I’ve been a firefighter for almost 2 months. I haven’t actually fought a structure fire yet. It wasn’t until firefighter training that I really understood the reality of the sacrifice made by 343 firefighters on this day 19 years ago. Today, @croatian___sensation and I put on our gear and our masks and air bottles and began climbing stairs until we were out if air. We walked up and down 56 stories. I had the luxury of not being trapped by a collapsed building. I was able to take my mask off and breath fresh air. I was able to walk away with a smile. I can’t imagine the air bottle running out and the mask sucking to my face, knowing that I was a lost cause, knowing that I can’t take my mask off because there’s no fresh air. Being trapped and completely out of air. Those 343 men and women went into danger. They entered buildings and climbed and climbed and climbed to save as many people as they could before their time and their air was out. I’m so humbled to wear the same title, firefighter. It’s extremely unlikely that I will face anything in Springville, Alabama that is even close to what the 343 faced. Um acidente envolvendo uma moto e um caminhão deixou três pessoas feridas na rodovia Anchieta na altura de Cubatão (SP), na manhã desta sexta-feira (18). O caminhão colidiu com a estrutura de uma ponte e ficou destruído. Segundo apurado pelo G1 junto à Ecovias, concessionária que administra o trecho, o acidente aconteceu por volta das 10h30 na rodovia Anchieta, na altura do km 53. Um caminhão, que estava na pista sentido litoral, perdeu o freio no trecho de serra e bateu de frente com a estrutura de uma ponte, atingindo o motociclista que trafegava na mesma direção. O motociclista saiu da colisão com ferimentos leves, enquanto o motorista do caminhão e um passageiro foram socorridos pelo Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência (Samu) em estado grave e moderado, sendo encaminhados a uma unidade de saúde de Cubatão. Segundo a Ecovias, por volta das 11h30, a faixa da direita ainda estava bloqueada porque os veículos envolvidos no acidente permaneciam no local. Por volta das 12h, o trecho foi liberado. Há congestionamento apenas no planalto, do km 39 ao km 42. O SAI está em Operação Normal (5x5). Para a descida, os motoristas utilizam a pista sul da via Anchieta e pista sul da Imigrantes.
