I am not just in recovery from alcohol, but also perfectionism. I realized the other day how much I love baking- not baking from scratch, or baking particularly beautiful or delicious treats, but just straight out of the brownie box baking. And what’s funny to me is I had written this enjoyment of mine off for YEARS. I thought if I wasn’t particularly good, or if my baking wasn’t noteworthy, what’s the point of having it for a hobby? 🤦🏼♀️ It’s like I remembered (learned?) that I can LIKE something and not be perfect or even good at it. What a freeing concept. Still simmering on it. All of that is a really long way of getting to my real point, which is that I’ve noticed I’ve experienced anxiety about posting on here recently and I think it has to do with my perfectionism. I’m giving myself permission to double post, make my grid not super well coordinated, spill my words out, and be real, because this helps me.
