Humble beginnings, this is Ka sohs big sister Swee Kee restaurant thats currently located on 96 Amoy street. This shop house used to be along Chin Chew street, the government took the land back to build the currently, Far East square. Back in the day, Swee Kee used to operate from 5:30pm to 5am. Many would come after a night of drinking for a nourishing bowl of fish soup. And many Hong Kong stars such as Andy Lau, Jackie Cheung would come after their concerts for a hearty meal. A dog lost for more than three months had a happy reunion with her family Tuesday after two friends spotted the emaciated canine trapped in a cave off Juan de Fuca Strait. . Zach Regan and Matt Johnson were coming back from a fishing and surfing trip in Regan’s boat on Saturday when Regan spotted “a glimmer of legs” in a cave at Magdalena Point near the Juan de Fuca trail. . When they realized it was a dog, they scoured the shoreline for anyone who could have been the owner but saw no one. . A reef blocked Regan from landing the boat on shore, so Johnson slipped into his wetsuit and paddled to the cave on his surfboard. Hello Festival Family Normally by this time of year we would have been up to our third artist announcement. It pains me to say instead, that due to the rapidly changing environment that we now find ourselves in, and in consideration of current and ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, especially as they apply to Festivals, we have made the difficult decision to cancel CMF2020. The festival crew and I were holding on for as long as we could to see how we could best work through the road map of restrictions, but like many other global and local events, we have had to put our plans on pause for this year. Not the news you were hoping for but the safety of our festival family (YOU!) is our highest priority. While there is still no clear path to what events might look like in the future, we know that events contribute to our sense of place and our sense of community spirit, and that we will be back in some new shape or form in the future. If you have accommodation booked for the last long weekend of the year in Queensland, we encourage you to stand by that and support our accommodation providers who have experienced the toughest few months without visitors. We can certainly help you with suggestions for other things to do while you are here, just ask us. Likewise our local artists have been hit hard losing up to 6 months worth of gigs with only a fraction of those returning as restrictions ease in an uncertain industry landscape. If you are in a position to support them by purchasing their music, merchandise or pre purchasing tickets for their future gigs please do so. We hope that you continue to stay safe, and support us going forward once we can map out the road ahead for a revitalised sun, surf and soul experience at Kings Beach in 2021. Watch the transformation of this suburban backyard from a space that used to be a kids playground into an urban farm. This family of 4 decided to use the lockdown time to build a stylish self watering garden filled with herbs, veggies and citrus trees to improve the landscape and grow more fresh food at home. Six Foodcubes connected in a row with two at the front make an accessible farm. Dressed in @formboss.steel.edging corten panels, the Foodcubes look amazing. Two @formboss.steel.edging tree rings provide an extra 200mm height for citrus trees ( lemon eureka and Japanese seedless mandarin ) to grow. NOSSA BATALHA CHEGOU AO FIM... Infelizmente perdemos. Dolly lutou pela vida por mais de 20 dias com bravura, mas chegamos quando a situação já estava grave demais, e agora ela descansou. Em decorrência de um atropelamento, Dolly sofreu uma séria lesão na coluna, o que provavelmente tiraria sua capacidade de andar, mesmo que conseguissemos realizar a cirurgia. Mas além da lesão na coluna, Dolly teve múltiplas faturas no maxilar, que sem o tratamento adequado, causou uma infecção generalizada. O quadro clínico, aliado com a idade que ela já tinha, e o tempo em que ficou sem atendimento, deixaram toda a situação ainda mais delicada. A equipe da Clinivet fez um trabalho incrivel, proporcionado a ela conforto, cuidado e alívo das dores (que eram imensas) enquanto tentavam controlar a infecção, pra que ela pudesse ser submetida a primeira cirurgia. Mas nossa guerreirinha cansou de sofrer...e hoje está fora do alcance da maldade humana.... Ah, a maldade humana..... que causa dor e destruição.... Queremos aproveitar esse post e falar com ser des”humano” que a atropelou e simplemente foi embora....a deixando para trás.... não sabemos se você é religioso ou ateu, mas de qualquer forma, DEUS, ou o UNIVERSO vai se encarregar de fazer justiça. Nossos sentimentos a familia, que fez o que pode no inicio, mas por falta de recursos não conseguiu realizar a cirurgia. Nossos agradecimentos a todos que nos ajudaram, seja com doação, compartilhamento, com palavras de carinho e força ou apenas com seus pensamentos positivos. E ainda querermos deixar um APELO: Cuidem de seus animais, os mantenham seguros dentro de suas residências, CASTREM