I remember driving to the airport for IOE and my check airman calling me and telling me to ‘build my nest’ and he would meet me at the airplane. I had no clue what that meant. I had just finished my check ride and all I knew was how to do steep turns, stalls and V1 cuts. He then told me the hardest part about the 4 day we were about to start was remembering where you parked your car when we got done. Our first flight was CLE to BUF and I still have no clue how we got there. I was still running the after takeoff checklist when he wanted the gear down. Expressjet was my first airline and introduced me to a whole new world. I’ve visited so many cities in the US that I never thought I’d see like Minot, ND, had the best margarita of my life in Chihuahua Mexico where I fell asleep at the table while my Captain and FA kept going, and I’ve frozen my butt off up in Canada in the winter but discovered some of my favorite places like Quebec City and St. Johns, NF. I think we can all agree that it’s the people that make these memories worth while. I made lifelong friends and can’t thank XJT enough for teaching me how to be an airline pilot. Ekiti Cargo Airport to be ready in 18 months — Official July 11, 2020 The Ekiti State Government has said the ongoing construction of the Cargo Airport at Ipogun in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area would completed in 18 months. Bunmi Awotiku, the Special Adviser to Governor Kayode Fayemi on Airport Project, said this when the Ekiti State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Transport visited the site on Friday. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the project started in October 2019. The Chairman of the House Committee, Chief Olugboyega Aribisogan, said the airport was a timeless legacy, which would enhance the rapid transformation and development of the state. Aribisogan, accompanied by other committee members, said they were at the site to examine the level of work done on the project. ISRO to Restart Launching Space Satellites by First-Half of November 2020 The Luxembourg-based Kleos Space, a space-powered Radio Frequency Reconnaissance data-as-a-service (DaaS) company on Friday said its Kleos Scouting Mission satellites are expected to be launched during the first half of November 2020 by Indian rocket PSLV. The Company has been informed (by NSIL via Spaceflight Inc.) that the launch of the four Kleos satellites planned on-board PSLV-C49 mission is being targeted during the 1st half of November 2020, based on the current status of planning of activities. This schedule is subject to change due to operational circumstances beyond NSIL control, Kleos Space said. The rocket launch is done by ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation). We are facilitating commercial launches, G. Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director, NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) told IANS. The NSIL is a commercial space company under the Department of Space (DOS). According to Narayanan, the actual launch date of the rocket Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV C49) will be finalised ISRO. Kleos said it is launching the scouting satellites under a rideshare contract with Spaceflight Inc, with the launch managed by NSIL. The Kleos Scouting Missions four satellites have been mission-ready since the middle of 2019, and were shipped to the launch site (Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh) during February, anticipating the launch during March. Delay to the launch from March has been due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation, Kleos said. Each venue has been given a KnifeSavers bleeding control kit, which contains life-saving trauma and #military-grade equipment ✅ . Mr Nikhil Misra, the major trauma surgeon who developed KnifeSavers, said: “During the session we taught vital skills which can help save a life in the first few minutes after someone is stabbed. Naturally, we hope that these never have to be used, but if an incident happens then we know that immediate action can save lives.” . Peter Bradley arranged the training event after the sad death of his friend, landlord Chris Thornton, who was killed in a knife attack last year. The training is the latest in a series of steps taken by Widnes PubWatch landlords which have seen a drop 📉 in drink-related crime in Widnes. . Peter said: “My friend Chris sadly had his life taken in his own pub due to knife crime. This hit his family, friends and the community hard. Hawaiian Airlines announced it will offer drive-through COVID-19 tests in select US mainland gateways that will allow guests to bypass the state of Hawai‘i quarantine and begin enjoying the islands from the moment they arrive. Hawaiian’s partnership with Worksite Labs will give guests exclusive access to drive-through PCR testing ($90 for results within 36 hours, or $150 for day-of-travel express service) from dedicated labs. The carrier expects to start offering the Droplet Digital PCR shallow nasal swab tests – a COVID-19 screening that meets state of Hawai‘i guidelines – around Oct. 15, when travelers who test negative within 72 hours of departure will be exempt from Hawai‘i’s 14-day quarantine upon arrival. Hawaiian’s initial labs will be operational near Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO) International airports, with more testing locations coming soon at its other US mainland gateways.
