In the past two years, I have been so blessed to have gotten to know a man as wonderful, compassionate and loving as Josh Burrage. I didn’t realize when I met Josh that I had met someone who would become my friend, hero and most importantly my mentor. I don’t know how to fully put in to words how to fully and completely say thank you, but I’m going to do my absolute best. Josh taught me some very important things. Of course, he taught me dance steps and choreographed pieces I’ve gotten to perform, but more importantly he’s taught me how to be more confident, how to ignore the bullies and how to love myself. He’s helped me figure out how to cope with my anxiety and how to get through my depressive episodes. He’s helped me stand back up when I’ve fallen hard. He’s shown me love and compassion when I was broken, and he’s been my friend when I felt alone. He’s saved my life, and he’s made me smile. He’s made me laugh and smile when I couldn’t find any joy in myself. He’s taught me a lot about self acceptance and self love and I’m so thankful for what he’s taught me. He’s done so much for me too. He’s not only cared for me and showed me compassion and helped me feel talented, but he’s also done things for me that I couldn’t even imagine people actually doing for me. He actually wrote me a letter of recommendation for my college applications and I still can’t believe he would do that for me. He’s a super hero and I’m so thankful for him. Seeing him perform makes me cry. Seeing his face makes all my anxieties disappear. He gives the warmest and most amazing hugs that make me feel safe and protected. He is the goofiest and funnest person I know and I am so thankful that I’ve been given the opportunity to get to know him and be his friend. I don’t know where I’d be or who I’d be or if I’d even be alive if I didn’t have Josh. I’m scared of losing him, and I’m not sure what’ll happen after I leave helmet4burrage, but I hope I still have Josh and I hope I don’t lose him, but even if I do lose him I’ll still be so thankful for all the funny and sweet and sad memories I am blessed to have shared with him. ⚠️Announcement: Please Read⚠️ After lots and lots of pondering and thinking and contemplating, I have decided that this week will be my last week running helmet4burrage. It took me a long time to decide to finally let go, but I think it’s time. This account has been my entire world for over 2 years and I’m thankful for that, but I want it to remain a chapter in my life and not my whole life especially since now I am going to be going to college and being an adult (wild). I really don’t want to have an account I started when I was 15 follow me into my real life and I know the longer and longer I hold on a procrastinate the harder it will be. I’m not ever going to stop supporting Josh and I will forever consider myself to be one of his biggest fans. I already have tickets to see A Bronx Tale two times, and I will probably go more times than that. He’s never going to stop being important to me. I’m also letting go of this account as a heath concern. I sometimes find myself being anxious over things that don’t matter on this account and my health is honestly just more important. Stepping down from this account will be very difficult for me since I found my identity in this account for 2 years, but it’s time for me to find my real identity before I grow up. I don’t want to lose contact with my friends and people I’ve grown close to.
