da série: livro que não me agradou de forma alguma ⚠️ assim que lançou “mil beijos de garoto”, fiquei super empolgada para ler, pois era um livro super aclamado.. fui correndo pra livraria comprar ele, mas me dei alguns dias para poder ler ele, pois não queria ler com expectativas altas demais 🤣 e assim que comecei a ler, já fui achando estranho aquela história de uma criança de apenas 8 anos ganhar um pote com mil corações de papel de presente da avó, onde ela iria, em cada papel, escrever sobre o beijo “quase fizesse seu coração explodir”. Foquem na informação: uma criança de 8 anos.. já achei isso o cúmulo. mas, prosseguindo com a leitura, fui notando outras coisas que não me agradaram. A história é daquelas onde o casal se conhecem desde sempre, e o destino os separam um dia.. e, em meio a essa distância, depois que o menino voltou, ele voltou um porre de chatice, só fazia a menina ficar chorando, tratando ela super mal, já odiei ele desde então. e aí, o livro foi se tornando somente isso, o menino tratando a menina mal, e ela sofrendo por ele. abandonei um pouco mais da metade, então me acho no direito de falar que o livro não me agradou, pois li mais da metade. entendo o lado de quem gosta desse livro, e até consigo ver os motivos. Studies from Harvard, Yale and Microsoft have used data and recorded that out of 240,000 potential duplicates that Crosscheck identified in Iowa, only S I X were were actually accurate. I went cold turkey. I deleted my IG app over the weekend (inspired by @she_plusfive and @maryscupofteaa ) and boy did it feel good! It was funny catching myself going to “just check IG real quick” It made me realize how involuntary the act of being on social media has become for me. I’m working on being mindful of how I’m showing up here and participating here. Yes, influencers make their livelihood on here BUT just like with any job taking time off is necessary. It’s honestly kind of ironic because you are told to post everyday, multiple times a day to be “relevant.” Yet, it can easily be so consuming and stressful trying to keep up with trends, engaging our IG friends and comparing ourselves to others on here. Being present and in this virtual world is great. I’ve met AHHHMAZING women and gotten a lot of inspiration. I’ve also learned how precious my time is outside of here. So I’m challenging myself to disconnect more and when I’m on here to be intentionally on here (creating boundaries ya know?!) and it’s honestly been making me happier. I’ve never in my life thought of a day where I would say I have worked for my partner. Is it my only work? No. But damn its my favourite job to work. I’ve filmed for her. I’ve been her soundboard for all of her beautiful ideas. I’ve been in videos with her nervous to say my name. I’ve been her sous chef, while she tested some of the most beautiful recipes. I’ve tasted countless incredible tasting dishes. I’ve held flowers , cameras & fruits with vibrating arms. We’ve done quarantine zoom shoots. I’ve steamed clothing with the biggest smile on my face. I’m sure there’s much more to come. Even more than has gone. This shoot in particular I am holding a well deserved crown of bodega bananas for Soph. She is wearing a matching @tilitnyc uniform that she co-DESIGNED. Everything is specific from the cuts all the way to the wash. I personally will be ordering every single colour and will be mix matching all fall. To be honest it might be the only thing I wear for the rest of the year. My favourite thing about the suits? I can mix and match. I can work in them. I can play in them. I can even go to dinner in them. I love that type of versatility in my clothing. I am proud of you, proud to have worked for you & with you, as well as be your partner @sophia_roe . You are a champion and without you I wouldn’t be standing so tall. Alguns profissionais se dispõem a fazer pós graduação, que em sua maioria, é paga e com custos altíssimos. Investimos em livros, cursos e congressos. Esta indústria pode ser emocionalmente desgastante, podemos ter um dia em que vemos muitos cachorros e gatinhos saudáveis e felizes, e depois ter consultas em que temos de tomar decisões difíceis ou ter conversas difíceis. Realizamos plantões, temos uma extensa carga horária de trabalho, trabalhamos de casa, estamos sempre estudando e buscando atualidades para o diagnóstico e tratamento do seu animalzinho. Não ficamos satisfeitos com o básico, queremos ir além. A sobrecarga para administrar uma clínica veterinária é extremamente alta, com o proprietário da clínica sendo obrigado a comprar equipamentos caros, atualizar o prédio, pagar o aluguel/contas/equipe, etc. Para completar tudo isso, as pessoas nesta indústria cometem suicídio em um taxa 3,5 vezes mais do que a população em geral. Estamos expostos diariamente à radiação, compostos químicos, doenças infectocontagiosas, ataques de pacientes e nos dias atuais, ao coronavírus, uma vez que nossa profissão não parou durante a quarentena. O que todo veterinário quer que você saiba como dono de um animal de estimação é que nos preocupamos com seu animal tanto quanto você, e estamos aqui para ajudá-lo a mantê-lo feliz e saudável pelo resto de suas vidas. The word “desert” implies these communities have surrendered to living unhealthy. That is simply NOT TRUE. These communities are as resilient, and as elastic as any other community, if not more so. You won’t find fancy supplement stores, powders, or boutique infrared saunas—but you will find community gardens, auntie’s and uncles’ growing tomatoes out of old plastic water jugs, community cookouts dishing out enough food to make sure the elders have leftovers, and plenty of callused hands. — —- To those who tout rhetoric such as, “if it’s not certified organic, it’s poisoning you.” “if you don’t get a lymphatic drainage massage weekly, you’re a walking septic tank.” ...the list goes on. A reminder that even being able to take the train to the farmers market is a PRIVILEGE. Being able to live a plant-based lifestyle is a PRIVILEGE. Having a choice in what you eat, IS A PRIVILEGE. — — Food insecure communities don’t need demonizing or criticism..BUT THEY DESERVE RECOGNITION. If you’re in the wellness arena, it isn’t your job to scare, judge, or criticize. It’s your job to LOVE, SUPPORT, EDUCATE, AND ASSIST in establishing protocols for ALL PEOPLE..not just folks who can afford buying organic spinach sold in plastic. — — Access to wellness is just as much a racial justice issue as it is an economic issue, and the protocols wellness educators teach should reflect that, and then some.
