Charring a process to burn the barrel from inside so that a new make spirit can rest and age with the wood, which will then impart flavours to the spirit over time, the longer the ageing the more intense and prominent the flavours of the spirit will be, in this case it was scotch whisky. Iranian artists @icyandsot recently took off on another self-initiated mission, inspired by climate activist Greta Thunbergs work and the worldwide environmental movement she has started. Using the vast Californian desert landscape as a dramatic backdrop for their work and activists impactful speech as an alarming wake-up call, Saman and Sasan Oskouei created a riveting video titled Our House is on Fire. ⠀ ⠀ I want you to panic. I want you to act as if your house was on fire. @gretathunberg ⠀ ⠀ In some way turning Gretas inspiring words into poetic reality, Icy and Sot built a frame of an archetypal home and set it on fire. Allowing for the untouched surrounding nature to be seen between the blazing framework of the house, the artists suggest looking at the wider picture in which the Earth is our only home. The video shows the reversed footage of their installation being swallowed by flames and crumbling to the ground, creating an illusion of burning pieces of wood rising up and forming the familiar structure. 🔥 Έκτακτα αστρονομικά νέα🔥: Η πρώτη πιθανή ανακάλυψη πλανήτη σε άλλον γαλαξία! Πριν από λίγες ημέρες δημοσιεύτηκε μια μελέτη βασισμένη σε παλαιότερα δεδομένα του τηλεσκοπίου ακτίνων Χ Chandra. Σύμφωνα με τους ερευνητές, ο υποψήφιος πλανήτης M51-ULS-1b βρίσκεται στον Γαλαξία της Δίνης (M51), 28 εκατομμύρια έτη φωτός μακριά, και έχει διάμετρο λίγο μικρότερη από τον πλανήτη Κρόνο. Στον γαλαξία αυτόν υπάρχει μια ισχυρή πηγή ακτινοβολίας Χ, η οποία πιθανότατα παράγεται από έναν αστέρα νετρονίων ή μια μαύρη τρύπα που καταβροχθίζει έναν αστέρα. Η ακτινοβολία εκπέμπεται σε στενές δέσμες και, επομένως, εάν παρεμβληθεί ένας πλανήτης μεταξύ της πηγής και της Γης, πραγματοποιείται μια έκλειψη, δηλαδή η ακτινοβολία παύει να φτάνει στα μάτια μας για ένα μικρό χρονικό διάστημα. Αυτό ακριβώς παρατηρήθηκε, με αποτέλεσμα οι ερευνητές να μιλούν για την πρώτη ανακάλυψη πλανήτη σε άλλον γαλαξία. Είναι ίσως νωρίς για εορτασμούς, αλλά οι εκλείψεις ισχυρών πηγών ακτίνων Χ είναι πιθανό να ανοίξουν ένα νέο παράθυρο στην ανακάλυψη εξωπλανητών!
