inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon.⁣ ⁣ ‎إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ‎⁣ ⁣ my grandmother passed away an hour ago in jordan and i’m completely devastated. ⁣ ⁣ i remember the last time i saw her in the summer of 2018. on my last day i came over to say goodbye to her and kiss her before leaving to the airport. she said “ameer come in, come in” and when i walked in she surprised me with a goodbye meal. my favorite batata wa bayd. my aunt was telling me that jiddah hasn’t cooked in years because of her age but went out of her way to make the meal for me before i left.⁣ ⁣ i took this photo of her when we visited my aunts house earlier. she never allows anyone to take her photo, but she told me she wanted a picture by the sunset. ⁣ ⁣ subhanallah. may Allah swt put her in the highest ranks of jannah. please read fatiha for my grandmother. she took care of me, my sister and brother when we young. - @snake on Instagram

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:1‭-‬3 I spent some time looking at Hebrews 12:1-3 last week. Its scripture that Ive often read but I prayed that God would speak to me afresh through it. Initially I read it and struggled to see anything new. So I prayed again, that I would not become stale in my reading of this scripture. I then read it again and this time something stood out to me. It actually linked back to a book I had read earlier and the scripture that the author read through (Luke 15 - The lost sheep in particular). In that he picked up on the immense Joy that was felt in Heaven whenever just one person repented. I then thought about my passage and read again the verse about the Joy set before Jesus. I started to think on that. What was that Joy? Part of it was sitting at the right hand side of the Father but I began to think about the other part of it being about the one sheep who is found. The Joy of knowing that what was lost would now be found through what he is going to do on the cross. I then read back the verse about fixing our eyes on Jesus. And I just had this image of Jesus filled with Joy at seeing the lost being found. No matter how small or unimportant they felt, He rejoices because they were found. It was a beautiful image to think about. I think sometimes its not that I take my eyes off Jesus, but I can forget the Joy that comes from doing His work. I can sometimes become stale in my service to God and forget about the immense Joy that is felt in heaven when just one more repents. One word for tonight: JOY. - @mark_whitelaw on Instagram

I met @mr_drinkard in 2011, when I was 18 years old. I was visiting my cousin at the @universityofga during spring break and he was visiting his brother. We flirted and exchanged numbers, and I didnt think anything of it until we were both on the same plane back home to Illinois. It was a strange coincidence. We sat next to each other the entire flight and exchanged social media. But, we didnt communicate for a whole year. We both had our own things going on. It wasnt until 20102 that we started subtly flirting with each other, and he finally slid into my DMs asking why wed lost touch. We started talking again, and I would visit him often at school. College was a growing experience for us. He was the hot-shot Basketball player who could have any girl he wanted, and I was the Indian girl who had to keep him a secret. @mr_drinkard chose me, chose my culture, and chose to understand why I couldnt tell my parents I was dating someone at 19-years old. I kept him a secret for the next four years. It wasnt until I moved to Atlanta in 2015 that I finally decided to tell my parents. I was so loved and accepted by @mr_drinkard family and felt he deserved the same. My family is full of interracial couples, but we would be the first Indian and Black. When I first told my parents in 2016, it was more disappointment than anger. They were shocked that I could hide such an important part of my life from them for so long. Finally, in 2016 he met my parents. Today, we spend holidays together, and my Dad gave his blessing for marriage this past Christmas. We celebrated eight years of love on September 1st! I cant wait for the next chapter of our life. ⚜️ H A J J 2 0 1 8 ⚜️ An experience of a lifetime is truly an understatement. Initially, I was overwhelmed with the amount of women that would push and shove always rushing to get to our destination and I couldn’t quite fathom why they were so aggressive, when I’ve been accustomed to feeling like patiently waiting in a line is the norm. I met some amazing women from all over the world after conversing with them I realised it was not aggression that was displayed it was passion and dedication. You may ask why? Well coming from Australia- a developed country, if you are financially and physically able to perform hajj, you apply for a Visa, and you are Invited by Allah aswj then bi ithnillah you will go to Hajj. For the majority it is not that easy, some told us they’ve been on a waiting list for 5years while others have waited 20. We have the luxury of going as many times as we like and these brothers and sisters wait for many years knowing it will definitely be their first and last time. We have