Happy 28th birthday to me 🥳🎊🎁🎉. 27 was a year of dealing with mourning, pain & depression but it was also a year of moving to a new state with the love of my life, traveling to new places, meeting new people, gaining more family members. I questioned the meaning of life & why we are put on this earth more than I ever have this year. I questioned why are we here just to have to eventually leave. And while asking those questions I also answered them without realizing. Life no matter how messed up it can get is one of the greatest gifts we will have. We are meant to love and be love, build ourselves up the best we can, make connections, feel pain, be sad & learn from every single thing we go through good and bad. I learned the definition of strength and I can cry and be strong at the same damn time. I started loving on the parts of me that I used to be ashamed of admitting to myself or showing to other people. I started going after goals I’ve wanted to do for years, and understanding I am a QUEEN, I am deserving of good things, people and experiences in my life. Today I feel so overwhelmed with emotions, I feel full of love & power. Thank you everyone for the love, post, calls and text. And thank you Mom, I feel you here with me. He went on to study weather and the atmosphere, and graduated with a BS in meteorology from Penn State University. Chadwick Boseman continues to prove how generous he was in life, thanks to Sienna Miller sharing a personal story about how Boseman helped her increase her pay during the filming of 21 Bridges. As reported by NME, Miller told Empire that Boseman recruited her to 21 Bridges, which he was also starring in. He was a fan of my work, which was thrilling, because it was reciprocated from me to him, tenfold, she said. So he approached me to do it, he offered me this film, and it was at a time when I really didnt want to work anymore. Id been working non-stop and I was exhausted, but then I wanted to work with him. Miller related a story that she said its a testament to who he was. This was a pretty big-budget film, and I know that everybody understands about the pay disparity in Hollywood, but I asked for a number that the studio wouldnt get to, she said. And because I was hesitant to go back to work and my daughter was starting school and it was an inconvenient time, I said, Ill do it if Im compensated in the right way. Chadwick ended up donating some of his salary to get me to the number that I had asked for, she continued. He said that that was what I deserved to be paid. I was about the most astounding thing that Ive experienced. That kind of thing just doesnt happen. He said, Youre getting paid what you deserve, and what youre worth. Its just unfathomable to imagine another man in that town behaving that graciously or respectfully, she said. WOW 2020... what a year. Despite the hell we are all enduring in the middle of a pandemic with an idiot as a leader, I made a promise to myself to use this time to grow SPIRITUALLY, but also MENTALLY. I knew I wanted to leave this period of time a better person, and I think I am doing that😊🥰 —— Whewwww self love.. oh the journey I have had with it. It is ever evolving, but I can say that it is a DAILY choice. You have to wake up everyday and choose to love and accept yourself despite the faults we all have due to our humanity. To be unapologetic in your self love is another thing I’ve began to master through CHOICE. You have to choose yourself over all, and when you do that in every situation, that is how you can never be bothered by another person. It’s crazy to me when I think back because people used to think I was the most confident, unapologetic person , but little did they know I was going through it !! I thank @gymshark @gymsharkwomen because when you look good, it HELPS you to feel good. It definitely won’t heal everything that’s going on inside, but it can remind you that YOURE STILL A BAD BIT*H! More importantly, I found @gymsharkwomen during a time in my life when I was just starting to come into real self confidence and love. We are facing an eviction crisis of unimaginable proportions. Before the pandemic struck, millions were already struggling to pay rent. Now, 28 million renters across the country are at risk of eviction-- that’s almost 3 Foreclosure Crises at once. And just like last time, Black and Brown communities will be the hardest hit. At the same time, we are facing a long overdue racial justice uprising and calls to defund and abolish the police nationwide. We know from the foreclosure crisis and the renter’s crisis that police are the ones who enforce evictions. Pinch me because I think I am dreaming. This picture was taken June 2019 attending the AMAZING Womens E3 Summit presented by the National Museum of African American History and Culture and now I am pleased to share that the I have gone from an attendee to producers with the stellar Bond events team. What I am saying? Its a powerful collab of women for women but it is much more than that.  In my belief system it is a testament to the power of remaining patient especially in the wake of COVID when work is uncertain when no money is coming in (who can relate?) and trusting that Gods plan is waaaay bigger than whatever you could imagine. @marlonwayans and I met on the set of the “Wayans Brothers” in the fall of 1995. In these 25 years since we have worked together several more times and it’s been great. Maintaining a wellness routine is a STRUGGLE for me. 𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲... I was reminded by my counselor..(𝘗.𝘚. 