Manly P. Hall (March 18, 1901-August 29, 1990) Dr. Stephan Hoeller recently visited PRS to record a lecture in Halls honor on the importance of cultivating ones own philosophy of life. In his work My Philosophy of Life, Hall wrote A mature philosophy of life originates in a natural thoughtfulness. To live without thinking is to fail in the proper use of the powers and faculties with which we have been endowed. To think without applying our thoughts to the conduct of our affairs is to substitute mere intellectualism for intelligence. It is seldom possible to perfect a personal philosophy without study, through which we become familiar with the deepest and noblest convictions of mankind. We must also call upon daily experience, by which we can convince ourselves of the reality and integrity of certain basic principles ever present and forever true. Beyond both study and experience are the internal faculties of the soul, and these must bestow final certitude upon our convictions. If, therefore, we live simply and wisely, seeking first the improvement of our inner lives, reserving an open heart and mind, we shall be guided and directed according to our needs and understanding. It’s not like I did this and no one saw it, this was on the official Paris Week calendar and this first week of virtual fashion shows. And now Jeremy Scott is deleting all the comments saying they are similar. All he had to do was reach out to collaborate or even now be like wow these are similar let’s work on something. This was such a special moment for the brand to mark Paris Fashion Week with the KidSuper stamp. This was the culmination of everything KidSuper: we had done our first doll/claymation video 5 years prior to show were the brand was going. “My journey with Japanese swordsmanship began long before I started physically training. My life had come to a crossroads. I was searching, furiously, for something. I just didn’t know what it was yet. One particular evening I experienced a moment of profound inspiration. It felt like being plugged directly into the Divine, however clichéd that may sound. In that moment I felt an overwhelming sense of unexplored purpose & longed to dedicate my life to the service of something greater than myself. Looking back, I know that something was listening. A decision led to a continent change, an idea led to an enquiry, a class led to an introduction. The first kata I saw my Sensei perform was like magic. Time slowed, the air grew thick & crackled with intention. I knew. Even when other parts of me fought against the feeling in my gut, I knew. Many years have passed since that day. My life has changed almost beyond recognition. I have grown in ways I could never have imagined. I have struggled, & still struggle with parts of myself I didn’t even know existed before. At times the self-doubt I feel is overwhelming, crippling even. I try to remember Sensei’s advice, not just for these times, but for all times: focus on the target. I don’t always remember or succeed in doing this, but when I do, I am reminded that this is one of the most powerful tools you can have at your disposal. Both in life & in martial practice. The art I practice demands an extraordinary amount of effort - not just physically & mentally, but spiritually as well. I’ve sacrificed many of the things I thought I wanted in life - career, busy social life, children, a healthy bank account & yet my life feels full to bursting point. Despite years of training, I still feel like a beginner with so much to learn. I only hope that I succeed in remaining fit & healthy enough over the coming decades to do this art justice. Con un aire excéntrico y pulcro, Dupuin, representa a una elite intelectual cuya función principal es la opinión despiadada y la búsqueda por quitarle credibilidad a Peñafiel, un escritor destacado y ya consagrado que se encuentra presentando su última novela. En este homenaje al cine policial de antaño hay dos puntos que dan forma y origen al concepto del film: la época en la que transcurre y la decisión de filmarla en blanco y negro.
