🇮🇹 Case Terrazzo di Efeso, Turchia. Il complesso delle Case Terrazzo di Efeso è costituito da lussuose dimore residenziali e si colloca vicino alla via dei Cureti, di fronte al Tempio di Adriano. Nel periodo classico, dal VI al IV sec. a.C., larea fu adibita a necropoli. Nel 200 a.C. furono costruite tre terrazze. Sulla terrazza settentrionale fu costruita unabitazione di rappresentanza, mentre sulle altre terrazze si sviluppò un quartiere artigianale. Nel corso della costruzione delle unità abitative romane però le precedenti strutture ellenistiche furono demolite e livellate. Ciò che rimane di tali strutture offre una incredibile visione veritiera degli agi e della vita lussuosa domestica della classe aristocratica romana di Efeso a partire dai magnifici affreschi, dai pavimenti a mosaico e dalle decorazioni in marmo dei vari ambienti. 🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️ 🇬🇧 Terrace Houses, Ephesus, Turkey. The complex of the Terrace Houses of Ephesus consists of luxurious residential residences and is located near the Curetes Street, in front of the Temple of Hadrian. In the classical period, from the sixth to the fourth century. BC, the area was used as a necropolis. In 200 BC three terraces were built. A representative house was built on the northern terrace, while an artisan district developed on the other terraces. During the construction of the Roman housing units, however, the previous Hellenistic structures were demolished and leveled. Ive always loved these mash-ups of different styles of Moroccan artistry. I feel like if you described this to someone the first thought would be that would never look right... But, when you see it created its gorgeous! Morocco has challenged me in so many ways. To see colors and patterns together that I always thought couldnt work together. The top of this is Arabic writing chiseled into stone. Below it is tile work, underneath that are the names of Allah (God) that have been chiseled out of a single pieces of tile. At the bottom is again tile work where each tile is chipped and laid out one by one. This work is amazing, its timeless and its truly a craft. The ruins you see next to a mosque in picture 1 and the broken structure in picture 2 are the remains of the Multan Sun Temple, one of the most ancient Hindu Temples lost to time and destruction. It is presently situated in Pakistan. Multan was originally called Mulasthana, where the Sun god Lord Surya chose to reside according to the Skanda Purana(pic 3) and later Sri Krishnas son, Samba, built Him this temple by the Chandrabhaga river according to the Bhavishya Purana(pic 4). Much later in Harshavardhanas time, the Chinese pilgrim Hiuen Tsang records the splendour of this temple, housing a gold idol crested with dazzling gemstones (pic 5). This temple was called the Golden Temple of Hind and Sind. However, when the Arabic invader Muhammad bin Qasim attacked after 700 AD, he sacked the prosperous temple and looted 1320 mounds of gold including the idol (pic 6). Later, Ibn Akasim hung cows flesh on the idol to humiliate the Hindus, and they had to surrender 1/3rd of their income to save the temple, from Alberunis account (pic 7). The temple was destroyed in 986 AD, but later worship began again with a wooden idol with ruby eyes by 1130 AD (pics 8&9) from the Moroccan Al-Adrisis records. Tragically, whatever remained of the ancient temple after such loot and destruction was demolished by the Mughal Aurangzeb, and a Jama Masjid built at its site, as written in the Masir-i-alamgiri (pic 10). Today, destroyed ruins remain of this marvel of a bygone era, along with this rich, ancient history of the Multan Sun Temple. Es común a diversas culturas de todo el mundo, pero nos interesa especialmente su representación y significado en el mundo clásico. Del griego DRAKON significa víbora o serpiente, de ahí que con frecuencia le veamos representado como una culebra de tamaño desmesurado, como en el tímpano de Puentedey. En el mundo romano el dragón era considerado un símbolo de sabiduría y poder. El cristianismo, sin embargo, le carga de un nuevo contenido, negativo, de pecado. El dragón, tanto en el apocalipsis como cuando aparece unido a algún santo, siempre situado a sus pies, representa el mal, el demonio, de ahí que, también con frecuencia, aparece representado en una lucha, en la que siempre es vencido por el bien, como representación de Cristo. Dargah Hazrat Makhdoom Jahaniyan Jahangasht,Uch Sharif, Pakistan #KnowOurSufis #Sufinama #Sufism #Tasawwuf #SufiHeritage #CompositeCulture मख़दूम जहानियाँ सय्यद जलाल उद्दीन जहाँगश्त बुख़ारी का अस्ल नाम हुसैन था। पाकिस्तान के उच इलाक़ा में 707 हिज्री मुताबिक़ 1307 ईसवी में शब-ए-बरात की रात में पैदा हुए । ये हज़रत जलालउद्दीन सुर्ख़ पोश बुख़ारी के पोते और सय्यद अहमद कबीर के साहिब-ज़ादे थे। मख़दूम जहानियाँ ने कुछ अ’र्सा दिल्ली में हज़रत शैख़ नसीरुद्दीन चिराग़ दिल्ली की ख़िदमत में भी गुज़ारा और उनकी निगरानी में मनाज़िल-ए-सुलूक