summery raspberry tart ❤️ after picking pounds of fresh raspberries yesterday, this was the first idea that came into my head for what to make with them! it’s a sweet pastry case filled with raspberry jam and topped with fresh raspberries :) For the pastry case: 3 1/3 cups all-purpose flour 3/4 cups caster sugar 1 1/2 cups butter 2 egg yolks 1 egg splash of vanilla and salt Mix flour and sugar together, and chop butter into 1 tbsp pieces. Using your hands, work the butter into the flour. Then, create a well into the center, and add both egg and yolks, vanilla and salt. Using a fork, work the mixture together until it forms a ball. Slice the ball into two, wrapping and saving on to freeze. With the remaining ball, roll it out 1/4 inch thick and place into a pie tin. Chill for 30 mins before blind-baking the crust with pie weights for 30 mins, or until golden brown on the edges. For the jam: 3 cups raspberries 1 whole lemon (juice of) caster sugar to taste 1 packet gelatin Place all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer until thick, around 20 mins. Chill before filling the crust. Once filled, place raspberries to your liking and serve with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Enjoy :)) - @isabelinthekitchen on Instagram

[Recipe under ❤️] Smells like autumn and a freshly baked apple pie (with a lot of cinnamon).🍂 . The cake is so good that everyone will love it - I promise!🤤 . APPLE PIE What you need: ▪️ 210 g flour ▪️2 tsp baking powder ▪️100 g erythritol (from @malincanastja) ▪️3 grated apples (and 2 sliced for topping) ▪️1 tbs cinnamon ▪️2 eggs ▪️120 ml vegetable oil ▪️120 ml (1/2 cup) Greek yogurt How to: Preheat oven to 180•C. First mix dry ingredients, add grated apples and mix again. Add eggs, oil and yoghurt and mix again. Pour the mixture into a pie tart and top with apple slices and more cinnamon (if you like it as much as we 🤪). Bake for 30-35 min, cool for 10min and serve. One of the older varieties we grow, Roxbury Russet! Discovered growing in Roxbury, Massachusetts in the mid 1600s- it can be eaten fresh or pressed into hard cider or juice. Yet another apple we have growing here that used to be one of Thomas Jefferson’s favorites, grown at Monticello. The russeting is the reason commercial growers won’t touch this apple. Started my morning at Sycamore Spring Orchard picking my favorite, Fuji Apples. Headed to their little store to grab the best Apple Dumplings around and found their Raw Honey to bring back to the bakery. Finally got to slice some apples - and they are delicious - and dip them in some dark Ghirardelli Chocolate. And just like that, BAM, we are ready for fall. So fun to pick your own apples. Cherries and rhubarb are two of my favourite foods, so I’ve combined them in this tasty little crumble cake. Make 2 loaves / 12 slices Ingredients 150g cherries 150g rhubarb Juice of 1/2 lemon 100g plain flour 75g ground almonds 2 tsp baking powder Pinch of salt 170g butter, at room temperature 170g caster sugar 3 eggs Topping 25g butter 3 tbsp plain flour 1 tbsp Demerara sugar 2 tbsp ground almonds 1/2 tsp almond essence Method Preheat the oven to Gas mark 4. Grease and line 2 standard loaf tins. Cut the rhubarb into 2cm slices and de-stone and halve the cherries, place in the bowl with the lemon juice. Prepare the topping by rubbing the butter into the flour, almonds, sugar and almond essence, set aside. Place a quarter or the rhubarb and cherry mix into the base of the loaf tins. Beat together the butter, sugar, flour, baking powder, almonds, salt and eggs for about 1 minute. Spread half the cake mix over the fruit, then add the remaining fruit and then the rest of the cake batter. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the cake and bake in the oven, gas mark 4 for about 40-50 minutes. This incredibly simple grape and rosemary tart was tonight’s winning “just an experiment” dessert. It’s based on a recipe from my dear friend @lindachaletzky. (I found a version in American Life Style Magazine, which she sends to clients & friends.) You literally just put a sheet of puff pastry in a tart pan, toss seedless red grapes with sugar and a bit of lemon juice, add them to the tart pan & bake. When it’s done, before the tart cools, you spread fresh rosemary over the top. Genius! It was a bit difficult to separate the tart from the pan, especially on the bottom, but definitely worth the effort. Most of the time growing up on the farm was a whole lot of work. All the jobs my