Launch of the nine Jilin-1 Gaofen-03 satellites took place at 01:23 UTC on Tuesday using the Long March-11H (Y2) rocket. The nine satellites blasted off atop Long March-11 carrier rocket, Chinas sea-launched rocket. The Long March 11, or Chang Zheng 11 as in pinyin, abbreviated LM-11 for export, is a Chinese four stage solid-propellant launch vehicle of the Long March family, which is manufactured by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology. The Jilin-1 Gaofen-03 (Jilin-1 High Resolution-03) satellites are a group of nine satellites for the Jilin-1 EO satellite constellation. With a mass of less than 40 kg, the group includes three video satellites and six push-broom satellites. As NASA plans to return humans to the Moon in 2024 as part of the Artemis programme, the agency has already started preparing astronauts for the challenges that they will face on the lunar surface. The training includes performing tasks underwater in specially built giant pools and using different analog environments to simulate lunar conditions.
