Few of you asked me about the Thankuni pata recipe that I shared in my last post. I made a simple thankuni pata bata (raw paste of the leaves) that I learnt from my sister in law. . Wash and pick the leaves, keep 1of the stem which is softer in texture. I used close to 1.5 cups of leaves (loosely packed). Dry roast 3 small cloves of garlic, 1/2 tsp of nigella seeds and little green chili on low till they are roasted and get some char marks. Swipe to see the picture. . Grind everything together, preferably in a mortar and pestle without water. The quantity is not enough to grind in the mixie jar. Take out in a plate. Heat a tsp of mustard oil till smoking and then pour it over the paste. Mix and have with steamed white rice. The last picture. .
