This year has been very kind to me. All of the events and people that Iāve met have led me to being a part of events like yesterday. Being in a room with 15 intelligent, talented, driven womxn from all over New Jersey was inspiring. Being educated and led through a tasting by @rogue_barkeep_balvenie was motivating. Being a part of hosting this incredible event was a lot of fun-between putting together the welcome cocktail and a spirit free exit house made cider was... interesting and required some trial and error and wasted product by me š. . . . There has been a lot of talk about womxn being behind the bar-especially after three. While Iām not going to touch much on how narrow minded some of those comments are, I will share this. The womxn that Iāve had the pleasure of meeting in the food & beverage & hospitality industry have been nothing short of incredible. They have been the most driven, self motivating, and supportive in many different areas of this industry, but most importantly the ones Iāve been in contact with have been the most patient mentors, been the most courageous about sharing their stories and their growth, and the MOST uplifting individuals. Iām honored to be a womxn behind the bar and leading a team, Iām honored to be in this pool with some of the most talented people, and Iām lucky to work for a company that sees past gender and employs women in many different areas of management-allowing their creativity and structure to shine. . . . We started our brand many years ago in the basement brewery. The dream started and the passion led us to open our taproom two years ago. Sometimes you have to look back at the start of the journey to appreciate the present. I just want to thank everyone for all the support the past years. Starting with my wife and children that live the lifestyle and help me daily. The loyal regulars that have created a solid backbone for our brand and all the new faces to. This week has been one for the record books and it has been so humbling. The future is bright and the challenge has been great. We continue to grow out of our expectations and the plan is together for the next months. More fermentation tanks will be purchased soon to expand our brand. To step into Hampden Estate is to experience a step back in time to an unchanged, 18th century distillery. Since 1753 Hampden Estate has continuously produced some of the most sought after and valuable rum in the world. In the early 1900s the method of producing extremely high ester rum was developed at Hampden and spread to the other distilleries in the areaā the parish of Trelawny became the epicenter of Hogo. Trelawny rums were famous for their extremely high esters and Hampden is the regionās last continuously operated distillery, still producing with the same traditional methods. In 2009, the Hussey family bought the distillery and retained all of the traditional practices of Trelawny Rum. In 2010, Rum began aging at the distillery for the first time in history. A world premiere. Hampden 2010 CšH is an incredibly powerful bottling of Hampden Estate rum exemplifying the single marque showing 1300-1400 grams of esters / hlpa (the second highest marque of the distillery). This expression is completely aged at the distillery in Trelawny, Jamaica. It has never before been bottled on its own in history, a world premiere. Bottled at cask strength after 10 tropical years, with 64% angelās share (evaporation). Distilled 2010. CEO Michael Scully said, āour main priority is public service, and we feel any company in a position to offer a helping hand right now, should do so.ā Scully said that āwe are adhering to HSE specifications, creating sanitisers with an alcohol content of 63 per cent ABV.Ā Fortunately, weĀ already have suitable 500 ml PET bottles and equipment in place, which means that weĀ are ready to go into production immediately. So as many of you know, I have a pretty big obsession with brewing. Over the last 6 months Iāve been slowly upgrading my current home brewing set up. Yesterday this baby showed up on my door step. This is my new Spike Brewing conical unitank fermenter. I did weeks of research debating on which unit I wanted to buy and ended up going with Spike. I cannot say enough about this company! First off I ordered this Wednesday morning at 11am and it arrived yesterday at 10:30am (less than 48 hours!). The quality and craftsmanship that goes into these is unbelievable.
