With all the change in the world this year we lost a ritual which had been bringing me home for 10 years. As a community, ZaZen has never been one to be told no. Up and down at @scmxpark last weekend! Seemed like “luck” was against me with a pretty good crash in practice (which could have gone way worse) and resulted in a broken rib and some bad soreness I’m still fighting. Then got caught in some first turn chaos in the first moto that put me in 37th over the finish on lap 1. The up is I had a killer weekend with my daughter coming along to the race this weekend, I had a good charge in moto 1 coming back to 24, and put together a 20 in moto 2. Bringing the positives with me knowing I switched up an engine package that seemed to really benefit me, I feel amazing fitness wise, and hoping we get a track that gets a little rougher down here in Florida this weekend! I wanted to take this shot since a very long time. Unfortunately, whenever I went to the park, the lights were off. This year, on Founders Day (3rd March), I was confident that Ill get it. But that day was reserved for some dignitaries.☹️ On 4th, I had a party at my own place, so the Sun didnt shine that day as well. ☹️☹️ 5th March was the last day before the lights would be taken down and guess what, it rained that evening, which rarely happens in March. 🤦🏻♂️😭 However, I was determined to take the shot, I just drove my car n at in it that even if the rain pauses for a few mins, I should be ready. I guess someone up there wanted to see this level of determination just to make the rain stop. It happened around 10:30 and I had just under 30 mins to walk n shoot. The Phoenix Rainbow as the Entrance to Center Camp at this years Burning Man...with a full moon as the cherry on top! This installation featured lighting programming run by Limbic Medias Aurora System and a controller called the Registroid created by Monkey C Interactive! Participants were able to control the colours and patterns of the Rainbow by pushing the keys of the Registroid! Lymphoma patient Tahnee Svensk and her amazing sister Kiri Lainela kicked off our global campaign by cartwheeling for a world record – and they did it. Emotions were high but there was a world of support to make what seemed an impossible feat a reality. Confession + Livestream Alert (tonight @ 8 pm): I did not miss Burning Man or DJing until I perused the archives from last year aboard the Oribombi. I was flattered the purple origami’ed zeppelin wanted me to help soundtrack burn night; but was unknowingly battling a serious knee injury, coming off an intense playa romance, and was just really fucking tired from camping exactly on the esplanade at a booming sound camp with sometimes undesirable music playing dusk til dawn. The Oribombi’s CDJs were mismatched, one was janky af, and a speaker had blown out.