the luxury of travelling by plane, some travel by bus some even travel on foot for months to get to the Holy Land. After this was brought to my attention, I was saddened as I came to the realisation that I was truly not as grateful as I thought I was, and my NAFS was going to be tested extremely when it came to patience. Need I say this was the most amazing experience of my life that taught me so much about other people and most importantly I found myself more than ever, with a lot to work on back home which I feel is my umtilmate test of patience as we are surrounded by Fitna. Subhanallah how each one of us that was invited to perform Hajj this year, had something different to benefit and learn from the experience, while we all shared the same purpose and that is to Praise, Glorify and Worship Allah in Abundance, purify and discipline our NAFS, exercise patience all while following the footsteps of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad saw in completing a Pillar of our Faith. There is nothing like marriage for those who love each other - Prophet Muhammad (saw) Alhamdullilah we have now been married according to Islam for more than two years. However for our marriage to be accepted in Germany on Monday 3rd of August was our civil marriage. I am not the one for cheesy romantic captions and I might not be the most experienced wife but let me give you one advice: Keep everything halal from the beginning, civil marriage doesnt exist in Islam what matters more is your Nikkah. Even if you are still single according to the law you are husband and wife in the eyes of Allah (swt). As Allah said in the Quran We created you in pairs (78:8) and Alhamdullilah for this ❤. QUESTION I have a question. Why does Allah bring people into your life when you dont belong together? There are moments when you leave them, and then go back to them as well, or they come back to you, but in the end, it was never meant to happen. Its getting too difficult for me now to move on with something I couldnt imagine having. I so want to ask this question from Allah directly so that I get to know why does He send some people in our life, makes us live with them and then they leave you. I dont find any lesson except for the pain when they leave. ANSWER Allah brings people into our lives for a purpose, and He then takes them away when their purpose is done. Every experience you have with people you meet is meant to teach you something. When He removes them from your life, you must say “alhamdulillah” because there is most definitely a lesson youve learned that you can’t comprehend at this moment. Youll never really know for sure what roles people play in your life, but if you look back, youll realize that they have either sparked the cogs of change or have taught you something valuable. Allah places people in our lives at specific times to suit a specific reason and removes them from our lives at specific times. Rather than thinking about why do they leave, think about Why did they enter. That will make your life more meaningful. The life of this world is transitory, its a journey, and everyone you meet will leave you one day, and someones leaving may drive you to think about the life - loss, and gain. Life is all about losing and gaining. Not every friendship or relationship is meant to be what you have imagined. We always imagine a happy ending, but we forget that sad endings also exists. I feel soo lucky that just even a small recitation of the Quran calms my heart. 𝘼𝙇𝙃𝘼𝙈𝘿𝙐𝙇𝙄𝙇𝙇𝘼𝙃❤ Each and every word of the Quran touches my heart making it yearn for more, smoothening my harshness and making my feeble attire to strengthen from the inside.  All the sorrow, all the pain just vanishes off as if I never felt it. Allahسبحانه وتعالى has blessed us to be muslims. 𝘼𝙇𝙃𝘼𝙈𝘿𝙐𝙇𝙄𝙇𝙇𝘼𝙃❤ Allah سبحانه وتعالى made ways for us to calm our heart. It is such a bliss that everything happening in life leads to something really good. All the chaos that is breaking you has a reason, has something good. Did you ever feel that your life is pointless?  Because it is not. You are constantly working for Jannah. As muslims our goal is Jannat-ul-Firdaus. The depression that you let it wrap around you can be stopped. You just have to make an effort. You have to talk out the sadness. No one can, but you. Until and unless you dont make an effort towards yourself, youll be falling. Expect nothing from the others, because no one will ever be there for you. It is Allah سبحانه وتعالى always and always forever. 𝙄𝙉 𝙎𝙃𝘼 𝘼𝙇𝙇𝘼𝙃. When you feel low, all you have to do is plug in your ears and listen to which ever Surah you want to or perform Wadhu and recite Quran. And then youll see how depression will run away. 𝙄𝙉 𝙎𝙃𝘼 𝘼𝙇𝙇𝘼𝙃. Quran will always calm you, removing all the sorrow and the pain. 𝙎𝙐𝘽𝙃𝘼𝙉𝘼𝙇𝙇𝘼𝙃❤ This worldy life will always cause you pain. Allah سبحانه وتعالى knew it and He gifted you Quran and asked you to bow down in prostration and speak to Him. In this world there is no place better than Sujood which can make you feel home and there is no recitation better that Quran which can calm you. 𝙎𝙐𝘽𝙃𝘼𝙉𝘼𝙇𝙇𝘼𝙃❤ Now if you feel you are not lucky, then you are the luckiest person who have been blessed to be a Muslim.
