Status: unknown . Features: This species is typically darker than O. ornatus with a dark brown/red body and red line segments. However, some places show them as being a light sand color*. Adults average at 6 (15.24 cm). . Distribution: Can be found in the states of Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. Probably possible to find them in surrounding states in desert environments. . In captivity: This species prefers more arid conditions as a desert species. Keep in a less humid environment. Note, desert does not equal 100% sand. Still keep them in a substrate of mostly organic soil. I mix sand in with my other desert millipedes so its about 90% dirt and 10% sand. . .
