Sooooo this just happened. ✈️ Some of you may not know but this month I turn 40!!! So for my 40th birthday present I’m going to get my pilots license. I’ll be able fly the plane that you see in these pictures - Cirrus SR22! My wonderful banker and team over at Iberia Bank introduced me to Mario - the owner of Rex Air. Mario was an incredible gentleman and a wealth of information and we were able to talk shop and how the avionics world works with techs and repair... can we say JETRONICS!?! Plus he’s pretty cool - he owns a boat too so he’s up there on my list now. Воєнна драма «Черкаси» розповідає про 3-тижневий опір однойменного мінного тральщика силам російських «зелених чоловічків» навесні 2014 року. Залучення справжніх військових забезпечило високу воєнну та історичну достовірність фільму. «Черкаси» створювали при підтримці ВМС України та Генерального Штабу ЗСУ. Так для зйомок було надано справжні кораблі флоту та спеціальне військове обладнання, а для фільмування екшн сцен залучалась бойова армійська авіація, військовослужбовці, в тому числі спец. призначенці (морські котики). This is a unique Father’s Day for me. First to my dad, Jon. He stepped into the role as my dad when I was 2 and was kick ass at it. He taught me to play and love sports, to be kind, and empowered me to be independent and strong. He adopted me and made me a Reynolds and I am forever thankful. Love you, dad. Second, I’ve been holding onto this one, because I was mine. I had control and I could keep it safe. This is Rick. We came into each other’s lives this year rather unexpectedly. We didn’t know about each other, but found out he’s my biological dad. A surprise to us both, but it’s been awesome. He has welcomed me with the most open of arms and made me instantly feel like family. He’s teaching me about this side of my DNA and heritage (I now know where I get that 14% Filipino!) But wanted to say thank you to a group of fellas that we met in Oakhurst, Ca last night. Assuming theyre up here to assist with the Creek Fire, they were in McDonalds when my daughter and I went by to get her a happy meal for her chosen birthday dinner. For whatever reason, they had an extra icecream cone & asked if she could have it. She started smiling from ear to ear & I let them know that it was her birthday. We thanked them for helping out with the fires on our mountains & for also making a little girls day extra special. Its been a tough year, and last few weeks especially from being evacuated. When your husband calls you when he finishes work at 2am to say “Happy Anniversary” & tells you he’s coming home even if it’s late in the evening but he wouldn’t miss it. 😭 Nine years ago we said “I do” and “for better or for worse.” I will be one to always tell you marriage is the real deal & it isn’t for the faint at heart- it’s the survival of the fittest. It will literally take you through every single high and low. It’s a test of how committed are you. How much do you trust in HIM. How much do you believe in that vow you took that you’re willing to work through EVERYTHING. ✨ In addition- last five years, he’s worked all nights. He’s worked 2.5 hours away, he’s worked all the non-normal hours. We’ve moved 6 times. We’ve lost 4 babies 🐾, we said goodbye to countless loved ones. We’ve been questioned why we don’t have kids & told we’re jealous of those that have human kids 🤔 (they can check that idea at the door because it’s old, it’s tired and it’s plain not true and it’s so about the person making those accusations period!!). We’ve been through so many surgeries (both of us). We have literally ridden every single wave and I couldn’t be happier that we are on the other side still riding the wave. To all those that think it can’t be done- DM me, I will walk you through. Our first anniversary we spent in the ER- I can’t make this up— I cut my wrist opening a queso jar and had to have a psych evaluation & kept asking the doc how’s #FSU doing?? We can laugh now and we still laugh today that #thisisus We are THE real deal. We aren’t perfect. We have so many issues. But we love hard. We pray hard. We forgive hard. 11 years ago I travelled to New York for the first time, I sat on the stairs in front of Ground Zero just to think and mourn. I was the only one there so the security guard came to see what I was doing, he was really nice and then we talked about 9/11 for a while, we even cried together. For sure, we will never forget. I told the security guard how sad and how horrible it must have been for the firemen then he said: why dont you go