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘈𝘔𝘈𝘡𝘐𝘕𝘎 🔥) to 𝘛𝘈𝘒𝘌 𝘈 𝘋𝘌𝘌𝘗 𝘉𝘙𝘌𝘈𝘛𝘏 and remember, I have 𝐍𝐎 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐋. I am 𝐍𝐎𝐓 in 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐋. I 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐋 what is to come or 𝐇𝐎𝗪 it comes about. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐈𝐒 and 𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐍. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ There are 𝐒𝐎 many life changes occurring 𝐀𝐋𝐋 at the same time right now... and me and my little brain 𝐀𝐋𝗪𝐀𝐘𝐒 tries to figure out 𝐇𝐎𝗪 it will all PLAY OUT. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I legitimately try to “𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐳𝐞” God. Like I try to “predict” 𝐇𝐎𝗪/𝗪𝐇𝐄𝐍 things will fall into place and 𝗪𝐇𝐘 they will fall into 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 certain place. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I try to always stay 𝐀𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃 of the curve because things come at 𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 of a “surprise”. ⁣I hate surprises when it comes to 𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄 circumstances...(𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘭𝘴𝘦, 𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘬 𝘺𝘦𝘴- 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘢 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭, 𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘚𝘗𝘌𝘊𝘐𝘈𝘓! 🤪😂🤷🏾‍♀️) ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ But for some reason, 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 kind of surprise... 🙅🏾‍♀️... Doesn’t sit well. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Why? Because in my mind- it translates that:⁣⁣ •𝘐 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺. ⁣⁣ •𝘐 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵. ⁣⁣ •𝘐 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘥. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Which couldn’t be further from the truth. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Life surprises 𝐃𝐎𝐄𝐒𝐍’𝐓 mean you lack responsibility or that you’ve done 𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝗪𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆! ⁣⁣ Don’t let the enemy lie to you! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Surprises just means 𝐆𝐎𝐃 𝐈𝐒 𝐆𝐎𝐃. ⁣⁣ He has a 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍 and He cares enough to 𝐒𝐄𝐄 𝐈𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇 and 𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐄 a plan that wasn’t the 𝘉𝘌𝘚𝘛 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘠𝘖𝘜! I knew I was gay at a young age but I also survived sexual trauma at a young age. It is impossible to separate the two facts. My trauma response was self-loathing. I didn’t date women in my 20’s because I hated myself so much & I love women. I didn’t think the dynamic, incredible women I was attracted to would want to be with someone like me, who I believed to be so worthless, having nothing to offer them. So I dated men because a heteronormative world made that easier than facing my feelings about myself. I was intoxicated most of the time & disassociated mentally during intimate moments with them. My journey with sobriety, self-love & letting go of my plans for suicide has allowed me the space to start to shift this narrative. Coming out as a lesbian a few months ago was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. In my mind it was me saying “I may not be good enough to want what I want but I can’t let that stop me anymore.” It’s a daily battle to quiet the voices in my head that say I’m 🗑 but I’m trying. She would stand outside and try to take off – superheroine style. She was young enough that she had no boundaries on the possibilities of what she could or could not do (or a clear understanding of human physical limitations. Haha!). Her parents never told her she couldnt fly and encouraged her to find creative ways to pursue her love of the sky. It is only fitting that she works at the Boeing Company. Sydney is flying, just a little bit differently than she imagined. There wasn’t a particular person or a particular event that inspired her, she has always been fascinated with the sky. What do you do?: Rising Technology Star Award Winner, Sydney Hamilton, has been featured on @CBS @CBSUnstoppable, in @MarieClaire Magazine, on @NPR’s @WowInTheWorld, and across The @Boeing Company for her innovative contributions to the aerospace industry. Sydney is a mechanical design engineer at @BoeingSpace Satellite Factory. So, in a way, she is still flying just a little bit differently than she originally imagined! Sydney leads a cross-functional team in the development of Satellite Reflectors. Reflectors are critical composite mechanisms on satellites that redirect radio frequencies (like your GPS!) to desired areas. Throughout Sydney’s career, she has had the opportunity to design 3D-printed satellite parts, deliver structural repairs to Boeing’s fleet, as well as analyze for the 777X Folding Wing-Tip – the first commercial airplane with mechanical folding wings! Outside of work: She is on the board of directors of non-profit @DramaticResults and an @AAAS @IfThenSheCan Ambassador to inspire youth to pursue STEM fields. IF/THEN’s mission is to inspire young girls, especially of color, to be exposed to all of the amazing opportunities in STEM. If she can see it, then she can be it. #RepresentationMatters.
