Does The Universe Exist Because Of Our Conciousness? ●From the evolution of quantum physics, physicists started looking at the basic constituents of reality- atoms or their innards or photons. ●Weirdly enough the double slit experiment showed that constituents of reality(atoms photons etc) behave both as a wave and a particle. This past week, I spent some time unplugging from the world and enjoyed some hiking and astrophotography in northern New Hampshire. Heres one of the astropics I captured. This is a 180° all sky fisheye view of the summer Milky Way from Crawford Notch in the heart of the White Mountain National Forest. Free from any major sources of light pollution, it ranks as a Bortle Class 2 sky and it one of the best areas to #stargaze in the Eastern USA. Whats in the sky this Wednesday? Deneb is a first-magnitude star in the constellation of Cygnus, the swan. Deneb is one of the vertices of the asterism known as the Summer Triangle and the head of the Northern Cross. It is the brightest star in Cygnus and the 19th brightest star in the night sky, with an average apparent magnitude of +1.25. A blue-white supergiant, Deneb rivals Rigel as the most luminous first magnitude star. However its distance, and hence luminosity, is poorly known; its luminosity is somewhere between 55,000 and 196,000 times that of the Sun. Its Bayer designation is α Cygni which is Latinised to Alpha Cygni, abbreviated to Alpha Cyg or α Cyg. Deneb rises at approximately 1:00 PM and sets at approximately 9:00 am the following day. SHEY CHORTENS -with Saturn, Jupiter, Milkyway and the Scorpius Constellation from left to right Around 2 weeks back I saw a beautiful picture on a friends story depicting the shey stupa fields. I made up my mind to go there whenever I find time. Yesterday we reached this place and the framing and orientation of milkyway was also perfect but never realised the light pollution out there. We continued shooting since the cloud was also coming hoping to more post processing work and it turned out to be true as it was quite a task to reach this point. So what do you think guys? Did my first test of my new Yongnuo 50mm f1.8 lens end up good? Honestly for such a cheap lens Im blown away. This image was shot using my Canon 6D and its a full frame body. Nevertheless the lens was able to render even the corners. I dont know if Im just lucky and got a really good piece or if its a standard but Im so satisfied with my purchase. It’s D-Day! Today in New Zealand at 4pm, our PM will be either let us out of lockdown or extend it further. Personally, I think some regions with a high number of cases should stay in level 4, and others (like the West Coast with only 1 case) should be lifted to level 3, even level 2....so long as we keep to our own region. What do you guys think? Our little towns and small businesses DESPERATELY need some kind of income soon. I know it’s about saving lives, but I think we’ve done a pretty good job of that. As the 2020 Milky Way season approaches, we observe the Scorpio constellation rising in the east, with Antares, the red supergiant at the heart of the scorpion. Despite not being my personal zodiac, I have to admit, this is still my favourite constellation. What follows Scorpio in weeks and months to come is the rise of the Milky Ways galactic core. The brightest and most star dense region of our very own Milky Way Galaxy, home also to the supermassive black hole, Sagittarius A. This is an image I captured last winter. It is a tracked, stacked and stitched astro panorama and is comprised of 25 minutes of image data, plus dark and flat calibration frames. This shows my progress taking space photos of the Elephants Trunk Nebula starting with the first one 4 years ago when I couldnt even find it, to my latest picture that earned me a NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD). Picture 1 was captured in September of 2016. I spent 30 minutes pointing my telescope at this spot and when I combined my exposures to make the final image, nothing was there. Picture 2 was captured in November of 2016. This is when I started using narrowband filters to fight against light pollution, but I wasnt yet interested in color images. Picture 3 was captured in 2017 and my first attempt at capturing the Elephants Trunk Nebula in color. Picture 4 was captured in 2018 and I thought it was my best attempt up to that point. Picture 5 was captured in 2019. I went big on this one with 22 hours of exposure time. I captured my FIRST ever tracked shot of the Milkyway 😍 . Thanks to @infinity_seeker96 for landing me tracker so I could track the stars and get 20 shot of the galaxy! I was able to stack those photos for amazing details that emerge from the photo! . This shot is special because you can see so many astronomical amazingness in it 😃 check out the second photo! Lagoon Nebula, M23, Eagle Nebula, Trifid Nebula and sooo much more 🤓 . I was on vacation last week and had an opportunity to head out to multiple locations and not only photograph the night sky but also got to hang out with @infinity_seeker96, @weatherandsky, @anntekatch and @xiaochentothemoon 🤩 . Heart Nebula in Hydrogen, Oxygen and Sulfur. What powers the Heart Nebula? The large emission nebula dubbed IC 1805 looks, in whole, like a heart. The nebulas glow -- as well as the shape of the gas and dust clouds -- is powered by by stellar winds and radiation from massive hot stars in the nebulas newborn star cluster Melotte 15. This deep telescopic image maps the pervasive light of narrow emission lines from atoms of hydrogen, oxygen, and sulfur in the nebula. The field of view spans just over two degrees on the sky, so that it appears larger than four times the diameter of a full moon. The cosmic heart is found in the constellation of Cassiopeia, the boastful mythical Queen of Aethiopia . 6 Minutes over Joshua Tree National Park, July 2019 This is the first August in 8 years that I didn’t make it out at least one evening for night photography. Between Covid and the excessive heat I decided to play it safe. So I grabbed a frame from one of last summer’s vertical panos to see what I could do with it as a stand alone image. I was surprised to see my exposure was 6 minutes using the Skywatcher Star Adventurer. The extra detail and lower noise is a joy to work with. The diffraction spikes coming from Jupiter are an optical byproduct of the lens I used and not a post processing trick. One interesting aspect to this particular evening was the 7.1 earth quake that shook the region. Amazingly we didn’t feel a thing! Many of you have guessed the inspiration for our newest Flagship Design that will be available on October 1st. It Is the Green Bank Radio Telescope. This massive telescope is used by scientists all over the world to research the vast unknowns of space. It sets 485 feet tall and has a collection area of 2.3 acres. This telescope also sits on an interesting plot of land known as the National Radio Quiet Zone. Over 100 miles of no cell phone service, internet, radio, or TV. The telescope is so sensitive that it can even pick up the radio waves being sent from the camera that took this shot. Made a quick trip to CSIRO’s Paul Wild Observatory in between my time spent at Warrumbungle. This shot was actually heaps harder than I thought it would be, trying to take all frames in the one satellite position as it moves at random intervals. I also wanted frames without light painting so had to get lucky between breaks from other togs. It took me a while to get the frames right, but eventually got there! All part of the fun. This pano consists of two rows with 7x shots per row.
