The pains of emotional musculature breaking things bound to the earth from a time before time. The joys of calling bullshit from the top of your lungs until you believe yourself and all of the sudden everyone is older and softer and it’s hard to wrap your head around where all the time went. Here we are, him and me. . My Dad’s partner, my stepmom, has been in the hospital for two weeks and we have all been suspended in some form as she has worked her way toward recovery from a punctured lung. This is not COVID, and they both tested negative before her small accident called out that it was major. It’s been stressful in a stressful time to be alive. To scour your light in solidarity when time doesn’t exist and hold hands from afar. For me, the lacking highway in my eyes and nothingness practice-pause. Our identity floating. Necessary deepest belief. Community. Love. We are all clinging on to more crystalline times. . As of yesterday, she is getting better. (!!!) They took their 15 year wedding anniversary dinner in the hospital and he smuggled in flatware and plans for them to escape to a secret spot (you know I won’t tell Dad) in Shasta after her release. He and I got a photo in the spot where they were married those years before. . I love you Dad, and I will be here. This stretch of road I guess is where I turn to you as an adult and with the gifts I know I have I raise you up too. I always will. . . Comecei como caixa e na sequência logo fui convidada a fazer parte do time comercial. Eu já demonstrava habilidades para vender mesmo na correria de filas longas de clientes para o caixa. Dava um jeito e usava a criatividade! Eu amava ser caixa, atender os clientes e zerar a fila♥️ Entre 2008/2009 eu me tornei Gerente. Aos 23 anos eu já tinha uma carteira de clientes gigantesca e metas altas para cumprir. Deu medo? MUITO. Mas, como tudo na vida me dediquei muito! Já tive assistentes com o dobro da minha idade e precisei de muita desenvoltura para lidar com a equipe. Não foi fácil, errei muito mas aprendi muito tbm. Gerente PF, Gerente PJ, Gerente Uniclass... meu ciclo se encerrou em 2013. Na vida precisamos aprender a encerrar ciclos com a mesma sabedoria que iniciamos. Sinto uma gratidão imensa! Hi my name is Brandi Clark. I had 4 years clean from heroin, cocaine, and Xanax. I let the disease of addiction trick me into thinking I could take one Xanax. Obviously I could not. It lead back to cocaine and what I thought was heroin but ended up being pure fentanyl. I overdosed and had to be hospitalized for 6 days for pneumonia. When I got out of the hospital I got right back on track on my road to recovery. Ive been clean now almost 5 months and I feel stronger now more than ever. I even quit smoking weed which I thought Id never give up. The treatment center Im going to is amazing and Im so thankful for all their support. I never believed that relapse could be a part of recovery but it was in my story. It was the kick in the ass/wake up call I needed to take my recovery seriously. To think that I almost left my 11 year old daughter here to grieve, my boyfriend, my family, to never see their faces again. Getting high isnt worth everything you will lose. Haven’t felt like myself in a very...long...time until just recently. Years. Got lost somewhere in the chaos of life. But there’s always a silver lining, no matter how chaotic the chaos or mad the madness or tragic the tragedy. Sometimes we’re forced to stop and really look at ourselves...the spirit somewhere inside of us. And that can be the ugliest most chaotic tragedy of all. But we have a choice to stay the same, to live forever with our pain. Or change into who we are meant to be. At some point we have to learn to let go of whatever it is that’s holding us back from being our truest selves. Whether it’s the fear of failure or success or rejection or pain. The fear of what other people think, of being disappointed or being a disappointment. The fear of losing someone or something special. What it all comes down to is this...we’re all human. We all live and we all die. We all experience pain and joy. There’s no way around it. All we can do is our best and try to live in peace with one another, even if that means swallowing our pride from time to time and not reacting harshly to someone who’s been harsh to you. I believe there’s a domino effect to absolutely everything. Every choice we make creates the world we live in and the future we won’t live in. Both you AND this world need the best version of you. The forgiving version. The loving version. The sparks that make you YOU. And we all have spirit. So we all have forgiveness, love and spark within. We just have to keep waking up, shaking off the past and pressing forward. Today I challenge you to dig deep and find it in you to forgive that person who’s hurt you the most. Even if you can’t talk to that person, just make an internal decision to forgive them so you can move on without that pain. I challenge you to show love to someone in some way- small or big- stranger or relative. And I challenge you to reignite the spark inside of you. However that looks- a big change, a small change, a hobby, a sport, whatever it is.... Someone I really admire wrote this to me on my birthday and it’s something we should all do: “Let this next year be your best ever.
