Happy Tuesday🤍As another week begins, I keep thinking about what life was like before the world changed drastically due to COVID-19. I have felt overwhelmed by the news, stressed and anxious due to the uncertainty surrounding this whole situation and lastly just tired and bored of being in the house. That being said, I have also realized the importance of staying positive despite all that is going on. I put together some things you can do during quarantine✨✨hope it helps🤍 • ♡ Create a daily routine: find what works and stick to it. Having a routine will allow you to make the most of each day! Remember though that is it okay to sleep in or have a self care day, balance is so important! • ♡ Workout: for me personally getting my daily sweat on has helped so much with my energy and mental health. There are so many amazing at home workouts, some of my favs include @califullerfit @whitneyysimmons and @pamela_rf . This is the perfect time to try out a new workout and see what you like! • ♡ Go on a simple walk: I cannot begin to tell you how amazing going on walks have been for me. It is a great way to get fresh air and escape the four walls of your home. • ♡ Video call friends and family: get in contact with the people you love and plan a virtual lunch, dinner or wine night. Until you cultivate the ability to say no to the things that fill your life but not your soul, you’ll never have the space to bring into it the things you desperately want to say yes to.⠀ ⠀ Start saying no.⠀ ⠀ Okay, but how do you know what to say no to? And exactly how do you say no in a way that doesn’t crush people’s spirits, make everyone hate you, or make you feel like you’ve just ruined their lives— or at least the thing they wanted you to help with?⠀ ⠀ Two thoughts. One, there are direct and kind ways to phrase things. While they don’t take the entire sting out, they soften the blow enough for you to feel you’ve done the right thing in the right way. Ask yourself, “How can I be kind and respectful yet also stand strong in what I need? What would that sound like?” Every- one’s words will be different. Two, what if that other person does hate you for it? If it’s someone not central to your life, it’s probably a good thing you learned how they respond to boundaries before they became central. And if it is someone central, then maybe it’s a great time to begin the process of defining better boundaries for both you and that person.⠀ ⠀ Much as it pains me to say no, I have to. And so do you. Because if we don’t, everything suffers. The work we hold most sacred and the relationships we hold most dear end up taking a back seat to the list of obligations we’ve felt bound to say yes to. We have to own the fact that we’re human, there’s only one of us, and sadly, that means most requests for time, energy, and attention that lie outside the things that most effectively fill our Good Life Buckets need to be answered with a kind no.
