💛 Finding my WHY 💛 So since I’ve returned to training and being able to enjoy the outdoors again, I’ve been getting pretty frustrated with judging how much exercise is enough and how hard should I challenge & push myself since it’s been such a long time being out of action - And I know everyone says “enjoy the journey” but change is still hard, SO I’ve thought about WHY even a bit of exercise and movement can work wonders beyond “just fitting a workout in” 🌀Running makes me feel STRONG - With the right fuel & prep I am in total control to embrace a challenge + a reminder that whatever life throws at you, it can be faced by just taking one step at a time 🌀Releases endorphins - A moment of headspace can change your outlook on the day and boosts your mood 🌀That “runners high” - Yes, it really is legit and has helped reduce my anxiety and improved my confidence 🌀Creates a community - I’ve met some of my closest friends through sport & this account has connected me to some amazing people who have been so motivating !!! Now here’s the WHYS which should NOT be the reason behind your workout: ❌ To compensate for a meal ❌Because you’re letting a number on the scales define you ❌Because you hate & want to change your body ❌ Because you “overindulged” the day before ❌Because a defined pack of stomach muscle will increase your worth (yeh it sounds so stupid when you think about it like that) - Yes I have exercised for the wrong reasons in the past, but I’ve learned how to be intuitive and found balance which I am so grateful for - And I continue to make both physical and mental progress because I choose the sports and exercise which I enjoy and therefore stick to - So if you’re ever struggling for motivation think: Am I doing an exercise that I genuinely enjoy ? How / is it benefiting me positively ? WHY am I choosing to exercise ? - Focus on yourself, we aren’t all built to have exactly the same routine, likes or dislikes - Enjoy your week !!! Uma roupa bem colorida para tentar compensar os dias difíceis que estamos vivendo. Tenho evitado ao máximo me expor e manter minha #imunidade, por isso nos últimos dias de frio extremo e chuva não fui correr. Confesso que foi um desafio correr aqui em #poa. Nosso melhor espaço fechado, os parques abertos com áreas alagadas, as ruas cheias de carros, mesmo assim fui e valeu a pena. Foram 14 km de conexão comigo mesma. O melhor local para correr, com a menor aglomeração (praticamente vazio) foi o contorno bem de fora do Marinha. A #orla realmente tem apenas 2 trechos de cerca de 1 km cada, dividido por ciclistas, pedestres, corredores e crianças. As ruas estão abertas para os carros e os estacionamentos todos fechados. Adaptação com todos os cuidados do mundo (distanciamento, máscara se necessário, higienização). Aglomeração é perigosa? Sim é. Privação para pessoas em que a corrida é muito mais que um exercício, é tratamento, é vida, na minha opinião de médica e atleta é muito pior! Um dia de cada vez! GROWTH & #transformationtuesday !! - These pics are less than a year apart! My fitness journey has been up and down. From being at a regular weight with unhealthy habits to an unhealthy low weight with a bad relationship with myself and foods, to my current state where I’m feeling my best and keeping my goal on feeling healthy and mentally balanced. - So for this transformation Tuesday I wanted to repost this progress pic from July! Progress comes in different forms! My main goal this year was to work on my glutes and gain some weight after being underweight AF through 2019. I haven’t really talked about it on here cause it was a low point but first photo was end of 2019 and last photo is about 2 months back! I incorporated lots of protein, food and hit at least 2 heavy leg days a week! Quarantine hit but i kept my workouts going and I’m proud of the progress I’ve made. If I can do it you can too!!
