On September 30th, 1989, ICEHOUSE released the single “Touch The Fire”. The song was one of two new songs to appear on the greatest hits album, Great Southern Land. The other new song was “Jimmy Dean”. The single climbed up to Number 13 on the Australian Singles chart. The video for “Touch The Fire” brought ICEHOUSE one of its very few moments of controversy when the clip was banned by MTV in the United States due to its religious imagery. The recording of “Touch The Fire” reunited the team that worked on ICEHOUSE’s Man of Colours album. David Lord flew to Australia to produce it, David Hemming was the engineer and the song was recorded in the same studio, Studios 301.
