•Abbazia di Montecassino (Frosinone)📸 L’Abbazia di Montecassino è uno dei luoghi di culto più importanti del Lazio e d’Italia e può essere definita come la culla del monachesimo occidentale. Venne fondata nel 529 da San Benedetto da Norcia, su una zona dove in tempi passati sorgeva un’antica torre e un tempio dedicato ad Apollo. Nel corso della sua storia, l’Abbazia di Montecassino, posta su una collina a 519 metri di altezza, ha subito numerose vicende fatte di distruzioni, saccheggi, terremoti e successive ricostruzioni. Il teatro di Tauromenion avrebbe unorigine ellenistica ,sulla base dei pochi documenti archeologici potrebbe essere del III secolo a.C., ma si presenta totalmente romano nel suo aspetto oggi visibile. La struttura originaria era legata ad un piccolo santuario di cui resta il basamento sul belvedere che sovrasta la cavea. A partire dagli anni cinquanta il teatro è stato impiegato come struttura teatrale allaperto per varie forme di spettacolo che spaziano dal teatro ai concerti, dalle cerimonie di premiazione del David di Donatello ai concerti sinfonici, dallopera lirica al balletto. According to #legend, one day the #Devil let his #imps out to play and two of them found their way to #Lincoln. One headed into the #Cathedral and began to cause chaos; tipping up furniture, teasing the choir and vergers, even knocking over the Bishop. As the imp started to break the windows, an #angel called upon him to cease, but the imp took no notice, cheekily calling out “Stop me if you can!” But ultimately good triumphed over evil; As the Imp rested, high up in the Angel Choir, the angels turned him to stone and he remains there to this day, a reminder to anyone else that may be thinking of making mischief. Sharp eyed visitors may be able to spot him - you’ll have to look closely though as the stone figure of the Lincoln Imp is only around 12 inches tall and sits high up between two arches on the north side of the choir. Photo: Carole Raddato Source: Wikimedia Commons ° ° ° The Barberini Faun One of my favorite museums I like to visit repeatedly is the Glypothek in Munich. Today I would like to introduce the highlight of their collection: The Barberini Faun. A sculpture of a sleepy satyr or faunus in the form of a young, muscular man. Probably created around 220 BC. It is debatable whether it is a Roman or Greek artwork. If you walk around the figure, you will discover a horse’s tail on the lower back – which indicates with the pointed ears to a faun – a mystical being between humans and animals. The naked figure is leaning on a rock spur and has a considerable total height of 1.81 m. The ancient masterpiece was found in 1620 during excavations in the trench of Castel Sant’Angelo in Rome, which had been commissioned by Pope Urban VII. At time the right leg, parts of the hands and head were missing. Cardinal Maffeo Barberini commissioned the Italian artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini (1598–1680) with a restoration, whereby the missing parts were also added. They changed the figure into a baroque sense of style with a stronger sexual orientation. Afterwards the sculpture was part of the Barberini collection in their palace in Rome and has since been named after the Barberini house. In 1813 Johann Martin von Wagner acquired the figure on behalf of Prince Ludwig of Bavaria (the later King Ludwig I of Bavaria) from the Barberini, who were in financial difficulties and had it transported across the Alps from Rome to Munich. At the request of the King Ludwig I of Bavaria in 1830 the faun has been exhibited in the Glypothek in Munich, where it is still one of the main attractions nowadays. Due to the transport from Rome the figure lacks in its current state fingers of the right hand, the left arm, the left foot and the foremost part of the penis. Sì, proprio il grandioso tempio eretto al tempo di Pericle [449-438 a.C.] sull’acropoli di Atene e dedicato ad Atena Parthenos [vergine], dea protettrice della città . È un frammento del fregio orientale che raffigura la processione delle Panatenee, la più importante festa ateniese, con l’offerta del peplo [tunica femminile] sacro ad Atena davanti agli dei dell’Olimpo . Il marmo palermitano appartiene al piede di una figura femminile, probabilmente Artemide [dapprima identificata con Peitho [dea della persuasione], e ci permette di ammirare la scultura ateniese di età classica, creata da Fidia, lo scultore più importante dell’antica Grecia . Ma com’è arrivato al Salinas questo pezzetto del famoso Partenone? . Grazie alla raccolta di Robert Fagan, console inglese in Sicilia al tempo dei Borboni e collezionista di antichità, che effettuò anche scavi a Tindari [Messina] . Dia desses questionaram-me sobre a principal diferença entre a escola filosófica de Platão e a escola filosófica de Aristóteles. Respondi que, além do nome (“Academia” era a de Platão, e “Liceu” a do Aristóteles), as filosofias de ambos pensadores divergia no ponto mais magistral de todos: “Como e por que gente pensa?”, ou seja, a Origem do Pensamento, a Origem da Racionalidade, a Origem das Ideias. Para Platão nós, antes de nascermos, temos contato com o Mundo das Ideias, aonde conhecemos todos os conceitos de tudo que está ao nosso redor. Porém, justo no momento antes de virmos a este mundo, beberíamos a água do Rio Léthe, o “Rio do Esquecimento”, e portanto passaríamos a ter apenas uma ideia do que realmente são as coisas e seria necessário, aqui na Terra, relembrar todos os conceitos agora esquecidos. Ou seja, as ideias para