brothers and I would do with my dad. I can remember hauling sprinkler lines through the orchard, jugging honey, bagging nuts, holding the flashlight, moving bees, feeding the endless herds of mini goats, chickens, pony’s, pigs, and the cow, sorting and selling anything and everything that grows in a row or on a tree, and so so so much more. im not a recipe blogger and this isnt my original recipe, but if youre not eating peaches you should be, and if you want to put them in a cobbler this is my favorite one. get fruit stand or farmers market peaches (trust, please) and ripen appropriately. this cobbler’s the very best about a half hour out of the oven; it bakes into the niftiest crispiest brûlée-shell topping, so plan to eat it pretty quick. double it and use a 9x13 for more than 2-4 people. 🍑slightly adapted peach cobbler🍑 1.5-2 lbs pitted, thick-sliced ripe peaches half a lemon 1/2 cup plus 3 tbsp sugar, divided 1/4 cup butter, room temp 3/4 cup flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp coarse salt 3/8 cup milk (use a quarter-cup measure, fill it one and a half times) 1/4 cup very hot water preheat oven to 350 degrees. arrange the peaches in a deep-dish pie pan or 9x9 baking pan. try to keep them all in one layer--its okay if theyre wedged pretty tightly. basically cut up 4 or 5 peaches and squeeze as many in one layer as you can. zest half a lemon over the top of them, then drip the strained lemon juice all over. beat the butter and **all but one tablespoon of the** sugar in a large bowl with a hand mixer, or in a stand mixer on medium-high speed, until sandy (about a minute). sprinkle the flour, baking powder, and salt in the bowl, and blend in well. blend the milk in a little at a time, scrape down the bowl, and beat at medium-high speed for several minutes, until light and fluffy. plop the batter onto the peaches in mounds, then smooth with an offset spatula. sprinkle with the last tablespoon of sugar and pour the hot water over the whole thing. if your pan isnt very deep and the cobbler is peeking over the edges, put it on a cookie sheet to catch any drips. bake 60-70 minutes or until the crust is crisp and browned and un-shiny. cool for at least 30 minutes so it sets up a little. eat warm and fresh--the super crisp lid of crust is the best part and you dont wanna miss that experience. after a few hours and definitely by the next day, it will be a soft dumpling-like topping--still delicious, but not as fun to crack through. **see comments for cream topping** - @fig.eats on Instagram

#GROWBAGS vs #GARDENBED — This past season I was also experimenting with different growing methods and spaces. One tip that stuck with me at the beginning of my research was to spread your crops around your growing space. The biggest reason being, if disease or pests infest your crops, you’ll have backup that is separate from the infected plants. So I planted a variety of veggies in grow bags on the opposite side of my yard. #Heirloomtomatoes, #bellpeppers, #cucmber, #ginger, and #garlic. — What did I learn?! Grow bags are great for small spaces and beginners. If you didn’t do your research, and don’t know when the sun hits your yard throughout the day, you might have a problem if you built a garden bed. Grow bags are mobile and growth is compact. My tomato plants have outgrown their cages x2, the tomato plants in the grow bags are bushier and smaller. My cucumber plant in my garden bed took on a life of its own, and grew to over 40ft long. My cucumber is in a pot more compact, with slower growth and yield of course, but perfect for someone growing in a small space. — Conclusion: I love love love grow bags! Perfect for bringing crops inside during the colder months. If you’re still learning, you can move them around to find their best light. They come in all different shapes and sizes to fit your needs and you save on soil and water. 💦 I love my garden beds, but I’ve made some pretty big layout errors that aren’t gonna be fun when fixing😩😆 @sol_house_greenery sells some great grow bags that I use. 