It can be worry which is future oriented thoughts resistant to uncertainty and ambiguity. It can be fear, actual fear of imminent threat. It can be the feeling state of anxiety which is physiological arousal like difficulty breathing or sensations of tightness.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Intuition: It’s a deep sense. A knowing. Impressions. Clarity. 6th sense. Even when related to fear or warning, intuition is more calm and grounded. It’s resolve. It’s in your gut. It’s typically relieving instead of panic inducing.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How do I know this? I don’t. It’s a hypothesis like every single thing I say. I’m not my ideas, but I have ideas. This one is from my intuition, job experience, and personal lived experience. Most of my counseling hacks are simply my observations of patterns mixed with my personal anxiety and intuition. When most people hear the word “detox,” they think of cleaning up their diet, but another great way to rid your body of toxins is through exercise, especially yoga. Yogi @seanecorn recommends full-body and repetitive movements (like a series of sun salutations) along with deep breathing to warm up the body. After that, specific poses like the twisting triangle can support the process of detoxification more efficiently and effectively. ⁠ ⁠ Twisting Triangle How-To⁠ Phase One:⁠ 1. Starting with both feet pointing straight ahead, take a big step forward with your right foot and separate feet to hip width for balance. Turn your left foot outward to about 45 degrees.⁠ 2. Rotate your torso to square your hips to the front of the mat.⁠ 3. Inhale deeply, then exhale and fold forward over your right leg. Bend your right knee slightly. Use a yoga block for support.⁠ 4. Place your right hand low on your right hip or into the crease between your hip and thigh. Keeping the right knee bent, gently pull back your right hip. Your back should be flat.⁠ 5. Press the outside edge of your left foot into the ground, lifting the arch. This creates a strong base and will protect your ankle and knee.⁠ 6. Press the bone of your right big toe into the ground to create a strong foundation.⁠ ⁠ Phase Two:⁠ 1. Straighten your right knee, if possible, and press down into your feet. Lengthen your spine forward.⁠ 2. Rotate your right ribcage upward toward the ceiling, keeping your hips aligned.⁠ 3. Raise your right arm up toward the ceiling, stacking your shoulders if possible. Press down into your left hand and reach up through your right hand.⁠ 4. Turn your head to look up. If this hurts your neck, look sideways or down.⁠ 5. Take five to 10 deep breaths through your nose. When complete, repeat on left side. To switch sides, look down and place your hands on the floor. Bend your right knee and come up as you inhale. 🧘‍♀️ Live Yoga for Osteoporosis!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m very excited to announce that I’ll be teaching yoga live in the AlgaeCal Facebook Community from my living room to yours starting on Monday at 9 AM PST!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Yoga is a wonderful form of exercise for your bones - and really there’s no place better to do it than the comfort of your own home. 💕⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ll demonstrate how to safely and effectively practice yoga poses to increase your bone strength and teach modifications that both beginners and seasoned yogis can enjoy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You’ll need just a few things to follow along:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ • Comfy clothes (and bare feet!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ • Yoga mat⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ • Armless chair⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ • Yoga strap (if you don’t have one, a belt or a scarf will work just as well!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ • Wall to stand against⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The live session will pop up on the AlgaeCal Community Facebook page once it starts (you’ll likely also get a Facebook notification for it) so simply visit the Community page a few minutes before we get started.
