Clients wanted a piece of furniture no greater than 42 inches that held a kegerator, a wine cooler and hidden pull-out bottle storage. We added a custom, distressed and glazed finish, a live edge counter surface and upper storage with a center lit display. Yep! All that in one small piece of furniture. The Guild was built to legitimize & empower small, local, and independent maltsters throughout North America. The pioneers of our community saw that despite the craft’s successes in relocalizing beer and spirits, the malt supply remained heavily consolidated and commodity-based. Brewers and distillers throughout North America were still buying their malt from all of the same sources, and it was exceedingly difficult to connect with local farmers. But if you arent familiar with her, shes an Imperial Brown Ale brewed with local honey that provides a subtle, but unique flavor. She pours deep brown with a foamy tan head, slightly dry and full of malt flavors with a decent amount of hops for balance. The Witch was one of 6 beers on tap the very first day we opened in October of 2013 and has become our most requested cult classic. Hey everyone, just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all the support during this crazy time. This month marks 10 years of professional brewing for me and I am incredibly grateful to be standing on the brew deck at Pariah as I type this. As a new resident of San Diego at the time, I was able to get a part time job at a liquor store and would go to the brewpub next door after work. I asked the bartender why they never had any house beers and he told me they didn’t have a brewer. After thinking it over I got up the courage to bring a 6 pack of home brew in, gave it to the bartender and said “Here’s my resume. I can start tomorrow.” In that 6 pack was a pale ale, a gose, a red IPA, a Belgian strong ale w/ raisins, and a stout that would become Dorcha Extra Stout. The owner gave me the job and I brewed water for 2+ weeks while opening valves and listening for where the water came out to teach myself the system lol. What a wild ride it has been thus far. Coming to San Diego was at a pretty low point in my life but falling in love with this craft has brought me more joy and more awesome life experiences than I could have ever imagined including meeting Christa, who everyone knows is my better half. Opening and running Pariah is easily the hardest thing I have ever done in my life yet I truly love every bit of it. We started our brand many years ago in the basement brewery. The dream started and the passion led us to open our taproom two years ago. Sometimes you have to look back at the start of the journey to appreciate the present. I just want to thank everyone for all the support the past years. Starting with my wife and children that live the lifestyle and help me daily. The loyal regulars that have created a solid backbone for our brand and all the new faces to. This week has been one for the record books and it has been so humbling. The future is bright and the challenge has been great. We continue to grow out of our expectations and the plan is together for the next months. More fermentation tanks will be purchased soon to expand our brand. A fully automated canning line is in the plans for year three also. We are Fall Rivers brewery, our roots run deep and we are ready to share our passion with more like minded people. Clonakilty Distillery has just announced that it will start manufacturing hand sanitisers. CEO Michael Scully said, “our main priority is public service, and we feel any company in a position to offer a helping hand right now, should do so.” Scully said that “we are adhering to HSE specifications, creating sanitisers with an alcohol content of 63 per cent ABV. Fortunately, we already have suitable 500 ml PET bottles and equipment in place, which means that we are ready to go into production immediately. We expect to have our first batch of 5,000 bottles ready within the next week.” Scully said, “We plan on offering the sanitiser for free to local charities and those most in need.” The company will supply the rest at cost, at first to the local community. To step into Hampden Estate is to experience a step back in time to an unchanged, 18th century distillery. Since 1753 Hampden Estate has continuously produced some of the most sought after and valuable rum in the world. In the early 1900s the method of producing extremely high ester rum was developed at Hampden and spread to the other distilleries in the area— the parish of Trelawny became the epicenter of Hogo. Trelawny rums were famous for their extremely high esters and Hampden is the region’s last continuously operated distillery, still producing with the same traditional methods. In 2009, the Hussey family bought the distillery and retained all of the traditional practices of Trelawny Rum. In 2010, Rum began aging at the distillery for the first time in history. A world premiere. Hampden 2010 C💎H is an incredibly powerful bottling of Hampden Estate rum exemplifying the single marque showing 1300-1400 grams of esters / hlpa (the second highest marque of the distillery). This expression is completely aged at the distillery in Trelawny, Jamaica. It has never before been bottled on its own in history, a world premiere. Bottled at cask strength after 10 tropical years, with 64% angel’s share (evaporation). Distilled 2010.