🌹 Stef’s Healthy Rosette APPLE Crisp 🍎 Ingredients: Crust (@bobsredmill Paleo Pie Crust Recipe) -2 cups almond flour -2 Tbsp. liquid coconut oil -1 large egg -1/4 tsp. salt Filling - 5 medium sized apples - 1/3 cup maple syrup - 2 tsp. cinnamon - 1 tsp. nutmeg - 2 tsp. vanilla extract - Juice of 1/2 a lemon Topping: -1/3 cup almond flour -1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats -1/3 cup coconut sugar -1/2 cup raw walnuts, chopped -1 tsp. cinnamon -1/4 cup cold grassfed butter or vegan butter (I used Earth Balance) Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Generously grease a 9 inch circle cake pan or pie pan with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside. 2. First, you’ll slice the apples. Stand the apples up and cut one face of the apple. Next, rotate the apple about 120 degrees, slice again, and finally slice the last piece from the core. You should have a triangle-shaped piece of core left and 3 pieces of apple with flat bottoms. Then slice them into about 1/8 inch slices. 3. Combine the apples slices in a large bowl with the spices, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until each piece is coated. Place in the fridge while you work on the next steps. 4. Next, you’ll make the crust. Add almond flour and salt to food processor and pulse to mix. Add the coconut oil and egg, then pulse everything together until it forms a ball. It should be about the same consistency as cookie dough. 5. Place the dough into a 9-inch pie pan and gently press the crust into the pan and slightly up the sides. Bake for 8-12 minutes or until golden brown. 6. While the crust bakes, you’ll make the crumble topping. Place all topping ingredients in a medium bowl and combine with your hands. You want everything well combined but still in clumps/chunks. 7. Remove the apples from the fridge and remove the crust from the oven. Carefully place them in a rosette pattern in the pan on top of the cooked crust. Remember the pan is hot so be careful. Start from the rim of the pan and go in a circle as you work your way in. The slices should be tightly packed together. 8. Sprinkle the crumble on top of the apples. Bake for 45-55 minutes. Let cool, then serve and enjoy! - @stefanisassos on Instagram

Throw Back Thursday: Coconut 🥥 Raspberry Slice, this is the first recipe I shared using our Self Raising Lupin Flour All the recipes I share our family loves. Well maybe they dont love all of them, but my family have definitely been used as guinea pigs with recipes. And they are actually really honest now They used to think theyd hurt my feelings, now they know that when they tell me what they really think, I get my thinking cap on & see how I can improve it (or sometimes I just tell them they have no idea what theyre talking about) BASE: 165g Self Raising Lupin Flour 55g almond meal 20g desiccated coconut 125ml light olive oil 125ml maple syrup TOPPING: Raspberry jam 1 egg 1c desiccated coconut 3/4c rapadura sugar NOW WHIP IT UP BASE: Preheat over to 180° C (fan forced) Line slice tray (30cm x 20cmx 5cm) with baking paper Combine flour, almond & coconut Add oil & maple syrup & mix to ensure all ingredients are combined Spread over prepared tin Bake for 10 mins till slightly golden brown on top TOPPING: Lightly beat egg Add coconut & sugar When base is finished cooking, spread with raspberry jam & then top with the egg mix topping Bake fore another 10 mins till golden brown Store in a sealed container in the cupboard or fridge for approx. 5 days Have you ever made a coconut raspberry slice, let me know in the comments 👇🏻 📌MAKE SURE YOU SAVE THIS RECIPE! - @my_provincial_kitchen on Instagram

It’s International Literacy Day today and our family traditional, end of summer dessert has always been plum pie.❤️ It all started with a lovely children’s book called “Each Peach Pear Plum” by Janet and Allan Ahlberg, which is a delightful book for young children. The book features all the nursery rhyme and fairy tale characters enjoying plum pie at the end of the story. Our plum pie is gorgeous sweetened with Pure Maple Syrup!🍁 The recipe is as follows: Filling ingredients 750g ripe plums, sliced, 65g of Pure Maple Syrup, Amber Rich and 1 tbsp corn flour. Icing sugar for dusting. Pastry ingredients (if not using ready made short crust pastry) 225g plain flour, 100g cold unsalted butter cut in small pieces, pinch of salt. 2 - 3 tbsp cold water, 1 egg, beaten and maple or Demerara sugar. 1️⃣In a food processor place flour, butter and salt and blitz until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs, then add 1 tbsp of water at a time until a dough forms. Wrap the dough in clingfilm and refrigerate for 30 minutes. 2️⃣Place sliced plums, corn flour and maple syrup in a bowl and mix. 3️⃣Roll out pastry on floured greaseproof paper to 3mm thickness and trim to tidy up edges. 4️⃣Arrange fruit on pastry, leaving a 4cm border. Fold over the edges and brush with beaten egg and sprinkle sugar. 5️⃣Transfer to baking tray and pour over any remaining juices over the fruit. Bake in a preheated oven, 200C for 30 minutes and dust with icing sugar when ready. 6️⃣Serve with ice cream or cream. . . . #puremaplesyrup #maplesyrup #pie - @puremaple_ on Instagram

