Luego fue trasladada por personal del #SAG y voluntarios de nuestro centro de rehabilitación. . ⚕ La paciente llegó muy grave con múltiples laceraciones y hematomas ocasionados por las mordeduras de los perros. “Ever since my treatment, my plan was to be a pediatric oncology nurse – and that’s exactly what I went on to do. I admired the nurses who cared for me and knew that I wanted to do the same when I grew up. I’ve been on 10South for eight years and my heart is definitely with the kids.” Growing up, Shari was an avid gymnast. She started complaining of pain in her hip and it quickly progressed to the point where she was unable to sleep at night. After imaging, she was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma when she was 10 years old. She underwent 14 cycles of chemo, six weeks of radiation and a bone marrow transplant at @UMNChildrens. Today, Shari cares for kids and families on OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital’s 10South unit. 💗 Thank you for allowing us to share your story this #ChildhoodCancerAwarenessMonth, Shari!