para reduzir a incidência de doenças e fugas..... Denunciem sempre que verificarem uma situação de atropelamento, maus tratos, confinamento. SOMOS A VOZ DE QUEM NÃO PODE PEDIR SOCORRO!! E JUNTOS SOMOS MAIS FORTES! What a difference average rainfall makes. After three years of drought I had forgotten how productive and lush our garden can look. As we are only on rain water (not town water) gardening has been pretty hard going but now with what looks like an average rainfall year I am delighted how the garden is going. Based on the poems, the creators were asked to make films of around a minute long by using any type of film medium they preferred, including performances, short films, animation and music videos. The poems depict the moment when Azrail is on earth to take the life of those who are dying. They are written from Azrail’s perspective while helping people to accept their death. On the 26th Aug 2020, 4 koalas that were rescued by volunteers during the devastating fires of Jan 2020 had their final vet checks and were released after an extended stay in care. This is Jess, and when she was found she was in such poor condition there were doubts around her ultimate survival. She also had a joey with her (Amelia). She not only survived but she had a surprise for vets, a tiny Joey in her pouch, probably conceived days before the fires hit. Thor tiene 2 años aprox. Fue adoptado por Carolin hace 1 año y 8 meses. Es protector (nos ladró al acercarnos a su mamá). Es muy pegado, porque tiene síndrome de abandono. Ya lo abandonaron una vez, entonces, sufre mucho el desapego cuando yo me voy, dice su mamá. Es un perrito muy inteligente: abre puertas, ventanas, closets, muebles de cocina, el refrigerador. Es muy activo: Es saltarín, se sube a la mesa del comedor, de la lavadora..no tiene una agilidad así pero...porque es flacucho. Thor es malo para comer. Spot is around 90lbs right now but still needs to lose quite a bit more so keeping him on a strict diet will be crucial for his health and mobility. Spot is looking for a calm home with no stairs and a yard where he can sunbathe and roll in the grass! He mostly sleeps but would enjoy having an equally chill dog friend. If interested, please DM us for details. Moe is a bright, playful and affectionate boy who was surrendered to West LA Animal Shelter in April 2019 – yes, over 17 long months ago! This long stay has not been easy for him. He’s an energetic and curious, so being cooped up in a kennel for over a year has left him frustrated and agitated. As a result, he is now on the red list, and is in danger of being euthanized within 48 hours. Outside of his kennel, Moe’s fun personality and attentiveness endeared himself to many of the volunteers and handlers. Fast-moving objects such as cars, skateboards and runners get him excited. So not surprising, he can be challenging on walks. And following his natural instincts to herd things along, Moe has been known to chase or even trying to nip at the object he is trying to move. This is sadly the main reason why he’s still in the shelter. He’s definitely not the dog for everyone; but he is wonderful with lots of potential for the right home. Strong, knowledgeable handlers were very successful in redirecting Moe’s attention away from distracting objects and enjoying nice walks before the shutdown. For this reason, Moe will thrive with an experienced owner to provide the structure that he craves. Although Moe has been on a few pack walks with other dogs, he can get reactive and needs more work. He should be the only dog in the house. And in return, he’ll be a very devoted companion. Moe’s medical notes are as follows: muscle atrophy pelvis and pelvic limbs, stiff hind gait, heavy dental plaque. Flashback to 2016 when we could all get together and have fun. . @Losthighway is one of the events I co-produced with @johnlreese I am extremely proud of from my career. . Bringing over 20k+ people together to have fun with motorcycles, music and camping is/was a powerful experience. . I’m thankful to have worked with so many amazing people to make it happen. . I look forward to the future when we can forget about COVID and do it all again.. . I really miss having large events in my life. . It’s actually depressing. . I love the memories but I am longing for having the energy from a show buzzing through my body and mind, putting miles down on my Ruckus, bringing people together to escape and be entertained. . Let’s all hope it’s never as hot as it was when this photo was taken again on a show day! The term “Lost Highway Hot” will always have a meaning to those who were there in 2016. . I miss you guys. . I’m thinking of everyone who works behind the scenes as part of the team making big shows and events happen. It is with a very heavy heart that Copper, Ariat and I inform you that Rusty passed away yesterday. He was only 9 months old and his life was cut very short. As a lot of you know, Rusty was a very sick puppy ever since he was 6 weeks old. He was such a little fighter and stayed so positive through it all. Rusty was such a happy, loving and sweet dog.
