love my shoulders and muscles over the course of high school and college. i loved being as strong or stronger than the boys. i also realized that their comments and mean looks were stupid and that i shouldn’t be bothered by small, closed minded people. instead if feeling insecure, i was confident in my appearance because it correlated directly to how hard i trained and worked for the success i had in swimming. getting to this confidence and acceptance of myself and my body was not easy or quick; it takes time and a security within yourself to be able to project this confidence into the real world. if you can take one thing away from this post, it’s not to be ashamed of how muscular or not muscular you are. all that matters is that you are happy with yourself inside so that you can display that happiness on the outside. i know this is easier said than done. again, i’m not perfect and need to listen to my own advice sometimes (lol okay most of the time). have a good thursday y’all!! hope you enjoyed the ramblings of a swammer who really misses having shoulders the size of texas 🤠 #postathletelife #fitness #throwbackthursday #fitnessmotivation #transformationthursday #fitfam #fitnessgirl #fitspiration - @hannahmae_fitness on Instagram

Class: Junior Sport: Rowing Major: Supply Chain Management Hometown: The Woodlands, Texas Fun Fact: I was a competitive swimmer before i started rowing in high school “Mental health is an extremely important aspect of an athletes everyday life. Sadly it’s often an aspect that’s over looked within college athletics. I struggled with my mental health through high school and again when I was injured my sophomore year. While I knew numerous resources were available on campus and within athletics I felt the stigma with getting that help, because I didn’t want to be labeled. The stigma surround mental health drove me to research and try to develop ways to eliminate this feeling a lot of athletes have. I believe the first step is having a conversation to identify the stigmas and figuring out an action plan to combat them. THO provides amazing resources for athletics and reiterates the importance of starting this conversation and getting mental health into the college athletics spot light! La perla blanca es para… (repiqueteo de redoblantes) El plan de regata (cierra platillo). Que extraño gualicho… que curiosa divinidad se esconde en un plan de regata. Hoy me alinié  full-race al diseñado por Guille Guerci, por supuesto con las instancias previas necesarias para una ejecución acorde: antecedentes de pruebas similares, datos de últimos trabajos y criterios de ejecución. “-No te salgas del plan!!!” Lo mejor fue experimentar como el plan te ordena la cabeza, incluso antes de la prueba. Es el guion para las técnicas de visualización y autodialogo además, impide que  subestimes la prueba en los primeros metros donde la cabeza te dice apretá que vas boludeando y hacia el final, cuando el cuerpo entra en caos, el plan reprime la anarquía de pensamientos que promueven el ablande. Esta vez, ni las lesiones del tren inferíor ni la disminución visual tuvieron el papel principal. Todos los premios para el plan de regata. @ultraczech515 DAY ONE: 10k swim + 145k bike: 1st place, 6:37. We started into cold rising fog and finished under hot sun. I felt great in the water and fought for the lead for the first 2k portion. One wrong turn cost me roughly 50m and I stayed on my own. Tried for the next 8k to come back, but still felt a minute short. 2:51 was 4 minutes slower, when my record breaking race last year. Onto the bike it took me 20k to warm-up and take the lead. From that point on, I kept steady pace all the way to the finish with 39.2 kph average. Its time for a #TuesdayTip! This #tip is geared towards everyone following along in the @paddleninjatraining 10k challenge and trying to develop their aerobic systems. Whether youre following our 10k training plan or one of your own, it is likely that youre performing intervals or repeats. When you open the workout for the day, you see a target heart rate zone that seems IMPOSSIBLY LOW for something that may be only 2-4 minutes long. Not to mention a rest interval! Who needs a rest interval when the effort is that low?!? You hop on the water and do your first interval, at the target heart rate, you didnt even feel like you were moving. What benefit could there be in this? You assume it is some mistake and perform the remainder of your intervals at a clip that gets your heart rate and breathing up - and the heart rate follows, a little higher each repeat. Youre feeling pretty gassed by the last one, and you feel good. It was your easy day. Problem is, what system did you train? Im assuming you dont really know. Did you travel the same distance in each interval? Im assuming you didnt keep track. Stop doing that. These seemingly simple aerobic intervals can be deceiving - they can also be HUGE for performance gains, if you do them right. Believe it or not, the goal IS TO GO FAST-ish! Faster than your 10k pace. But not as fast as possible. At the end of each interval, you should still be in the prescribed zone. The little rest enables you to go just as fast in the next interval as you did in the first, without busting out of your zone. To put it another way: aerobic intervals are built (with duration and rest) so you CAN go faster but keep the metabolic stress and adaptation aerobic. You also want to be consistent, and try to cover the same amount of distance in each piece (conditions depending). Again, your pace/speed will likely be faster than your aerobic pace, but b/c youre taking breaks and working for shorter periods, all the benefits will be endurance related. Try focusing really hard on your breathing and technique during your next aerobic interval session to see if you can learn how to get your board/boat go faster while paddling relaxed. - @aprilzilg on Instagram

El comunicado se hizo justamente el día que se cumplía la sanción de los seis meses de suspensión que recibió de parte de la Asociación Argentina de Remeros Aficionados cuando lo acusaron por actos de indisciplina, durante una concentración en Tafí del Valle en medio de una situación que nunca terminó de ser clara. Ahora que la pandemia postergó el Sudamericano de remo que iba a ser el torneo clasificatorio a los Juegos Olímpicos de Tokio, la Asociación sigo poniendo excusas para no dejarlo ser parte. Hoy Brian Rosso es el mejor singlista nacional. Sus resultados en los últimos años de selectivo lo avalan. El correo enviado señala que:…”por decisión del Cuerpo Técnico, no lo consideran para formar parte de la Selección Nacional. La resolución fue tratada en la reunión del Consejo Directivo del 9 de septiembre siendo aprobada por unanimidad. Con esta medida, queda más que claro y confirmado que el tema es personal. What an amazing weekend in Szeged! This year we’ve missed international competition a lot, but the great races seen in the hungarian course were worth it! Primer triatlón del año!! Conclusiones: - hay que entrenar más el quitarse el neopreno a 1000 pulsaciones (salí por primera vez con el grupo de cabeza y perdí 2-3 posiciones por culpa de eso). - Tengo que meter un punto más de bici. - Punto positivo: la felicitación de 2 jueces por respetar la distancia de drafting. Primera prueba para ver cómo estoy. Nadando, 2 vueltas, golpes al principio hasta que consigo poner “velocidad crucero”. Salgo en grupo delantero aunque en carrera no me doy cuenta de ello... En bici, 2vueltas, en la primera me pasan unos cuantos (bastantes) y ya empiezo a pensar que hoy no es mi día, cuando realmente no voy nada mal (para mi) rodando a casi 37 de media en un recorrido de 49kms con 500m+/vuelta. Segunda vuelta uno me empiezan a dar ánimos, me vengo arriba y me dejo de tonterías. Recupero un par de posiciones y me bajo a correr. En la carrera, primer kilómetro muy rápido y decido regular. 22kms por tierra con subidas de trail que al parecer me vienen bien... empiezo a coger coger gente (también 2 vueltas) y a pensar que quedar en posiciones más altas que mi dorsal,17, (siempre hay que quedar por delante del dorsal que uno tiene😬) es posible... al final en la última vuelta adelanto a uno que me dice “vas el 19” y a lo lejos veo a dos más así que aprieto y al final entro en meta el 13º (eso de contar...) A group of select athletes from the Mens and Womens squads have been training at Wallingford since the start of September.