and talk to them? They will appreciate your visit... So, as I was walking besides their location next to Ground Zero, I saw they were working on their trucks, I waved and said hello, they waved back and told me to come and chat, that was so nice and they were so friendly! I talked to them for a while as they were on stand by, they showed me pictures and names of their colleagues, some of them had worked on 9/11, it was very emotional and their eyes were full of tears. They told me it still felt like yesterday although that happened years before. I asked them if they were scared now and replied that they were so happy to be alive, it made them appreciate each day and each moment with their loved ones to the highest extent. I am grateful for everyday I spend with my family and friends and with you here ♥️🥰 Stay safe and enjoy life to the fullest! Russell James Cook 13/7/1934 - 16/5/2020 My wonderful Dad passed away peacefully on Saturday night. He was diagnosed a little over four years ago with multiple myeloma. He took it as he did everything in life, with positivity, good humour and a determination for it not to define him. Up until February this year, you wouldn’t know he had any sort of illness. His and Mum’s marriage of 64 years is one of the great love stories. He was very successful in his career as a police officer, rising to the rank of Assistant Commissioner before retiring 26 years ago. Everything he did was for his family. He was an amazing teacher to my siblings and me, showing us how a great man cares for his wife and children, how to work hard and, most importantly how to face life with optimism and positivity. On Friday and Saturday, he said goodbye to Mum, his children and his grandchildren. Then he spent Saturday afternoon phoning some of his many friends. That’s Dad, he always had to make sure everything was squared away. He passed away (or fell off the perch, as he would say) just before 8pm. Mum, Peter, Fiona, Paul and I arrived only minutes afterwards and sat with him for a while. Goodbye you beautiful man. You will live with us always. The world is a better place for you being in it. 💪🏼 @huntington_beach_firefighters ・・・ On Nov. 11, 16-year-old Tim Deits parents found him at home unconscious and in cardiac arrest. Engine 45 and Engine 44 arrived two minutes after 911 was called and provided CPR, defibrillation, airway management, and life saving medications. Paramedics were able to get a faint pulse and blood pressure back in the ambulance on the way to Hoag Hospital. Doctors told Tims family that he would need a heart transplant but 2 weeks later Tim walked out of the hospital with an internal defibrillator and no other serious injuries. Tim and his parents stopped by Lake fire station to say thank you and share his story. . Break Up Puppies. One year ago today a litter of puppies was born on the same day the Yukon River broke up at Calico Bluff. Break Up is a powerful time that marks the beginning of the year. A new litter of sled dogs is equally significant. We kept three of the pups and named them in the theme of Alaskan large game animals. Grizz(grizzly bear), Boo(caribou), and Goat(mountain goat) are now part of our family as strong sled dogs. Today began with a high energy celebration for the year old ‘puppies’. Maybe it was the extra treats, or perhaps the perfect fresh wind on this bright spring day that fueled the three into full out celebration as they raced for the river. Bounding, splashing, and leaping in tireless play, their sheer happiness confirms it is great to be a sled dog at Calico Bluff 💕🐾💕. Last week we lost the true rock of our family; a woman who lived her life for her kids, her grandchildren, and her two great-grandsons. Jaba was always there with us... every game, every beach day, every joke, every single big life moment. When people think of our family, they surely think of her ever present smile, her unwavering support, and her desire to make sure everyone was happy (and perhaps her marathon taco nights at the beach house). Jaba and I had a very special relationship that was so different than anyone else in the family and something that I always held so dear. A lot of the time, she was the only one who really “got me” and my odd sense of humor. This has been the most difficult week of grieving I have ever experienced, and I have cried more tears than I ever knew possible. But I know that Jaba is still right here with us... for every game, every beach day, every joke, and every single big life moment. I love you Jaba, I miss you so much.
