today is my birthday! if you can guess how old i am (or caught it in my story lol) you get... an internet high five! there’s always this weird perception of birthday check lists... what to accomplish by a certain age. my last year especially brought me a lot of good & a lot of growth (fueled mostly by mamahood), personally and professionally. if you’ve followed me for a long time i’m sure you’ve noticed my work change over the years. the thing that makes me happiest today, is that this last shoot i did feels so much like me & that’s a feeling I’ve chased hard my whole life... and only recently achieved a handful of times. art is weird huh!! but i feel like all my practice & my introspection has allowed me to understand myself more than ever... and to much more accurately capture the things i feel & see inside. happy birthday to me, indeed! . also this shoot is my summer dedication to coronavirus. 🤪 i’ve returned to work, slowly & carefully, and we have a few ppl added to our circle socially. it kind of feels like this, seeing friends and family now. for a minute there i think i forgot how to even talk to ppl at all! selena is the last model i worked w, just shortly before we began our self-quarantine in our house after coming down w symptoms. i came to a plan w selena... she’s going to be the only model i work w for all shoots at least this summer, so hope y’all love her as much as i do. check my story for more from this adventure & let me know which shots are your fave! . selena did her own hair and makeup. styling & concept by me! - @karrahkobus on Instagram

EXCITING NEWS // For the longest time I struggled with sticking to a routine, tried countless restricting diets, formed many toxic habits, and went about bettering myself in all the wrong ways. In February, I started this account as a way to hold myself accountable to reach my goals and become a healthier and happier person. I love September, it’s a great month that often invites change, this could be in footwear choices or perhaps professional choices. I launched the sustainable casual wear label @ninety_percent two and a half years ago with the support and expertise of an amazing team. The brand has surpassed my expectations, it was clearly the right brand, with the right message, at the right time. 12 collections later with menswear and sleepwear in the pipeline, it was picked up across an A-list selection of retailers from Net-a-Porter, Lane Crawford, Browns, Nordstrom, Mr Porter and Selfridges to name a few and we can class Michelle Obama as a fan. Part of the pleasure of working closely with brands as a consultant is I get a real kick out of launching something, seeing it go through the awkward teenage years, then grow up into a fine young adult full of potential. So with this in mind I’ve decided to move on to a new project where I can get another fix of shaping something new. Like a benevolent uncle, I look forward to seeing where Ninety Percent goes, hoping that it won’t go off the rails, get a lip piercing and an XR3i. Recess... first, Lauryn I want you to go to the bushes and put the board behind your back. Okay I’ll try Hannah 😂 Few days ago I had one of the most joyful moments since being home. I had a quick thirty minutes in the ocean midday... no one on the sand, handful of us in the water, sun beaming, like ten dolphins hanging, water clear for LA and teeny bopper waves. I felt like a kid and the energy was shining. While sitting on the board and looking around I was thinking “wow this is heaven, bliss and serenity, and so thankful” I traveled and lived around the world looking for something to be filled but in reality my treasures were back home to the things that gave me life as a young woman. Not only the universe has brought me home, but my guardian angels my mom and dad are guiding me and telling me I’m home now and it’s time to let go.