तय किए। हज़रत मख़दूम के दिल्ली आने का ग़रज़ बादशाह-ए-वक़्त से मिलने का होता था और इस वसीले से वो हज़रत शैख़ नसीरुद्दीन चिराग़ दिल्ली से मुलाक़ात का शरफ़ भी हासिल कर लेते और उनकी मजालिस की ज़ीनत भी बनते थे। सुल्तान फ़िरोज़ शाह तुग़लक़ को मख़दूम जहानियां से बहुत अ’क़ीदत थी जब ये दिल्ली का रुख़ करते तो सुल्तान फ़िरोज़ शाह उनके हालात-ए-सफ़र का जायज़ा अपने दरबारियों से लेते रहते और जब आप दिल्ली पहुंचने वाले होते तो सुल्तान फ़िरोज़ शाह अपने लश्कर के साथ शहर से बाहर निकल कर उनका इस्तिक़बाल करता और बड़ी इज़्ज़त और अ’क़ीदत के साथ उन्हें शहर में लाता। मख़दूम साहिब सात से दस दिन के वक़्फ़े से सुल्तान से मिलने जाते; रास्ते में ज़रूरत-मंद अपनी अ’र्ज़ीयां उनके पालकी में डाल देते और ये बादशाह से मुलाक़ात के वक़्त सलाम-ओ-दुआ’ के बा’द सबसे पहले तमाम अ’र्ज़ियाँ बादशाह के सामने रख देते और जब तक सारे अ’र्ज़ियों के जाइज़ मुतालबात पूरे ना हो जाते मख़दूम जहानियाँ सुल्तान से मुलाक़ात की कोई ग़रज़ पेश ना करते। शाही ख़ानदान से उनके गहरे मरासिम थे और हर एक छोटे बड़े, उमरा वुज़रा और शहज़ादे उनकी ता’ज़ीम बजा लाते थे। एक रोज़ शहज़ादा महमूद ख़ान मख़दूम जहानियाँ की ख़िदमत में हाज़िर हुआ तो उन्होंने उसे टोपी पहनाई और कुछ तबर्रुक दिया और रुख़्सती के वक़्त फ़रमाया कि सुल्तान को उनका सलाम पहुंचाए। दो रोज़ बा’द शहज़ादा ज़फ़र ख़ान, उनका बेटा, शहज़ादा तुग़लक़ शाह और चंद अराकीन-ए-सल्तनत सुल्तान का पैग़ाम लेकर मख़दूम जहानियाँ की ख़िदमत में हाज़िर हुए और उनसे ये इल्तिजा की कि सुल्तान की ये ख़्वाहिश है कि जनाब शाही महल में तशरीफ़ फ़रमाएँ। मख़दूम जहानियाँ उसी वक़्त उनके साथ चलने को तैयार हो गए। शहज़ादा तुग़लक़ शाह ने उनका हाथ पकड़ कर उनको पालकी में सवार किया और शाही महल में लाए। क़ियाम के दौरान एक दिन सुल्तान फ़िरोज़ शाह का पोता शहज़ादा मुबारक ख़ान मख़दूम जहानियाँ की ख़िदमत में हाज़ - @sufinama on Instagram

A casa do Cais Novo começou a ser construída em 1750, provavelmente sob a orientação do arquiteto José Figueiredo Seixas, por José Pinto da Cunha Pimentel, para sua residência. Os Pinto da Cunha, cuja origem é a Casa da Praça em Provezende, mudaram-se para lá quando vieram para o Porto em 1756, o histórico ano da demarcação Pombalina da Região do Douro. Os vastos armazéns, três andares abobadados, sustentados por grande número de colunas, foram concluídos em 1798 por José Pinto da Cunha Godinho Saavedra. Estando a família ligada à direção da Companhia Geral da Agricultura e Vinhos do Alto Douro, os armazéns da casa do Cais Novo foram expressamente destinados aos vinhos provenientes das suas propriedades do Alto Douro, bem como aos da poderosa Companhia criada pelo Marquês de Pombal. Possuindo um cais próprio, o Cais Novo, estes armazéns foram fundamentais no contexto do enorme desenvolvimento do comércio do Vinho do Porto ao longo dos séculos XVIII e XIX. Durante 50 anos, 1822 a 1872, foi “ocupada” pelo governo, ali funcionando a Afândega do Porto (pela sua localização ficou conhecida como “Alfândega de Massarelos”). Durante as invasões francesas, o general Beresford hospedou-se na casa do Cais Novo que foi também local de encontros com Wellington e outros generais das forças anglo-portuguesas. If you take a look at many illuminated Quran manuscripts, you see arrows that point to the right, top, left, and bottom of the page. What do they indicate? These are guides. They are intended to guide your glance off the page, off the scripture that is on the page, to what is beyond the page. And what is beyond the page? The scripture that is off the page. Beyond the page is the book of nature, written not with ink, but with rivers, mountains, breeze, and trees. That too is a scripture, Gods Cosmic Scripture, what the sages of old referred to as Quran-e Takvini (cosmic or existential Quran). You meditate on those verses, on those trees and rivers, and then your eyes are led back to the page to the scripture on the page. And ultimately you also recognize the signs of God within your own self, and within each and every soul you come across. Thats when you know how God is Real. That is the meaning of the Quran 41:53: We shall show them Our signs in the horizons and inside their own souls, till it is clear to them that God is the Real (Haqq). The intricately decorated Damascus Room (1966.443) dates to the 18th century and would have originally graced the home of a wealthy Syrian family. Rescued from demolition in 1932 by soap manufacturer, philanthropist, and art patron Andrew Jergens, the room and all its contents were shipped to the United States to be incorporated into his Cincinnati home. İkiz ev plan tipinde inşa edilen konak, bodrum ve giriş kat üzerine iki katlı olarak inşa edilmiştir. Etnografik ve Arkeolojik Eser Deposu da bu katta bulunmaktadır. Inserite allinterno del percorso del Museo di Santa Giulia, occupano una superficie di circa mille mq nella quale si possono ammirare due abitazioni contigue chiamate Domus di Dioniso (per via del soggetto del mosaico della sala da pranzo) e Domus delle Fontane (che numerose erano presenti nellabitazione, che vantava il lusso di avere lacqua corrente in casa).