Time.. the greatest gift This time of year there is so much fresh produce on offer, the brilliant bramble bushes producing blackberries that are absolutely stunning. Foraging these in the early mornings over the last few weeks has given me more time in the day, a chance to appreciate the season of the wild blackberry and a reminder to optimise time. Exciting things are happening within in the company I work for.. @seamushooley in his drinks, @chefdickielad and his bramble jelly, Clare and her @madeinoldstead tart, @seanwrest1 with his duck @rootsyork name just a few. I’ve played with a few things at home including a simple blackberry jam inspired by my memories of my Nan’s homemade jam. In azienda stiamo sviluppando e investendo molte risorse nel settore dei piccoli frutti ed in particolare sui lamponi. Ci sono varie ragioni che ci spingono verso questa scelta. La prima considerazione attiene all’orografia di parte della superficie aziendale, costituita da fasce e terrazzamenti. Qui le nostre colture core, Patate ed Enkir, non possono trovare gli spazi sufficienti, mente gli impianti di piccoli frutti trovano una disposizione ottimale. Poi troviamo una ragione per così dire romantica. Agli albori della civiltà gli ominidi non nascono contadini ma raccoglitori, solo in un momento successivo capiscono che conservando i semi e piantandoli possono costituire campi da dove poter attingere materie prime alimentari. La fase della raccolta, che non può essere altrimenti svolta se non a mano, ci porta ad una dimensione di contatto completamente diversa, fisicamente ci troviamo molto vicini alle piante e con un ritmo molto più lento. Questo non avviene nella raccolta meccanica perchè il trattore funge da filtro tra noi e le piante che andiamo a raccogliere. Questa stretta vicinanza ci permette di scoprire un mondo di piccoli insetti, farfalle, coccinelle, lumache, bruchi, lucertole, ramarri, che popola e compie il ciclo vitale all’interno dell’impianto. Si osserva insomma uno spaccato di biosfera che si svolge proprio li a pochi centimetri da noi, quasi incurante ed indifferente alla nostra presenza. #EinfachBruno Obst und Gemüse ist die beste Nahrungsergänzung die man mit dem Sport beginnt. Die meisten die ich kenne, nehmen ordentlich Supplemente, was teilweise echt unnötig ist! Nein ich denke stellenweise sogar fahrlässig gegenüber seinem Körper. Denn all die wichtigen Inhaltsstoffe sind meist synthetisiert und oder in geößeren Mengen organschädigend! Das ist nicht sehr weise! Denn zumeist beginnt man mit dem Sport, um sich zu entwickeln und seinen Körper wert zu schätzen. Wieso nicht einfach ausgewogen und regelmäßig über den Tag verteilt ein paar Portionen saisonales und regionales Obst und Gemüse? Ein paar Nüsse zum sancken zwischen durch. Ich sage nicht dass Supplemente prinzipiell unnötig sind, alles was ich nicht über eine ausgewogene Ernährung hinaus abgedeckt bekomme, das fülle ich eben dann wohl dosiert mit Ergänzenden Mitteln auf. #ThisWineThatDish “in this series I will be sharing my take on which BC Wine pairs well with some inspirational recipes.” This recipe came out of necessity! What do you do with a box of about 100 plums? For this version and just for fun I used the basic soft dough recipe from my faded copy of Foods and Home Management, Government of the Province of British Columbia, Department of Education circa 1932, revised 1957, and this particular copy was printed in 1960. I wonder if they still use this old tome. My suggested wine pairing: NOBLE RIDGE 2014 The Crown 100% Merlot Inaugural vintage of The Crown Port-style wine Estate Merlot grapes were destemmed and crushed with a 5 day cold soak prior to fermentation. Тоже не беда, фрукты можно раздать бесплатно незнакомым людям — написать объявление на одном из специальных сайтов (например, www.shrapples.se), или просто поставить у ворот дома корзину с запиской: “Угощайтесь!” 🍏 Можно за небольшую плату сдать яблоки ближайшим производителям яблочного сока, сидра и мюста (это неосветленная разновидность сока) там фрукты выжмут, приготовят и даже выдержат напиток нужное время. Забирай, когда готов! 🍏 Некоторые продуктовые принимают излишки урожая на реализацию.
