ITINERARIO ALTERNATIVO Perché rimanere bloccati per ore in autostrada? Con il caos che si genera ormai puntualmente tutti i fine settimana sulle autostrade per raggiungere il litorale ligure perché non prevedere strade alternative? Passare da Calizzano e approfittarne per fermarsi un momento è senz’altro una buona idea. Potrebbe essere l’occasione per prendersela con più calma e scoprire anche i paesi dell’entroterra. Calizzano si trova tra il Piemonte e la Liguria, da qui partono tre strade per la riviera ligure: una per Finale Ligure una per Borghetto SS, Loano una per Albenga. Sono un po’ tortuose ma sempre scorrevoli. Ecco come raggiungere il nostro paese: da Torino, Ceva passando da Bagnasco, Massimino oppure da Millesimo, Murialdo da Milano, Alessandria passando da Acqui Terme, Cairo Montenotte, Millesimo, Murialdo. Una volta a Calizzano è obbligatorio una visita nel nostro negozio in via G.B. Pera, 40 e poi un meraviglioso gelato artigianale in una delle gelaterie del paese o semplicemente un ottimo caffè nei diversi Bar. Se si prevede un po di tempo in più si può provare uno dei rinomati Ristoranti, Trattorie o Pizzerie, tutti straconsigliati! Hi fans! During this unique time, we have taken extreme precautions and have stayed on top of the state regulations that seem to change at a moments notice. Our live music is not incidental we always want to support our local musicians and other small businesses but after much discussion with county health officials and community members we have made the decision to close down our Open Barns/Live Music Sundays for the remainder of the season. As a small business, we just can’t take the risk of being shut down or having our license suspended. We are still open daily for tastings we are just suspending our live music Sundays here at the barn. We hope this will be over soon and we can resume live music for next year. I raced in honestly one of the best races of my life last night. Everyone raced clean but aggressive, I was only 0.07 seconds off the lead and was yelling in my helmet going across the finish line, while @cjgreaves33 was yelling in my ear over the radio. But even though the yelling didn’t help and I finished second, I couldn’t be any happier right now! This also made an unexpected tie with @jake_kosmecki_94 for 2nd in the championship which I ended up getting it cause of race finishes, but congratulations to him on an amazing race season. Also congrats to @d_marquardt22 on getting the win and the championship, It was a fun year racing with you guys. • I can’t thank @sxssportsracing and @johnnygreaves22 for putting on this amazing race series, the tracks were some of the best I’ve ever raced on. MDBF Clarksdale Edition 2020 19, 20 & 21 de Novembro Caxias do Sul - RS - Brasil Os Blues Fans que acompanharam todas ou a grande maioria das edições do MDBF sabem que o evento nunca foi estagnado num formato engessado e específico. Mesmo com experiencias satisfatórias e o sucesso maior de algumas edições, ousamos a cada nova temática assumindo os riscos do desafio. Nos últimos anos inclusive cogitamos a hipótese de tirar o MDBF da Estação Férrea de Caxias do Sul, mas consideramos o fato do Mississippi Delta Blues Bar ser o mentor do evento e o grande responsável pelas jams das madrugadas, desistindo assim de mudanças tão radicais. Porém hoje nos encontramos num momento em que podemos nos permitir estas novas alternativas. O bar localizado por mais de treze anos no Largo da Estação se deu por vencido pela badernas e fiscalizações constantes, buscando espaço num novo projeto gastronômico a ser iniciado nas réplicas do Parque da Festa da Uva ainda este ano. Analisando então as possibilidades, propostas, características propícias que se encaixem ao evento, temos até o momento 05 locais em vista para a realização do MDBF em novembro, não tendo mais propósito se manter no antigo local sentindo a ausência do Mississippi Delta Blues Bar. Caxias do Sul abriga inúmeras opções incríveis que merecem nossa atenção e que comportariam se transformar na cidade do Blues. ANNOUNCEMENT FROM CGFC PRESIDENT PETER SMALL: After 5 years of absolute fun, it is time for me to transition out of the role as President of CGFC. It has been a privilege to hold this honour as the Club has grown from strength to strength, based on hard work and a common goal ; to be the best we can be. There have been many highlights, but my lasting memory will be the many friends I have made, the wonderful young people we have welcomed in to our CGFC community and the realisation of what this Club means to so many people. At the upcoming AGM in November, I will hand over the role to a great fieldsman Will Bowes, who I know will lead the Club with a passion and desire to continue to improve on what we do, and what we can become. Thank you to all our Partners, the Committee, our Coaches, the supporters and our players – we would not be where we are without your efforts. This is your Club – be proud of it! 2020 has been a difficult year for many Australians as we all face a multitude of challenges, making it even more important for us to ask our friends, family and colleagues, ‘Are you OK?’ One of CareFlight’s aircrew officers, Eric (left), is keen to encourage people to have a conversation with each other and remove the stigma around mental health. “There is this misconception that people working in aviation and healthcare are superhumans who are emotionally bulletproof, when actually, we are some of the more susceptible people to feeling helpless and disconnected. The community doesn’t have that clarity on the pressures of the job and situations that we face, particularly when organisations like ours are helping the most vulnerable Australians,” said Eric. “It can be an awkward conversation to have, but it is better to have that chat than not have it at all. It just takes one person to speak up about how they are going and this is the most powerful thing you can do for a friend or colleague; you are letting them know that it is OK to experience the ups and downs in life. If you are in a work environment, it’s worth developing trusting relationships with colleagues to nurture the opportunities to have a check in.” Speaking from personal experience, Eric said it took him some time to realise that he needed help. Eventually, it was a friend who encouraged him to seek help after a conversation. “While it is important to be there for someone, we also have to ensure that we ask ourselves the question. The more open conversations we have, and the more stories are shared, we can break down the stigma together.” This year’s R U OK? The 2018 F4 US Championship is a wrap. This weekend was a tough one, got a bit unlucky in qualifying with a red flag that came at the worst time of the session since I was on a fast lap. This meant I could only manage 9th. Had a big crash that was out of my control in the first race that caused us to DNF. The team managed to fix the car back in time for Sunday and managed to finsh in fourth in the last race. Not the result we wanted in the end but still the team showed why it is the best, getting me out there on Sunday after the incident we had on the first race. Have to thank everyone in the @crosslinkkiwimotorsport for all the effort they have put into the car all season and always giving me the best car, as a result they managed to clinch the team championship which shows how hard they’ve worked all season.