Platão eram INATAS. Já nasciam com o ser humano. Já Aristóteles pensava muito diferente. Se Platão enxergava a existência de um Mundo Ideal (Mundo das Ideias), Aristóteles era muito mais Realista (“res” = coisa). Enxergava o Mundo das “Coisas”. E portanto o Conhecimento seria alcançado principalmente através da Experiência dos humanos com as “coisas”, com o mundo tangível, com o mundo tocável. Ou seja, as ideias para Aristóteles eram apreendidas através dos sentidos, elas eram EMPÍRICAS. Pensando sobre isto me lembrei do gigantesco afresco que está pintado nos aposentos do Papa Alexandre VI, desde 1501 lá no Vaticano. Dentre os inúmeros filósofos que compõe a “Escola de Atenas”, Rafael retratou nas duas figuras centrais Platão e Aristóteles. Se vocês observarem com atenção, verão que Platão, o mais velho e professor de Aristóteles, caminha com sua “República” embaixo do braço, e aponta o indicador direito para cima, para sua Origem do Pensamento, seu “Mundo das Ideias”. Já seu pupilo Aristóteles peripateticamente divaga com o seu mestre carregando sua “Ética Nicomaqueia” em uma das mãos e estendendo a outra para baixo, sobre a sua Origem do Pensamento, espalhada na “Experiência vivida no Mundo Real”. Il Galata suicida, oggi noto grazie ad una copia romana risalente al I secolo a.C., fu realizzato da Epìgono intorno al 220 a.C. La scultura, così come il Galata morente, faceva parte del Donario di Attalo, un monumento trionfale - oggi perduto - situato sullacropoli di Pergamo e commissionato da Attalo I per celebrare la vittoria contro i Galati. La spada corta trafigge il guerriero intenzionato a togliersi la vita. Le gambe divaricate sorreggono la scultura. La torsione dei due corpi sottolinea la resa realistica dellopera: mentre la donna si lascia cadere stremata di fronte allo spettatore, il guerriero volge fieramente allindietro il volto. Il realismo è inoltre accentuato dalla raffigurazione dei tratti somatici del guerriero celtico. Quebra de paradigmas Edição 266 Por Roberta Gonçalves Recentemente, um turista austríaco gerou indignação ao quebrar uma obra centenária do Museu Antonio Canova, no Vêneto, enquanto fazia fotos. O incidente coloca em discussão a necessidade de preservação dos patrimônios artístico e histórico, porém com um turismo mais consciente Os números impressionam. A Itália guarda cerca de 4 mil museus, 6 mil áreas arqueológicas e 85 mil igrejas em seu território, concentrando a maior quantidade de patrimônios da humanidade pela Unesco. A fama atrai grande interesse dos turistas, que muitas vezes se empolgam na hora da foto, comprometendo a integridade das obras. Foi o que aconteceu em agosto no Museu Gypsotheca Antonio Canova, na cidade vêneta de Possagno, quando um turista austríaco danificou a escultura centenária esculpida em gesso Paolina Borghese, que teve três dedos quebrados do pé direito. Obras como essas de Canova costumam ser muito apreciadas por seu grande valor artístico e histórico. Um levantamento de 2016 feito pelo Dipartimento della Ragioneria Generale dello Stato, órgão vinculado ao Ministério da Economia italiano, revela que as peças classificadas como bens móveis de valor cultural valem em torno de 174 bilhões de euros, o que equivale a cerca de 10,4% do PIB italiano. Turista pediu desculpas O caso da escultura Paolina Borghese tornou-se emblemático de desrespeito com a arte. O turista austríaco buscava a melhor pose para a foto e praticamente deitou-se sobre a obra, causando o incidente. Em seguida, saiu sorrateiramente, sem denunciar o que havia acontecido. Contudo foi flagrado posteriormente pelas câmeras do museu e identificado pelo sistema de registro local. Devido à pandemia, os frequentadores do museu devem deixar seus dados de localização na entrada para serem contatados caso um surto seja constatado no local. Alguns dias depois, o turista escreveu uma carta a Vittorio Sgarbi, presidente da Fundação Canova Onlus, desculpando-se e disponibilizando-se a ajudar. Em uma postagem de seu Facebook, Sgarbi manifestou sua indignação com o acontecimento. Pediu uma rigorosa investigação sobre o caso. Betritt man die Kirche bemerkt man sehr schnell wie alt die Kirche bereits ist. Sie wurde von Otto I. im 12. Jahrhundert an der Stelle eines heidnischen Quellheiligtums dem Hellabrunn gegründet. Die Mönche schlussfolgerten aus der fehlerhaften lateinischen Übersetzung des Namens den heutigen Namen Heilsbronn also Heilbrunnen. Die Quelle wurde fortan als Heilbrunnen bekannt und lockte so viele Pilger und Gläubige nach Heilsbronn. Die Quelle ist auch heute noch intakt und kann als Wasserquelle benutzt werden. Der Innenraum der Kirche zeigt ganz klar den Stil einer romanischen Basilika erkennbar unter anderem an den Säulen und Rundbögen an den Seitenwänden aus rotem Sandstein. Ebenfalls befinden sich im Innenraum der Kirche Gräber der Adelsfamilie Hohenzollern welche im nächsten Post genauer betrachtet werden. When you enter the church, you quickly notice how old the church is. It was founded by Otto I in the 12th century on the site of a pagan spring sanctuary Hellabrunn. The monks inferred the current name Heilsbronn from the incorrect Latin translation of the name. From then on, the spring became known as a healing fountain and attracted so many pilgrims and believers to Heilsbronn. The spring is still intact today and can be used as a water source. The interior of the church clearly shows the style of a Romanesque basilica, recognizable among other things by the columns and arches on the side walls made of red sandstone.
