⛰️ AL RESCATE DE LA CAMPANA Es una de las montañas más emblemáticas de la cordillera de la Costa, pero la experiencia de alcanzar su cumbre tiene un aspecto muy negativo: las rocas de la cima están todas rayadas. Sin embargo, un inédito proyecto de limpieza y restauración está en marcha para solucionarlo. Impulsado por la Fundación Andestrek @fundacionande con el apoyo de la Escuela de Ingeniería en Medio Ambiente de la Universidad de Valparaíso, Conaf y Sernatur, el proyecto Por una cumbre sin graffiti: Rescate en La Campana @limpiezalacampana busca remover los rayados de la cumbre que se han ido acumulando durante décadas. Tras aprobarse una experiencia piloto que se realizó en 2017, la iniciativa fue finalmente autorizada por Conaf el 21 de julio de este año, y ahora espera reunir el financiamiento necesario para comenzar, si todo avanza según lo planeado, a partir de marzo próximo. En un área de unos 4.500 metros cuadrados hay más de 300 rayados en las rocas. Algunos son antiguos —hay nombres tallados en las piedras con fecha 1884— y otros recientes, pintados con látex, óleo y hasta corrector líquido y esmalte de uñas. “Cuando yo subí por primera vez en los 70, ya estaba rayado, dice Marcos Liberona, fundador de la Fundación Andestrek y gestor de la campaña. Es muy decepcionante. Se ha rayado por casi nueve décadas, y hay tallados aún más antiguos, según las fechas escritas. Ocurre que a través de toda la ascensión vas observando un paisaje hermoso, lleno de bosques, pero cuando vas llegando a la cumbre y comienzas a ver los Andes al fondo, aparecen esta piedras con nombres que parecen lápidas de cementerio. He visto a turistas extranjeros que quedan sumamente impactados. La alteración visual es como una bofetada”.
