Swatch of “No Limits” by @jolie_vegan, which is a beautiful deep mulberry polish that is perfect for fall (gifted) ❤️ The formula is super creamy, applies smoothly, and self levels. It’s almost a one coater, but I applied two just in case. The polish is so glossy on its own that I didn’t even use a top coat! 🤩 The polish’s brush is okay — it fans out so it’s not super precise and it doesn’t give me that much control around the cuticles. Overall, I really like the polish but would love a more precise brush 😊 The brand is having a 30% off sale this weekend if you wanted to check them out! I am absolutely stoked at the response so far - thank you to all who have jumped on board! ⠀ ⠀ I have created a functional beverage, a drink that tastes great but has a distinct function other than quenching your thirst. ⠀ ⠀ It is called Adapt Relax and as the name suggests the drink is designed to help ease away the stress and increase a feeling of relaxation. Sitting here reflecting on the last six months and I honestly can’t believe I’m here. I look at this picture and it makes me smile from ear to ear. Over the last 16 years I worked my ass off working in some of the best salons in the country, I always remained humble in my career but there was always a lot of self doubt. Employers would always tell me that I needed to believe in myself and believe I was a good hairstylist unfortunately I never did and looking back I think it was just a reflection of my childhood. Confidence was never my strong point and I still struggle with it. I’m learning constantly and I am getting much better at been kinder to myself. Hairdressers always ask me for advice, about there career and I always say work hard show your love and passion for your job try not to compare yourself to anyone, ask questions don’t be afraid to learn from somebody else it’s not a weakness it’s a strength. Nothing will ever be handed to you on a plate don’t be that hairdresser sitting back waiting , go get it fight for it work with hairdressers assist them watch on the floor when your not busy assist assist assist hard work pays off. Having my own salon was genuinely not on my radar it wasn’t the goal I worked towards if I’m been honest, but it must have been the path I was supposed to take in life, because the last six months has been an absolute whirlwind and amazing and I’m just so proud and everyday is a joy to come to work. I listen to myself talking to clients and now it’s my turn to give back I can’t wait to have talented hairdressers on board and give them everything I probably dreamed of as a stylist but was to afraid to ask for. Inside of Toxic Christianity we’ve been taught really harmful things about love: we’ve been told God loves us so he killed his son, which has also taught us that love is willingness to sacrifice what we love most. We’ve been told we show our love by our compliance to rules, we’ve been told love is our willingness to die to ourselves, which is often taught as a denial of the self and our personal desires. We’ve been told God’s wrath is love, and that leads to seeing love as punitive and abusive. . There are so many things that we call love that just aren’t. I define love as deep affection and care for another, which means nobody really can know if you love someone or not or not, only you know that, only you know the hidden motivations beneath your actions and behavior, only you know if you are motivated by deep affection and care. Because we’ve been told so many toxic things about love sometimes it’s hard to discern these things sometimes, so it’s helpful to know what love is not: . Love is not possessive – We don’t own anybody whether we love them or not. Desiring the well being of the other, even if it means that is away from us, is love, that’s truly caring. Nobody belongs to us, people belong to themselves and to the communities we cultivate together, dangling belonging to a person is possessiveness, it is not love. Love is free will. Love is not codependency – Codependency is working for someone else harder than we are willing to work for ourselves, it’s fixing problems we weren’t invited to fix, it’s thinking we have to do things ourselves always, thinking we are needed always. The motivation behind co-dependency is not love, it’s more often than not fear rooted in insecurities, and it’s never about the other, but always selfish in nature. Love is interdependency and collaboration. Love is not obedience and submission – Asking people to obey and submit because they love you or to demonstrate your love to them is manipulation and abuse. Love is rooted in freedom and trust, it doesn’t hinge on subjugation. Love is autonomy. Love is not insecure – Controlling another and their choices is not love, that’s insecurity. . Today we bottled about 1.000 bottles of our new bubbling Ancestral(PetNat), ONE OFF #2. It’s a limited edition and a lot of manual operations involved. After a couple of hours work we all found our rolls and the team finalized the bottling as a well oiled machinery. 💪😊 . . We started our wine adventure a little bit more than three years ago. We bought a small piece of land in DO Montsant, Spain. We bought some more land and the project grow. Now we have launched six different wines and we still keep on developing. Happy Thursday, University of Washington Tacoma! Heres another #UWTThenandNow featuring the Science Building, the slightly obvious home to all things SCIENCE at UWT. Find out more about the history of the building which houses most of the classrooms and laboratories dedicated to teaching our huskies all the intricacies and complexities of the world. Science Building - Built 2001 In the late 1880s several residences, including a lodging house, were built on this site, but were torn down some time afterward. In 1949 a two-story reinforced concrete building erected here housed a motor parts store and an oil filter service company. It was demolished before construction of the Science Building. The first of two new-construction projects on the UW Tacoma campus, the Science Building was designed by Moore Ruble Yudell of Santa Monica, California, and LMN Architects of Seattle to blend in with the nearby historic brick buildings. A skybridge links the Science and Keystone buildings above Hood Street, where the original railroad terminus that linked Tacoma to the transcontinental railroad once brought trains through what is now the campus.
