I know that it would mean the world to her if you would give her away. Look, I love Brenda dearly and I would gladly step in if she marry another man but Sonny Corinthos corrupted Jason and he stole Michael and I refuse to hand another innocent over to that man. I know my dad isnt perfect but he really does love Brenda. I apologize young lady. I know that he is your father and its perfectly understandable that you would try to protect him but let me tell you something. If in the future, god forbid, another young man, like Sonny, would attempt to marry you. Sunny would kill him on the spot. Edward, Brenda is sitting in her bridesroom waiting for Jason to walk her down the aisle. I mean, if you really do love Brenda like you say you do, can you please just put your feelings aside for Sunny and give her away? Im sorry. Sitting through this spectacle is all Im willing to do. Hey, guys. Whats all of? Uh, no ones heard from Jason. So you think the bride got cold feet? She did, itll break Sonnys heart. Dont leave us shes getting back at Sonny for leaving her at the altar last time. Do you really think she would include the kids if all she wanted was payback? Besides that was a long time ago. I dont claim to know what the divine one is thinking. Yeah, but you live with her and you see her every day so you honestly have no idea what could have changed her mind. I cant help but notice that Carly is conspicuously missing. Do you think she has anything to do with the delay? Well, I havent spoken to her. You certainly know what shes capable of. Yeah, she hates Brenda. It wouldnt surprise me if shed try to ruin this wedding. The missing bride is any indication. Mission accomplished. The consensus here is that Charlies behind the delay but we know that Max and Milo got her on ice, right? Something else is going on? You really want to be this cliche? You want to be the ex-wife who shows up right before the wedding to upset the new wife? I mean, come on, Carly. This day was inevitable. Were the love of each others lives. Im the one who we couldnt get over. And the one he drop kicked. On your wedding day, no less. You know, history does have a way of repeating itself. Okay, well, Sonny and I are going to get married no matter what you do. This day has been a long time coming. It certainly has. So, why dont you take whatever small bit of dignity you could possibly have left and go. How long do you think Sonny will love you when he finds out you made him a grandfather? I dont know where Jason is but Sunnys inside. If Brendas ready, theres no point in making everybody wait. Everett, are you sure you dont want to reconsider? Listen, walking Brenda down that aisle would be the same as pointing her toward a path of of pain and heartache. Wait, I dont see why Brenda has to have someone give her away. I mean, she loves uncle Sonny and she chose to marry him of her own free will. So, shouldnt she be able to walk herself down the aisle? Absolutely. Uncle Wait, wait, hold on. Linda has been nervous all day. I dont want to make it any worse. Shes been worried that something is going to happen at the ceremony. With good reason. Why dont we just call Jason and figure out whats keeping him? No. I mean, its not like Jason to forget about the wedding. There must be some reason why hes not here. Something important. I bet anything that it has to do with Carly. Im sure she pulled some stunt and now Jason is stuck to clean up the mess. I mean, its not like I blame Brenda for having second thoughts because Sonny doesnt exactly have a great track record with weddings and wives. I mean, for a relationship to to be successful, each party has to trust the other implicitly. I mean, who knows what secrets the bride and groom may be keeping? Yeah, well, Sonnys a mobster. Secrets are part of the deal. Maybe Brenda realized that she can handle that. I should be acting weird. No, Uh you know, Ive been too preoccupied with my own pet project. Uh an intriguing look into the inner workings of a detective agency run by Suave Smooth. Okay. Well, maybe you can use your PI skills to find out what made Brenda change her mind. Youre showing an amazing amount of restraint. I think youd be doing a jig in the aisle now hoping that Brenda stood up. Sunny. What else? I would love nothing more than to think that Brenda had a moment of clarity and thought about all the reasons why marrying Sonny would be an absolute disaster but theres still a chance that shes going to walk down the aisle. Sonny seems to be taking a solid stride. What point do you think he should be getting nervous? Uh Sonny doesnt think like that. Well, maybe he should start. Been sitting here for a while, the only thing thats happened is Robin came in to get Edward. It cant be a good sign. In my experience, Sonny knows exactly what he wants and he knows how to get it. Carlys a determined woman. You sure she hasnt given those dim weights the slip? I wouldve heard about it by now. I dont know. Maybe not. Its a tough job market out there for buffy boys in bad suits. Maybe theyre trying to wait to sound the alarm until theyve done damage control. This has to be about Jason because he was supposed to was Brenda down the aisle so if hes not here, he might have some news about it. Look, Im not one to support anything my niece does but are you sure theres some legitimate reason she doesnt want this wedding to go forth? Are you serious? Im just putting it out there. Yeah, yeah. Im a little confused about why you saved this whole performance for for right now. I mean, why not do it during the ceremony because public humiliation, thats kind of your thing. I dont want to hurt Sonny or my kids anymore. Theyre going to be hurt by what youve done. Right. Well, the only one whos hurting anyone ever is you. Okay. Im going to graciously offer you a chance to keep your past with Dante and the baby a secret. All you have to do is walk away from Sonny. Get the hell out of this town and dont ever look back. So if what you and Sonny have is real, you walk away and leave Sonny with his precious illusion of you and Dante mean better for Sonny to suffer a small heartbreak with you leaving than to find out that you had a kid with Dante. And now youre trying to make Sonny unhappy and we all know why Carly we all understand whats happening here because Carly needs to be front and center at all times in Sonnys life right and that is why youre married with Jax never had a chance Theres your cue. Manly P. Hall (March 18, 1901-August 29, 1990) Dr. Stephan Hoeller recently visited PRS to record a lecture in Halls honor on the importance of cultivating ones own philosophy of life. In his work My Philosophy of Life, Hall wrote A mature philosophy of life originates in a natural thoughtfulness. To live without thinking is to fail in the proper use of the powers and faculties with which we have been endowed. To think without applying our thoughts to the conduct of our affairs is to substitute mere intellectualism for intelligence. It is seldom possible to perfect a personal philosophy without study, through which we become familiar with the deepest and noblest convictions of mankind. We must also call upon daily experience, by which we can convince ourselves of the reality and integrity of certain basic principles ever present and forever true. Beyond both study and experience are the internal faculties of the soul, and these must bestow final certitude upon our convictions. If, therefore, we live simply and wisely, seeking first the improvement of our inner lives, reserving an open heart and mind, we shall be guided and directed according to our needs and understanding.
