Last year I did this video for my grandmas birthday, getting my immediately family together real quick just to say a couple of words. So so happy to finally be sharing Giving Up on Heaven with you. I wrote this song just under a year ago in one of my darkest valleys and it was months later that I started working on cutting it. I spent a lot of nights that became mornings working behind my house in my makeshift studio, but eventually got frustrated and gave up on it for a while. A couple months ago I decided to give it another shot and here we are. I think sometimes were afraid to voice our fears, our doubts and our desperation and end up living quiet happy lives with so much hidden below. Nakon što je svečano otvorena Ljetna glazbena škola Sinj 2020. u ponedjeljak 06. srpnja s koncertom profesora predavača, sinoć je uslijedio prvi od tri koncerta polaznika. U prekrasnom ambijentu ljetne terase hotela Alkar, sinoć 09. srpnja, nastupilo je 22 polaznika. Podsjetimo se, Ljetna glazbena škola Sinj 2020., održava se u periodu od 06. do 18. srpnja 2020. godine. Projekt je osmišljen za glazbenike svih uzrasta koji žele u prijateljskoj i poticajnoj atmosferi usavršiti postojeće i usvojiti nove umjetničke vještine. Namjenjena je učiteljima, nastavnicima, studentima i učenicima: violine, viole, violončela, flaute, klarineta, klavira, trombona, trube, tube, roga, gitare, saksofona, solo pjevanja i komorne glazbe. Ova ljetna škola nudi mogućnost glazbenog usavršavanja u radu s međunarodno poznatim profesorima. Naime, u radu Ljetne glazbene škole Sinj 2020. sudjeluju priznati profesori nudeći raznovrsnost stručnog pristupa i edukativnih metoda. U prvom tjednu ljetne škole sudjeluju prof. dr. Karolina Šantl Zupan – flauta, prof. Bruno Philipp – klarinet, prof. Boštjan Lipovšek – rog, prof. Gordan Tudor – saksofon, prof. Dušan Kranjc – trombon i prof. Dario Teskera – truba. Been wanting to share some simple setups for some of the shots that I’ve loved on the @letsplayshortfilm I’m working on. This overhead shot is a pretty classic one, but shooting in a small room is tough with traditional frames & fixtures. We used a patterned sheer across what is usually a bare window to knock back the ambience, and we could shoot back that way if we needed to. An @aputuretech 120Dii provided us the extra kick if we needed. What a #luxury !🤣 When we moved in, none of the windows worked properly, most did not close, and no screens. It was a total #nightmare . We had swarms of mosquitos every single day and when those afternoon surprise rain storms rolled through, we were scrambling with spare towels to mop up the rain. New #louvers throughout the entire house has been the biggest luxury! Of course having a secured home is a necessity; we often joke that we’re living large now that we aren’t being eaten alive by mosquitos. What a stressful time that was! It is with extreme grief and sadness that I announce the sudden passing of my best friend, who was more like a sister to me, Zafirah Abdulrahoof. Zafirah was a bright, funny, colorful spark in a gray world and she will be deeply, deeply, deeply missed. Our beloved Zafirah recently passed on August 22, 2020. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, friend and teammate who dedicated her life to always trying to be a better person than she was the day before. Zafirah touched the lives of those around her with her wit, her laughter, her loyalty, her unconditional love & friendship and her will to keep living despite how difficult life could be. She was always thinking of others. Zafirah had a huge heart with a lot of love to give. She loved people and accepted people as they were. Zafirah was intelligent and radiant and a goof ball! SHE WAS HILARIOUS, probably the funniest person Ill ever know. She loved nature, she loved animals and she had several dogs and cats and mice within her lifetime. She LOVED to play soccer, she was an amazinggggggg rugby player and she even threw shot-put. She was a beautiful artist, and an even more brilliant scientist. She loved to write, draw, play ukulele, sing and create poetry but she also loved to research, code and do science experiments. Zafirah was multifaceted, and she felt most at home with people within the LGBTQ+ community. She had dreams of traveling the world often, creating very little waste and living off of the land. We are all devastated, heart broken and forever changed by this tremendous loss. Additionally, we were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service. We want to give Zafirah the memorial she deserves, to honor her beautiful memory and say our last see you laters, as we will never say goodbye. Z is survived by her two brothers, her sister, her mother and me, her best friend. I have created a GoFundMe (link in bio) on behalf of her family in order to cover their funeral expenses. We need to raise $17,000 by Saturday, August 29 in order to be able to afford the funeral service. Alumna Tiffany Brown, #CAU 05 brings southern charm to NYFW. Tiffany Brown Designs hailing out of Georgia is one of quite a few Black designers to seen on the NYFW Spring Summer 2021 schedule. After several outspoken industry heads spoke out about the lack of Black designers at NYFW, it is a relief to see some new faces. Let us continue to push on. Tiffany Brown brought a bit of that classic southern charm to our New York city streets. The collection featured two iconic colors: pink and green or more specifically Salmon Pink and Apple Green considering CEO and designer Tiffany is an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (AKA). Making their NYFW debut, Tiffany Brown designs featured simplistic yet eye-catching designs. Collection standouts are: This pale pink cardigan paired with forest green Bermuda shorts. A cozy yet chic outfit that can definitely be unisex. This tulle skirt that appears to have a jumpsuit underneath. As a newcomer, Tiffany Brown Designs are able to tell their story in their designs. Reynolds High School senior clarinetist Aaron Lipsky took first place in this years concerto competition at the Philadelphia International Music Festival (PIMF). 🎶 Lipsky’s performance of Carl Maria von Weber’s Concerto for Clarinet, Op. 26, earned him an $1,800 scholarship and a spot in next year’s PIMF Winner’s Circle concert with The Philadelphia Orchestra. In April 2019, I experienced a 30-minute call with a “coach” that rocked my world for the worst.
